With the approval of Soulman, I'll post standings daily as best I can. Any errors with regard Gurupie names let me know. |

Thanks Dave, much appreciated. I did send the lineup with the missing Gurupie names to you today, so you can include them in tomorrow's standings. If you haven't received the mail, just let me know.

#5 Dave, This is odd indeed, in total I sent 3 mails to you today. You haven't put my sender address on your spam filter, have you? ;) Perhaps it's just a massive delay of mail server communication, but maybe it works if you receive it from a different mail provider. So I think it would be helpful if bd forwarded the mail to you.
BTW to all RFC members -- If any of you also did not receive the mail I sent to everybody today, just let me know and I'll resend it.

Or maybe I shouldn't have sent them via ship... ;)
Seriously, I guess your provider perhaps had a massive spam attack or whatever so due to maintenance all other mails were massively delayed. Whatever, main thing is that your mail account is back in the WWW again! :)

Yeah, he was a bit out of luck last year after leading us to a championship with his fantastic season two years ago. But the Lübeck Eagles definitely are soaring again so my goal will be to finish 2nd this year.
It's a shame that as division we're out of contention for the threepeat, not sure why we're so far behind this season. Anyway, I still would like to beat the TSN Boards League, so as a division I'm also hoping we can finish second. But for this I guess we'd need a lot more 464 nights...

One reason is that deejay always puts his worst team in the fight-club ;) Second reason is that our dear soulman spreads his wealth this year with the guru patrons ;) ;) And the real reason is that our german friends Rolf, Holger and Emil are underperforming so far. But I'm quite sure that at least the turnabouts will crack the top 200!

@135 You're absolutely right - unfortunately. Last year I almost cracked the top 100, this year I`m happy to be back in the top 500 right now after being 700-800 most of the season :-( But I have not given up to reach the RFC top 10 ;-) Keep on fighting, RFC members!
By the way: Do you thinks it`s a wise move to sell David Lee for Jason Richardson today? I have only 2 trades left this week...

Nice to hear from you, Holger!
Don't know if it's wise but I sold Lee for a GS-Player. In my Case S. Jackson, cheaper and also G/F. Don't am too thrilled about J.Rich too soon to predict his impact on the team and too soon to know if he has any rust on him from his injury!

Wow, Florian, seems in the race for the divison top spot you are on the right side of luck right now. When Lebron's DNP news came out I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw you're the only one in the top 7 who doesn't have him. Anyway, I'll still try my best to give you a close battle in the season finale. :) Or rather try to at least hold 2nd against Dave and his intimidating $86m... {gulp}

And with just one day to go Dave vaults into the division prize position in our league. Good timing Dave! ;) That's gonna be a close one between you and Florian for the 50 bucks tonight. Other battles looking to go down to the wire will be Dilo vs turnabouts, Rolf vs Gescom, DrD vs P_TA, Holger vs H2OPG and Ole vs bd. Should be a fun season finale... :) So good luck everybody!

And I don't know what surprise moves turnabouts will be pulling (he always has surprise moves up his sleeve in the end ;)) but he definitely will do whatever it takes to kick Dilo out of 4th. Who also will do whatever is necessary to beat turnabouts for a change. I love this game! :)

Guess i will take 5th unless Kobe and Paul skip tonights game for the mighty turnabouts. 35 points lead is not enough to compensate 2 DNPs which I fully expect of Camby and Iverson.
So come on Kobe relax, sit down and eat a cookie!

Thanks to the DNP of Nene, i was able to secure my 7th place.
Congrats to Soulman! In every single post (i've read) you complained about your day late strategy, but somehow you finished 1st in our league, 32th overall. Was understatement your strategy? ;-P
My season had a lot of ups and downs (to be honest, more downs), but it was a lot of fun. Ok, quite a few times i wanted to throw my PC out of the window when i saw the price mover or boxscores in the morning. But overall i'm pleased with the 233th place this season. All-important i finished ahead of my personal most feared opponent Captain Carrot. ;-)
The RFC finished 3rd in the league ranking, so no Threepeat. But the RFC will strike back ... *imperial march sound*

Thanks Rolf and congrats for beating your "arch-rival" Captain Carrot, guess that fulfilled your season goal! :) And no, understatement was not my strategy, LOL. Actually, my target was top 20 so why not constantly bash the day-late-strategy if it held me down to 32nd? ;))
No seriously, I am happy with 32nd but all season long it never really looked like I could finish any better than 60th or so. And even though I'm content with the result, I still feel the day-late was inferior this year and I'm not sure whether I'd employ it again. Anyway, I'll find out in 6 months' time... ;)

Interesting Soulman, my team here was day late and finished 300 points behind my best team which started on time, almost the exact deficit I lost by not fielding a team the first day.
I think the day late strategy is much more successful in baseball and this year TSN enacted measures to penalize day late teams. It will be interesting if they do the same in hoops.

That's interesting, never heard that because I don't have a clue of what's going on in Fantasy Baseball. So what measures exactly is it that TSN is planning to penalize day-lates? Because if there are penalties it could seal my current notion of never using the day-late again.

In baseball you start with 3 hitter trades and 3 pitcher trades. The season typically starts on a Monday.
New hitter trades are given the first Thursday and new pitcher trades are given the following Tuesday ( no new PT's are given the 2nd day of the season )
In order to get your first 3 new hitter trades you needed a valid roster as of the opening freeze ( Monday night ).
So you could go day late still but forfeit the 3 new HT's.

I finished somewhere in the 500 rank (pretty much my rank last year). I still feel I learned a lot this season (also thanks to Deejay for the first few weeks at the beginning). I started off well, then made some crucial mistakes half way through, then managed to finish 'strong'. Overall I am happy to have ended up somewhere in the middle of a very (!) strong division (RFC is pretty damn tough).
What is left? To hope for Dirk to get his MVP. To hope for the Mavs to go all the way. To hope that my Playoff team will do well.
Here's to a long break... I already can't wait for next season to start ;-)

"Turnabouts and Dilo not competitive over a whole season"
That is not true. Dilo, you were competitive a long time. I don't know how long but i think the first 3 months. You and i have to optimize our good streaks over the whole year. I think this was my last season ignoring the FV to the beginning of the season. And next year (maybe) i will play with two teams for the first time in my career, one will be day late.
But i was again fun to be a member of the fight club.

#202 Thanks for the explanation, Dave. If they do anything like that in Hoops, the day-late concept will probably be obsolete.
#205 Very good recap, thanks Dilo. I guess I was lucky to win the division this year, normally WWR32 shouldn't be enough to finish first in here. Actually, I think we have to get back to the point where it is good for maybe 5th or so. Like next year when we're hopefully back in contention for the league title. :)

Congrats to the league.
And thank you both.
I don't have the feeling that i changed my game this year but it was really a good one. And i never played for money but now i must admit that the 250 for the 5th place would be very welcome.

Congrats everybody to yet another league championship - awesome job, guys! As Dilo said, that was the third in four years and I can't remember we ever took it by such a great margin.
Last year when we finished third, I said that I shouldn't win the division with a WWR of 30ish. It seems turnabouts in particular listened to that and kicked some serious butt this year. Especially mine! ;) Great season buddy - I never had a real shot at beating you this year.
Anyway, my hope for next year is that if I yet again finish in the thirties, it would only be good for 5th or 6th in the RFC! :) I'm looking forward to it and hope to see all of you guys next autumn. Have a great summer!

Great managers, great league to be in. That was another fun year.
We have crowned a new king, very very impressive season turnabouts. You have a serious shot at winning it all one day I think which is amazing for a euro-based manager.
I've matched my best performance in this league with a bronze medal which is probably what I can do best here. And there's one recurring item over these 4 years: I always finish behind Soulman no matter what. So Soulman, please win it all next year, at least I'll have a shot at #2!
Enjoy the Playoffs and the summer!
