Hey squad,

4 new trades to burn today :). Not sure what people are thinking about Calderon but you know my thoughts on Tor and it sounds like Ford could be back as early as tonight according to rotoworld.

Ford put up quite a game. It does look like even with with Ford back Calderon will get plenty of minutes although I suspect less once he is not starting.

Jason Kidd really pissed me off last night but if the Cavs can get him in a trade all would be forgiven. What would they have to give up? Probably 2 of Varejao, Pavlovic, and Gibson as well as some draft picks and big contracts(Marshall, Damon Jones, !Hughes!)

Right now I'm looking at trading Kobe to Howard and now I'm not so sure about Louis Williams to Beno. If Williams can stay above 20, it might be better to just hold on.

I think there will be some bleeding again from Williams to Beno but it may well be better to hold onto the trade at present.

As far as Kidd goes--ugh--I was going to hold on a non-GMD team but after reading things likely will trade him sooner than later.

I finally had a good night last night, but I don't think I'm in a jovial enough mood to hold Dirk, so he'll likely go to Howard. I'd just like to point out that Dirk averaged 41 ppg for me in the 8 games before everyone picked him up from LeBron, and 30.5 since. I guess I'm fortunate to have gotten the 41, but like the rest of you, I wish you had never picked him up.

Looking back, we all had a number of choices to go to when we replaced LeBron and Howard. Here's how I would grade them:

Camby - passable
Garnett - disappointing
Kidd - a headache
Dirk - disappointing
Marion - passable
Nash & Amare - in retrospect those two were the way to go.

Do I get a passing grade? I already had Nash and Amare so I went with SJax.

Farn,

You were the big winner--I suspect.

Kobe might be added to the above list.

Now we get to see if going back to a winner works.

Re #9
I have another adjective for Dirk since my team fell hard during the week I had him but I won't post it.

Turned him into Howard today and that was the most enjoyable transaction I have made all year. We never know how it will turn out in the end but for that moment - nice!

nice work wolf-pack...we're actually leading TP2 and closing the gap a little.

given my one trade, i'll be holding calderon and AK for the time being and waiting for clarity.

twolves, with five trades, the AK trade is certainly pretty tempting. I do think he will have trouble blowing up to anything approaching 88 with boozer playing. though they do play golden state on tuesday.

Congrats on your climb. Your team looks so solid with great RV, trades and transition players to pick up extra games. You should be top 10 by mid next week at the latest.

qwert,

I think you definitely want to hold on to your last trade today and possibly tomorrow too. Schedule wise none of your players have to go but Wade, Calderon, and Kirilenko could all be options. With no "good" options today that are guaranteed winners, patience will prevail even if RV doesn't.

It is looking tempting to trade AK today after the last couple of duds. Fortunately, we have only 3 AK but next week may be another story if without him. It does appear Boozer and D. Williams are front and center pieces for Utah at present.

Calderon gets this game to determine his status on some non-GMD teams.

Foye sounds like he will give it a go sometime later next week if he is cleared to practice Monday. The Mpls. paper earlier in the week implied it might take a week to get into game shape but he was doing some analyst work for the twolves game broadcast last night and sounded anxious to get back on the court. The big question is whose playing time will effect more--Telfair is my guess but Jaric may suffer some.

G,

If Wade can put up another couple 40+ games, I might even be tempted to hold him. From 12/13 to 12/29 his schedule can't be beat.

If he's less than stellar, it will be very hard to hold off on a trade for lebron.

That gives me a game to to evaluate lebron...and possibly package AK and Calderon for LBJ and a cheapie.

Again, it might not be a good move money wise, especially on tuesday, but I'm ok in the RV department, so I need to concentrate on banking some trades.

From a fantasy perspective I don't think you could pass on starting an opportunistic MN D vs a horrible SF passing game. MN D is great against the run so Gore can't be counted on menaing SF will *gulp* have to throw the ball.

I agree with G on the Vikings defense.

However, they just lost two DE this week--one to IR and other substance testing violation.

Their run defense should still be good but pass defense--probably not get many sacks.

Thank you for the reassurance. Pick 6 on the first drive. (First pass?) The other defense I was considering was TB who allowed 28 points to Houston.

On the basketball front, the Tinsley news couldn't have come at a worse time.

Just getting home and see that D Wright put in one of those "UH OH, what have I done?" type of nights. He only played 11 minutes. I am low on trades so I passed. I hope everyone on our team if this is sign of things to come.

I passed on him except on my worst team--hopefully he will gain some money before he gets sold. The Wade trade does not look great at present either but hopefully will pick up.

You must have got home in time so you could enjoy Kobe. Unfortunately, I passed on him for Wade.

5 added Wade
4 dropped Moon

Here is another surpise to me atleast. We won the Kobe Bryant sweepstakes in a landslide. The "pack" took 6 Bryants yesterday while one went to each of the two other GMD teams and team Weykool passed on Kobe completely. This is quite a difference and has the potential to create some movement (one way or the other).

My team is doing pretty well right now but the Moon situation is very unclear.

-He's not producing
-He's losing a ton
-He has a very dense schedule
-There are no options in his price range
-I have one trade

I guess I'll just hold until the trade refresh and re-evaluate from there.

Rendle,

I would trade him as soon as you're comfortable having no trades. His role has been completely cutback, by Humphries in particular.

I think holding is a recipe for losing big money, while likely not getting great performance either.

I guess you don't have enough for outlaw...tough call.

udrih to outlaw tomorrow (Brewer back into Udrih on 12/23)

that leaves me one trade and an itchy trigger finger.

AK and Jaric both leave much to be desired and I am sick of looking at them. However, they both have great schedules, so the smart thing is to be patient.

I also had thoughts of going Udrih to Humphries for a 5-2 advantage and a bunch of cash, but since Brewer is having a good night, I am hopeful that he can survive until the 23rd, which is a good transition to Beno.

Thoughts on uses of that last trade?

I've got one trade. I'm still holding Moon as he continues to plummet. But I've got Kobe too so I'm stuck in a pickle.

If Kobe plays tonight I'll probably move Moon and hold my breath for a few days. If Kobe doesn't play I'll bail on him and hold Moon til Wednesday.

I prefer Outlaw...at least I must, since that's who I went with...but I think I prefer him anyway.

I like his definite sell date of 1/4...provided he doesn't suck all week this week, because it transitions nicely into just about anyone.

Another consideration is that I wanted to have Brewer at guard, so I could triangle back into Udrih...not sure if that's a consideration for your team, since Gay and Jaric give you more flex than I have.

Does jaric>udrih and hold brewer make sense? Brewer has a 1 in 5 mid january but could be held until 02/09 in order to start saving trades for stud swaps. I will likely cave for monetary reasons but it is an option i am looking at.
