Subject: 11/14 "Will Your Team get "Brokebacked"?" Action

While it is absolutely insensitive, I did laugh at Phil Jackson's comment after getting beaten badly last night by the Spurs:
"We call this a 'Brokeback Mountain' game, because there's so much penetration and kickouts," Jackson said. |

#0 - yeah, saw the articles on yahoo nba and was shaking my head. not at jackson but at the fact that you can't even make a joke anymore. seriously, students take guns to school, politicians are corrupt as hell, people die on the streets, there's sh!t on TV every day... and yet, we punish someone for making a joke. wtf?

#3 Nelson already was on pace for an out of my mind game yesterday. He had scored his 29 TSNP by halftime already, and then basically took a seat because the Sonics forgot to show up for the second half.

per rotoworld:
Rotoworld sources are relaying that Detroit radio station 1270 AM reported Wednesday that the Lakers and Pistons had a "done deal" as of 6:45 PM on Tuesday that would have sent Richard Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince, Amir Johnson and a first-round pick to the Lakers for Kobe Bryant.
Both teams had reportedly agreed to the deal, but Bryant alledgedly vetoed it with his no-trade clause, apparently not wanting to go to a depleted Detroit team. It will be interesting to see how the Pistons' players mentioned in the deal react to this news.
Huh?

With all the crappy guys we all have on our teams right now, think 300 TSNP is a possibility tonight? Seems like that would be a pretty good night at this point in the season.

haywood was never actually playing all that bad. if i traded everyone of my players who had 2 bad games, i would have no players...i traded haywood by the way.
i would say moon will keep starting if he keeps playing this way...although AK 47 and Deng might have been match up considerations.

the Zenmaster has made comments that he needs to learn to play hard for all his minutes, and when he plays with maximum effort for all his minutes, he'll show he's ready for more minutes, etc.
I think Phil is sensing serious potential in a player whom he feels lacks sufficient internal motivation. Bynum so far is getting the most minutes at C on the team, but its definitely a committee effort at this point, and Bynum is not starting.

The emergence of Udrih works both ways, it also kills the fantasy impact of both Salmons and Garcia, two popular players I don't have.

Bynum----by starting him he matches up with the opposing team's starting center, and is very prone to fouls, and low minutes. Coming off the bench he can have less pressure and match up with the opposing team's second team center, and he will foul less because the guy isn't as good and probably doesn't get the ball as much or score as much. He will therefore play more minutes in the long run.
He will eventually be less foul prone, older, more experienced, and start.

27 Pacers Rule But it is okay for Brown to walk down the court and then turn the ball over on the other end and then AGAIN start walking down to the other end. That does not look like maximum effort to me!
Also this VETO clause Kobe has is NOT GOOD as it will continue to tear apart other teams. Trades get negotiated by two teams then when the news breaks it is already a doen deal and those players involved are shipped along. Now with a player involved in the deal has the ability to VETO....then each attempt each team tries to trade has a trade become vetoed and then those players that would have normally been traded are still playing with that team Ex: Prince & hamilton. And the Chicago players. How many teams have to have this happen until people just stop shopping for him.

They certainly are two of the most injured big stars in the NBA. It is okay for Houston because they have the real Franchise available on the bench.

Agreed on Maxiell, deejay. Without Dice, he'll probably rack up one double-double after the other now that everybody sold.
Also agreed on Wright. Same story last season - a regular was out (then RJeff), but Wright failed to meet expectations as a starter. I get the impression that regardless of how many minutes he gets, he's not more than a low 20s performer.

BTW, a few other personal observations from last night: - The King is ridiculous. And thanks Jameer for putting the pedal to the metal after everybody had lost faith. - In spite of my age I now believe the Man in the Moon is for real... :) - Miami is worse than I thought. I mean, to lose to the Sonics? At home?? - Udrih however isn't that bad after all. Looks like he and Artest render Garcia/Salmons all but useless. - Bynum will be a decent Center. In a few years. When he gets minutes from Phil. - The Warriors can't win. But it seems they're as much fun to own as always. :)
