Yeah, I feel the same Swish. The draft was really strange without you and Edgar. In the recap thread, I was all ready to say if there was a team I'd switch with, it would be your team. Glad I backed off that one this year!

The public league standings page is now active, and can be reached by clicking on the RIHC icon on the blurb page, or by going directly to:
http://rotoguru1.com/hoop/RIHC.html

From there, you can also access the standings as of any other (past) date, or you can run split totals for any range of dates, or you can run standings based on per-game averages.

As a reminder, please do not change your team name at the Yahoo site. The standings splits rely on matching team names for the beginning and ending date, and if you change your team name, you'll screw up that functionality.

Looking to move rebounds....McDyess had a 15/15 night last night. Could use some 3s/points.

We're essentially at the halfway point, and the race is as tight as I can ever remember. This morning, three teams are tied with 66 points, and a 4th is just one point behind.

RIHC Standings - 1/21/08

On a per-game basis, Footwedge has a small advantage, but then the race is even tighter:

Mike D and I got screwed out of a GP by virtue of the replayed final seconds of the 12/19 Atlanta-Miami game.

I had Josh Childress in my active lineup that day. He had Jason Williams. Neither of them played in the original game. But each played for the final 51 seconds and thereby earned a game played.

Jasonprof has an even crazier situation. He had Shawn Marion in his lineup that day. Marion, of course, was on Phoenix at the time, and Phoenix did play that day. Marion (now on Miami) also played in the final 51 seconds of the replayed game, so he now has credit for 2 games played on that day!

It's really coming down to the wire! Before losing 2 last night, FOUR TEAMS were within 2 points of each other for the lead. I don't have the categories to really make up ground to pass everyone, but I could get up to 65 points or maybe 66 with some luck. If some contenders fall a peg, it could be really close!

Wow, this is one close league! Can the experience of previous RIHC champions Mike D or Guru pull them through? Or will Footwedge or Species usurp the big two in their maiden season in the big league? Footwedge has a GP advantage over the rest, but can he convert it? Very exciting!

And the Euros look forward to hopefully rejoining you cats next season in the top division.

To your rightful place Swish.

I can't remember a finish this close with this many teams involved. I'll blame it on the reduction of scholarships which has caused more parity.

We're having a war with Florian for the top spot in AAA #1 that will likely go down to the last day. So hopefully it's still the top 2 that make it back to RIHC!

Guru, i was thinking about how the RIHC threads were very quiet during the regular season, and i thought it might be good to have some kind of weekly recap next season, which i would be happy to write up each week (assuming i have time then, of course). I think it would help to keep RIHC a lot more visible here, and folks might be more interested if they knew exactly how and why the league was unfoding the way it was. What do you/others think?

Aha, I see this Mr. Mike D is again and still in the lead. How surprising! Do your friends and co-workers know you are such a fantasy king Mike? Or do they see you as that hardworking loving husband that just likes hoops? ;-)

Beste of luck to you and Guru fighting out the final round!

Um, neither, but I can't type the 3rd scenario on a public forum. ;)

I'm trying to think "WWGD" (What Would Guru Do) and do the opposite. Because there's only one Guru.

The heavyweights of Guru and Mike D appear to have a bit of daylight. Species challenge looks close to finished, but can Footwedge use that 5 game advantage to haul himself back in to the race at the death?

Can Guru become the first manager to successfully defend the RIHC title?

Guru, I think he just called us fat.

I finally know what "s R" stands for. He's making a Serious Run for that 4th spot and probably wishes the season wouldn't end.

Barring a divine intervention, it looks like Footwedge and Species ran out of gas on the home straight.

That leaves the two fatties :P to slug it out for the right to be the first team to win the RIHC title for the 2nd time.

Looking at the potential point swings available, i've got to favour Mike D. Guru still has a chance, but it's going to be tough for him to claw those 2 points back over the last 2 days.

Anyway, this is a great finish, and congratulations to everyone invlolved in making it such a nailbiter right to the end. I'll watch with great interest to see how it finishes!

68 points is as many as I can achieve, I think. So the only way to catch Mike D is to have someone else play the role of spoiler and take some points from him.

The best chances would seem to be s_R overtaking him in blocks (gap is 7), Jason catching him in steals (gap is 7), and coldwater coyotes overtaking him in assists (gap is 18). There are a few other possibilities, but they are even longer shots.

And I'll still need to keep my shooting percentages on top while also maintaining a lead in rebounds.

It's not an impossible set of circumstances, but it's certainly a long shot.

Two Thumbs WAY UP for #19.

In the AAA #2, We have a very close fight for spots 2 & 3. Looks like XPD and DJ will place 2 & 3 respectively, but heck, even Weykool has an outside shot to break into the top three. A tie is a distinct possibility. Tequila was holding down the three spot but ran out of games and is now at 5th. Somewhere about the ASB our Trainer got a hold of some engineered steroids and so far we haven't been found out.

Guru's task was tough, but now it seems much harder than that. A 3 point gap on the last day is an awful lot to ask. Especially on a night of reduced minutes and random DNPs.

Good luck to all on regular season finale night!

I don't have the GP's to stay tied for 3rd.

Fourth isn't an embarrassment. At least it means I will be back and ready to kick ass next year!

Big congrats to Mike D for his 2nd RIHC title. From it's inception, Mike has owned most of us in this league, and there could not be a more deserving winner. In the end, it was a fairly comfortable victory.

Also well done to Guru for an admirable defence of his title. And to Species and footwedge for running them both very close before just running out of steam at the end.

In fact, good job by everyone! And after winning AAA1, i'll see you all next season back at the big show.

Don't let that title get too cosy, Mike. The Euros will be coming back at ya next season ;)

Fairly comfortable? I just exhaled for the first time in 2 weeks. Man did those last games drag on. Very, very competitive season. Something tells me you and Edgar are already scheming. ;)
