0 Subject: December 21- December 28 Trade Thread

Posted by: Mrballaholic - [5311361822] Fri, Dec 21, 2007, 11:11

Depending on how Yi does his next game, I might pick him up on the 26th and hold him for a long time. He's the only Bucks player worth having, I already learned my lesson with Bogut. Udrih, Nazr, S. Williams are also good cheapie pickups.

P.S. I am not droppin Brewer

If u look closely u can see that qwerty123 and ballaholic both miscalculated their weeks ..... 2 threads covered 16 days ..... easy to miss but could also account for the discrepency

You drop Howard early for Bogut to avoid losses and now you are going to to hold Brewer?
OKAY......
Seems like you cant decide on what side of the street you want to drive on.
While most managers will hold someone like Howard or Baron through losses because they feel the points are almost guaranteed, I dont think most will feel the same way about Brewer.
Brewer is way overdue for a price correction and not worth the 25 points a game while taking multiple 100K hits.

I am with the "drop brewer when his sched dries up" camp because the name of the game is still making $$$... He will find his way back onto my squad, but I can find someone else to make me some money in the meantime (haslem, Nazr, etc.). Happy days to all

Drop Brewer for Udrih to gain one game? I know the dollars will be there, but wouldn't you rather use that trade to gain a couple games from say Lebron or some other stud? I guess I feel there is money to be made other places and more points to be made on other trades. I have Calderon to deal with for sure. I wish Kobe was playing better so I could hold him for sure until 12/26, it would make my trade plans better if I could move him and Bynum on the same day.
I think I am going to regret the quick Tinsley>Miller move instead of waiting and seeing the AI move yesterday.

i know it is technically +1 game but i think more important is how the makority of managers tend to go with trends (hence nazr will be a huge train over the next few days regardless of output)

if u look at brewers schedule next 4 weeks it is full of red holes ... which means no possbile re entry times .. i'd say brewer will drop to his minimum low before he ever sees decent gains again whereas udrih has a nice consistent schedule with many buy in dates .... (given he performs well or even normal) that can lead to real significant $$ profits

The thing is that Brewer's schedule never dries up for atleast a month. Weykool, I know what you are saying but instead of using a trade to pick up someone else whos going to get me 25tsnp or less a game, then waste another trade back into Brewer, I'd rather just save the trade and use it more efficiently. You guys really think Brewer is going to lose 500k plus? I don't, and if so it will be gained back quick.

Anyway, I'm hoping for a big game for Yiiii-haw tonight, I have a good feeling about him going off this month.

Actually, I need Udrih, So it's either D. Wright or Brewer ---> Udrih....so I might be selling Brewer since you guys are talking me into it. But, I still love Brewer's schedule.

If you are going Bynum ----> S. Jax now is the time. I am making the move for Sats game unless I decide not to go with Jackson.

Add the fact he is G/F and I love always having that guy on my team. When he has a 1-5 or worse then I probably would temporarily sell, but with his schedule...no reason to use a trade for this.

I have not been tradeless during the week this year, but I am tempted to do it today and tomorrow. I think if ever there were a week to go tradeless on a Sunday, it's this week. I need to do some more checking, but 4 trades next week should be sufficient until the next refresh and that week I should also be able to bank some. So, that would mean:]

Outlaw>Nazr today. Pure money play as there is no game gained until after Christmas, but given his performance last night, I think Nazr needs to be given a chance. I was planning to hold Outlaw, but he is not a must.

Calderon/A. Miller>Udrih/Lebron. Calderon has been fantastic, but with 5 days off and then not a great schedule, he needs to go. Udrih allows me to get Lebron. I think he is going to go back to his high production and with so few games over Christmas, 2 from him could really help points wise.

This means I hold Kobe for his next two games and hope he can do better. His money lost today hopefully will come back a little on Christmas. I also hold Brewer and Boozer, which I was planning anyway. I thought about Boozer>Lebron, but I would want Boozer back, this seems a better plan. Andre Miller is in gravity, he was my quick out from Tinsley. He's a nice player with a nice schedule, but I'd rather have Lebron for his next 4 games.

Still time to contemplate, but for now that's my plan.

What are you guys doing with Bynum? Most have Howard to rotate to C and Nazr. Who likes Bynum > Jackson today?

12/26 ---> ???? If its to S. Jax why not today. Most people have Dwight to rotate to C and also Nazr.

Personally, I think Bynum is better than SJ. What is the benefit of making the move today?

If it's the money... watch Bynum gain 100k on Christmas.

People are already going to be selling him off to go to Nazr. He will bleed on his offdays so I could care less about his 100k gain (if he even gets that) on xmas. I'm not trying to argue with you guys but I feel strong about going Bynum > S. Jax today. Will Jackson be making money? Do you guys think he might lose money after his b2b? Do you guys like his schedule for the next month? I guess I think differently or something it seems like a good move to me.

21 If you think Bynum => SJ is a good move, go for it. If you think the move gains you points and money, you don't have to convince me or anyone else here.

As far as moving Bynum to Nazr, I wish I had those people in all my leagues, but I somehow dodged them. Let Bynum leak all he wants over the next couple of days, all the better.

And for the record, I have SJ on some teams and may get him on others. But it won't be from Bynum.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to convince people or argue, I like hearing your opinions. I do feel strong about my moves though, and like to hear why I shouldnt make the move along with if its a good move or not. I love posting on here you guys know what you are talking about.

The past doesn't always predict the future, but it's all we have to go by:

Averages:
YTD Bynum 33 SJ 31.5
30 Days Bynum 35.1 SJ 31
15 Days Bynum 39.9 SJ 28.8
7 Days Bynum 41.9 SJ 30
Jackson 7 day average is inflated due to a 55 point explosion in a 125-117 shootout vs defenseless Memphis.

Bynum has been superior anyway you slice it and the trend is Bynum has been getting better and SJ worse. GSW sched is dense and long with a hiccup in the middle. Are you prepeared to hold through that? Personally I like the schedule and plan on holding through the 2-6 on the teams with Jackson as long as he produces. But he is trending the wrong way.

Jackson's price has come down, love the G/F and the schedule. But I don't think he is a must have by any means.

Do you like Rudy Gay, I like him a lot more than SJ and you can get him from Bynum 12/6. His money upside might be limited at this point but his schedule is better and longer, just not right at the onset.

I don't think most people post an opinion about holding a player because they have no trades.

Bynum is averaging 42/game over the last week, 40/game over the last 2 weeks and he plays twice from the 12/23 to 12/25...which no team other than cleveland does...so he makes money on both 12/23 and 12/25 for that reason...with no price movers on the day in between.

Jackson is averaging 30/game over the last week, 29/game for the last 2 weeks...and he doesn't play on 12/25, so if the back to back doesn't go well, he may lose money.

Best case scenario, you gain 100K on the trade and don't lose any points. Worst case scenario, you gain no money, lose points and/or Jackson gets injured costing you a trade you wouldn't have to use if you had waited to get into him.

The money you bank going Bynum to Jackson... gets you into Lebron tomorrow!

Going by averages lets say Bynum gets 15 more tsnp over the next 3 games than S. Jax. I'd rather a 200k+ price swing with S. Jax plus his lengthy schedule. If you are going Bynum to someone else though I do agree it would make sense to hold Bynum then go into Gay or someone. I held Lebron, have two trades going Bynum > Jackson (today) and Brewer > Udrih (tomm)

Thats why we play the game, there isn't any right way to go about it.

One thing for down the road. Do you want Howard at C on 1/3. My plans prefer to have him at F.

I realize no price changes tonight........but does that mean we can leave a spot open on our roster? Or should I undo and place the player back on the roster and then sell after 11:00 tonight?

doesn't matter if you have an invalid roster, since you won't get points anyway...sell all 10 if you want

I am giving a try on KG again. Will see after his 4-5 and then evaluate weither I want to hold for longer or get back into James. Also used cash with Bynum and got back into Paul on all of my teams. I have a hunch he wants to go on a tear!
