I believe there is at least one RIHC qualifying league out there, and maybe more. If you are in one, please speak up - and if you can produce a reasonably current rendering of your league standings, I'd appreciate that, too.

Here's the current standings from the Guru Qualifiers league. I didn't do as well as I would have liked in this league compared to others I'm in, but it was still fun. Good job MikeD on trading your way to the top yet again!

lol and thanks skinneej. BMD is making a serious run though. Everyone can now hold him off for me. ;)

Turns out that the top three in Farn's league all are now in the RIBC, and I think Guru established a rule prohibiting appearance in multiple leagues. But baseball should be over by then, so maybe one of us will be eligible again.

My team is about maxed out in the categories we can improve on. Might be able to squeeze 2-3 more points but even then your team would have to lose some points which could only happen in 2-3 categories. If I had to give odds on my chances of winning I'd say they'd be close to 25:1.

Well that makes me feel a little better.....you've had a great last week or two BMD. Kudos.

Actually, I think if someone qualifies for an Invitational League berth by winning, I'd waive the "only one league" limitation. I only wanted to avoid duplications for the first year, so that each league would have a unique group to start.

I think if the top 3 are in another league it should go to whoever is 4th. Hey what a coincidence. It is me. :) In all seriousness though slackjawed yokel has been dominating that league all year and everyone else has been trying to play catch up. He earned the spot.

My team has been so injured lately that I've been reduced to starting Brandon Hunter. I'm happy to be hanging on to 3rd place right now.

I lost the championship race after pulling a win-it-all-or-lose-it-all trade in which I received Kidd (and Brand)... :-(

Slackjawed Yokel is/was unstoppable, great job in your draft and team management, S-Y!

Thanks guys. It's only in the past week or so that I have felt comfortable with my lead. And, smartone, you're still within striking distance in multiple categories, so I don't think it's over yet.

Are these the only two qualifying leagues? I believe they are, but I want to be sure.

My plans are to announce next year's RIHC managers shortly after this season is over, rather than waiting until the fall.

Is that so we can start trading already? Or do we have to draft first? ;)

Once we settle on the teams, we can decide how to set the draft order for next year.

I just want to decide on the managers early while the current season is still fresh in everyone's minds.

Yep, Give slackjawed yokel credit. He has ran away with this league.

As far as my team, I believe the single thing that destroyed my team's chances of winning was the trade of Abdur-Rahim to Portland. This lowered the value of Rahim drastically and also made a small hit to Randolph's value. Various injuries to Baron Davis, Amare Stoudamire, Artest and Shaq have also hindered me throughout the year. Take nothing away from SY though. He has done an unbelievable job down the stretch and deserves all the credit for winning this RIBC Qualifying League.

Was that the team with the infamous choice of Curry in the 2nd round? ;-) I can't believe I even remember that.

yea, it was. unfortunately, i don't think that's what did me in as much as Troy Hudson's injury knocking him out, and more importantly, the AWFUL trade i made with Mike D, swapping Chris Anderson, Brian Grant, LeBron James, and Corey Maggette for Allan Houston, Aaron McKie, Charlie Ward, and Chris Wilcox.

on the bright side, i did finish second in the TM category, and that overshadows nearly everything else... ;o)

Yeah, I shipped them to Tree......in the Belly. Don't forget Maggette had been hurt, and who know Houston would be.

hard to compete with a bunch of injured guys: Kidd, JermO, Finley and Sheed all on my team... :-(
