But let's say he had no official status with UCLA, other than being its greatest living example of humanity. Then the NCAA could have agreed that he was a person illegally representing the interests of the school in the recruitment of Love and actually penalize the Bruins.

What a stupid paragraph by that writer. Why not say he's a pedophile, while you're at it? There are lots of things Wooden isn't, all of which are not being investigated.

Instead of looking at this as the NCAA ensuring that no one is above following the rules, the writers speculates what a terrible time would be had if Wooden wasn't what he is--a contract employee of NCAA permitted to make the contact he did, indeed, make.
