Let the season begin....
ESPN is reporting that the Miami Heat will soon complete a trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves to acquire swingman Ricky Davis and center Mark Blount in exchange for Antoine Walker, Michael Doleac and Wayne Simien.
We have no idea what Minnesota is going to do with Walker if this deal happens, but the good news for Ricky Davis owners is that he'd likely step right into the starting lineup for the Heat. It's believed the Heat will throw in a draft pick or two to help push the trade through. Davis would likely start at shooting guard, while Blount would help back up Shaquille O'Neal and Udonis Haslem. None of the players going to Minnesota would have any fantasy value. Looks like Minny's goal for this season is clear - secure the highest number of lottery balls...

It is a crazy trade but does clear playing time for Brewer, McCants, Foye, G. Green, Jaric, and maybe Telfair.
They now have 17 players with contracts!! They are likely going to have to trade, cut or buy out two players before the start of the season. Walker is reportly an apparent buyout candidate despite two years on his contract.
It does appear they are going for more lottery balls.
It is going to be a interesting season.

I suspect Juan Howard has already had some talks of being let go so he can sign with a contender.

Good news for Harmstrong owners.
I think my friend Everybody and his mom are going to draft him. They'll be glad to hear this. Thanks! ;)

Mike Bibby will have surgery on his injured left thumb to repair torn ligaments.
This will cause him to miss at least 10 weeks and is terrible news for those of you who have already drafted him. Quincy Douby and John Salmons will split point guard duties, with Douby appearing to be the early favorite to win the job. Neither player is a true point guard, so this news is just as devastating to the Kings as it is to Bibby owners. Both Douby and Salmons are worth picking up in most leagues. per rotoworld

Chucky Atkins out 6-8 weeks with Groin Injury
It seems like there HAS to be a cheap viable option at G for Denver with Atkins and Carter out...I just can't figure out who it is

Murphy, O'Neal and Williams out for the Pacers on Wednesday at least... Diogu may put up monster numbers...we'll have to see if the Lemmings run to him, even though he will lose tons of minutes when those three come back...
when willliams will become the stud of the cheapies :-)
