0 Subject: Is Seattle tanking the season on purpose?

Here's an interesting article regarding the surroundings of the Sonics' team, ownership and future home:

Another NBA Scandal???

Man, I'd hate to be Kevin Durant right now. If it wasn't for the big $$$$$ he makes in Seattle, I'm sure he'd rather be at any other NBA franchise.

Obviously, management has run out its welcome there but they could have handled this situation a whole lot better IMHO. Think PJ loves coaching there? I seriously doubt it. I would love to hear some thoughts on what, if anything, the management could have done better and what they should be doing now to appease the fine people of the Pacific Northwest.

I watched their game when they won for the first time at home. They beat Indiana and the crowd was loud and both teams played hard. I figured they would be tanking this year, but even though they hadn't won a home game to that point, I certainly didn't see that then.

I received my annual b-day gift from my in-laws of a six-pack of Sonics games, so I have attended a couple so far.

I didn't read the article, but I can assure you they aren't tanking. They are genuinely bad.

When your two best players are rookies and your third best player is an under-sized forward with good vision and understanding of the game, but little actual talent, it is truly a surprise that they ever win.

They have no point guard.

They have no center.

The have journeymen who might make 12th man and 5 minutes of floor time in their starting 5.

They suck.

And PJ sucks too.

Go Storm!

Taking a peak, I now see they are ragging on Bennett and his crew. Yeah, not signing and trading the two talented players existing on the team might have had a bit of an impact. They weren't going to win anything, but they could have been competitive and interesting to watch.

According to emails, Sonics ownership misled David Stern about moving plans

Well as far as the Seattle players on the court, I'd definitely say no way. I just saw them play Denver over the weekend and it seemed like a playoff game.

It included a fawning section in which Bennett told the commissioner he was “an extraordinarily gifted executive … with a rare and unique charisma that brings out the best in everyone you touch … you are just one of my favorite people on earth and I so cherish our relationship Sonics business aside.”

Gag. What a slimy crack-licker.

That was payback for the 168 points they hung on the Sonics a month ago.

Stale, poisonous cracker, I'd say.
