Everything is not exactly perfect yet, but you can now get the first days stats and first price change info together on the stats page. I will leave a link to the older version. The assimilator will probably not be updated until the weekend, sorry. Player pages still show last years stats, but this year's schedule. They will be updated after the assimilator. |

I remembered I already had an extra name field, which I had originally used to match up last years SW names and this years, and then Swirve names. I don't need it for that purpose any more. I manually reviewed the 50 players who had two different names and picked the one that matched Rotonews (in 3 cases I used a third variation).
So most of the names will work (if the player is in Rotonews at all. 4 of those 50 players were not, but most were guys I never heard of.)
But I am sure some of the players, especially those that are newer will not. If you find a player who's link doesn't work in Rotonews, try to find him and let me know what the name in Rotonews is and I will fix it.

fixed the 2001 bug (in both the normal schedual and the slices) so you shouldnt have any problems entering in dates for next year, and you should only have to put in the day and month; for example start 12/12 stop 2/2 would run from dec 12th this year till feb 2nd next year. lmk if you find anything odd. thnx

Is there any way you could bring back the analysis chart you had in place the past couple of years before the current system was installed near the end of last season?
This year's sortable version is nice, but I really liked the old columns where you could see how many SWP a player had scored during the past 5 / 10 / 15 games. Lets you see who's hot and who's not. Also good for IPPP (injured player purchase prevention).
I think we all appreciate what you do for all of us, philliephan. I personally may not finish in the running for a Smallworld prize, but I won a $40 bet last year, and am already kicking my friend's ass on a $150 bet we have going this year, thanks to your site :) In fact, your site is so instrumental to me winning that I'll be sure to send you a $10 check if I win again this year! My friend's team name is Destiny, and we're both in the Belly division, so you can hold me to my word ;)

Not sure exactly what you are referring to, there is the capability to view 7/15 (and there will be 30 day) SWP by changing the SWP periods at the top.
On a related note, I have changed the default for the second SWP period to 15 day SWP (it was last year SWP). I will eventually change this to 30 day SWP, but of course right now this is the same as YTD. Last year is still available as a choice, but I think last 15 days is becoming more relevant.

How abot a (sortable) column that gives out the number of games from the 21 day schedule. (i'm a lazy counter).
And to make Hark's world a further easy one.
How about a combined sorting like
# games in 21 days & either swp in last whatever days or Price

I have been thinking along the lines of a "projected points" column which would take number of games played in a selected future period and SWP/G in a selected past period and multiply them together so you could get say a projected points for next 15 days based on SWP/G for last 30 days or whatever. Also would allow you to compute projected points/Million $.
The problem is I will need to make some database changes and some programming that I have not yet had time for. But I hope to get to it in the next week or two. Then you can be completely lazy...

maybe you can just tell us how many points each guy will score. That would probably be easiest for all of us.
Serious - Is there a way you can get a "days since last game played" column?

NEW FUNCTIONALITY
I have added several new pieces of functionality.
1) A minimum games field at top, suppresses display of players who did not play at least this many games in the primary (first) period.
2) A schedule days field and a new column listing the number of games to be played over that number of days.
3) Column A (by default SWP/M) has two new choices "Projected Points" defined as the number of games played over the "schedule days" multiplied by the SWP/G for the first period (the column before column A) and "Projected Points per Million" defined as Projected Points (as described previously) divided by the players price in Millions of SWD.
Let me know how these work out.
P.S. I am still working on the Actual points thing, so far it only works retroactively. ;-)

Is there any way you could show the most updated price for the Swirve game? For example, I know Forsberg is up to $50k per day now.

One more option that would be great:
In hoops Guru has the sortables set that you can sort for C, G, F, plus the option to sort centers and guards, forwards and guards, forwards and centers, etc.
I find sometimes in Hockey I would like a sort of just wings and centers or wings and d-men and it would be nice to have both on the same table... Check out Guru's sortables for Hoops to see what I mean.
Goalies could more than likely be left out of the combos, but that is up to you, if you can do this

That was pretty easy to do, and I had been meaning to at least have a non-goalie option (since they tend to show up too often in a lot of sorts). Hopefully the options aren't to cryptic. W/C/D is Wing/Centers/Defensemen, etc.
I have no combo's (except All) for goalies. I think it would be pretty unusual to combine Goalies and Centers etc. in a search. (Actually I doubt anyone will often use anything except W/C/D and W/C.)

philliephan, I was wondering if there's any way to put all the daily price changes for each player into a file. I like to graph a player's change YTD using your individual player pages (great feature BTW!) and throw in the points scored as well to see how prices respond to performance, but it would be easier for me to do a larger number of players at once if I could get them all at the same time. If you can't, no biggie, and I appreciate all the work you do on your site. I'd be lost without it. :)

hm maybe I'm too stupid or using it the wrong way.
When I type in a number say 10 on the Min. Games field, the site does not sort out anyone with fewer games.
What's wrong with this, beside me of course ?

Seems to work for me. Just to make sure you understand it, if you make it say 11, it should only show you players who have played 11 or more games (in column 6, by default G YTD).

ooooooooooooooooooooooooh
What a fool I am !
I thought it was a filter for the upcoming Games in the next 21 days ! It came up with that Sched Days filter and the above mentioned column so I bundled them all together. That and I am a guy of the future not the past. Don't wanna know how many games these slackers have already blown, I want to know how often they will disappoint me in the next 3 weeks ! ;-(
Thanks Hark

For now the main server will be ww2.realftp.com/fhs/, however as long as domaindlx is responding, I will try to keep that one up to date as a backup server, so chances are you can access either one, however just remember realftp.com is my primary server. Also I am going to wait on getting the pay server untill we investigate the ability of porting things to php and possibley moveing things to the gleem site. lmk if you have a issues, and thanks again for being patient while i get my act together.

I have this firm rule about never committing to things when I do web projects for work, and I think this is why...the new server (yes, the one I spoke so highly about, calling it my main server and all that garbage) seems to be down this morning... I'm not complaining however, after all, they could be fixing the clock... Anywho stats are up on the backup server...

both sites are up to date, however the realftp site has mario in the stats. this throws things off a little since his points and $$ from the first week or so were all put in as one game, so i may just keep both sites going forward for now. if people look over the realftp data and dont have an issue with mario, lmk and i will synch up the 2 databases.

OK, here's my next question. Is there a way to be able to print the schedules from Gleem without missing half of it? Maybe it can be shrunk down or something. I wish I knew more about computers so I wouldn't need to bug you guys with this stuff. Thanks for any help.

Hmmm, good question. You could set the page printout to "Landscape", instead of "Portrait", but I'm not sure that would still get everything.

I have gotten the extra mario information onto the domaindlx server, and assumeing realftp regains responsiveness, I will make sure that db is up to date. In other words, the 2 sites should now be mirrors of each other, and I think I will try and maintain both of them so we always have at least one server to access.

Hoops boy, Thank you, thank you, thank you, for your efforts. The addition of the Mario stats is just an added bonus to what you have done for all of us.
I think your handle now deserves an upgrade. Something like:

Of course, hoops boy is just fine if that is what you really like. We could also consider CWFKAHB, for Computer Whiz Formerly Known As Hoops Boy ;-).
