Three players to consider selling today.

Amare is the only healthy one of the group. He's got three off-days in a row, and only 4 in the next 12 days. As much as it hurts to sell a healthy player, I think he's a "gots to go" situation.

Maggette has a great schedule and could be a long term hold at his price. His ownership isn't very high, and he doesn't seem poised to lose much value. But he didn't even travel with the team last night, and I wouldn't be surprised if he misses at least 2 more games.

LeBron has only 2 in the next 6, if he plays. After that, he's a must-have if he's healthy. He was the top-owned forward as of this morning's report, and has plenty of room to fall in the short term.

I've also got Jason Richardson on this team, and he really should be moved before the end of the trade week, although under extreme duress he could be held.

I was hoping to re-pickup Kaman and Butler from two of those players this week. Kaman did travel with the team to Minnesota, but there is no assurance that he'll play tonight. Even so, it may be time to pick him up now, on the assumption that he's at least close to a return.

Butler has the flu, and we also don't know the status of his hip injury.

The best short term option is Dwight Howard. I could move from LBJ to Howard today and gain two games vs LeBron even if LeBron plays tomorrow. But Howard is not a long term option, so moving to him ties up two trades in the near term.

Other short term options include Boozer or Zach Randolph.

Dirk or Josh Howard would be longer term options, although they are off for the next two days, so they could be bail-out options if I decide to hold anyone. Or they could be the pace to go from JRich.

I guess I have a lot of planning and plotting to do today. I'll be out tonight, so waiting on potential game time decisions is not an option.

Richardson->Dirk works well

Howard isn't short term. I have him and am holding until the 1 in 5 on the 28th. With so many injuries, I'll hold any healthy guy with an OK schedule. Duncan's 1 in 6 wasn't OK so I had to sell, but Howard is staying.

Got 1 trade left, had to sell Amare Duncan and Butler. So I really hope James is ok. Otherwise my team is totally ****ed

Need some help with my team:
Robinson, Nate (G)
Bryant, Kobe (G)
Daniels, Antonio (G)
Cassell, Sam (G)
Howard, Dwight (F)
Smith, Josh (F)
Stoudemire, Amare (F)
James, LeBron (F)
Kaman, Chris (C)
Camby, Marcus (C)

I have 2 trades.
I will use one on moving Amare today.
Any thoughts on using my last trade?
I am not that concerned about money right now but the DNP's are killing my points.

well for Kaman, I guess you may as well hold if you have this far. He seems to be better and is traveling with the team.

Hard to say with James. I think I'll hold tonight and keep my last trade. Yes he may put up a DNP tomorrow, but they did lose at home to Seattle, not sure how easily they'd let him sit out this one.

Do you have the 2M to go into Howard from Amare?

he can't move into Gasol today for the obvious reasons.

You can take Deron for a 6 in 9 and into Duncan. I have Deron on 2 other teams and am planning that move. Other options are Jamison and Kaman if he is playing (which I'm not sure he is).

I will get 3 dirk games for 1 Lebron game.
Other than Kaman I dont see any pressing needs for my team....and even he made money on a day he didnt play.

But both are back and it looks like its time to pickup Kaman now again even if schedule doesnt permit a smooth transaction.

I like Calderon, but I feel like moving into him this early is premature. At least for my lineup. I have A. Johnson, Carter and Miller and 7 studs. I don't see how I can move into Calderon without downgrading a stud and that would be a waste of an extra trade.

I couldn't agree more Yehosh, it has been a rough week. DNPs from Camby and Wallace and two virtual DNPs from Daniels. I really screwed up not taking Cassell over Daniels. Because he is so bad I am thinking of skipping LBJ next week. If I did I could move Howard & Daniels into Kaman and Butler. It would not gain me any games but I think my team would be much more solid. It comes down to 1 Howard, 4 LBJ, 4 Daniels vs. 4 Kaman & 4 Butlers for the next week. Using season avgs it comes out to about a 20 point advantage in the LBJ option's favor. However, I don't think Daniels will come close to 22 TSN per game. Howard hasn't been lighting the world on fire either. What do you guys think about skippin LBJ? Is it suicide?

I don't like the idea skipping James. But it also depends how complicated picking him up is for you. I do like the Kaman+Butler option better. You can always hope for a James DNP. Last 4 times I've held him in Ultimate (2 this year 2 last year) he has DNPed me, so I wouldn't be surprised if he does it again.

Regarding Cassell, I missed that train too and am stuck with A Johnson putting up 15 minutes a game lately. Not sure what to do, but his schedule is good, so I may just keep track for a few more games and see how things go.

today is kind of skewed for me though since now i only have lbj + kobe today and my lead is shortlived but i enjoy it as i can

tim thomas is injured too from last night so thats going to be a loser for me hopefully the 600k window i have for deron + t thomas > Jose + Kaman can hold for 2 days.

Btw grats to the squad for the great performance last this week so far.

Deron and Nate on tap to be moved this week. Hopefully not Kobe.

The plan was to wait until Sunday, moving the two to Calderon and someone in the sub-$8m vicinity - perhaps Roy.

Nate's injury has me reconsidering that, although I don't have enough cash to move Nate=>Calderon alone. And although Roy and Deron have the same schedule patter for the next 4 days, I'd rather wait to make that swap.

The return of T.J. Ford gives some pause to picking up Calderon, although at Calderon's price, I still don't think there's a better option, even if Calderon's PT is cut by 20-25%. I suppose Monta Ellis is a possible option, but GS has a 2-in-8 starting 2 days after the break.

So I guess I just sit on Nate for today and see what happens. If Kobe has to be moved, that would change the picture dramatically.

I've got a decision to make by tomorrow.

The next planned moves are Nate/Deron=>Calderon/Roy.

If Nate were healthy, the best time to make that move is on Sunday, after both Deron and Nate finish back-to-backs. But Nate is not healthy.

Meanwhile, Roy also plays a back-to-back at the same time, although the first is at Detroit, which generally (but not always) puts a damper on fantasy points. And Calderon plays only once.

If Nate is going to put up near-squadooshes, then I should probably move early. 2 Roy games plus a Calderon game should keep pace with 2 Deron games plus 2 gimpy Nate games.

I've also got $840K of room to make the move. The window will certainly narrow if I wait. Whether it closes is speculative, but if Nate takes a few more 3-digit price hits, it could get tight. And I don't have enough cash to move Nate without also moving Deron at the same time.

So my inclination is to make the move early. From a price standpoint, the trade should be made today, even though none of the four play today.

After those 2 trades, I have 2 available trades with no imminent plans for them. I do have Brad Miller, but I don't think his situation warrants a trade.

And then there's Kobe. From a schedule standpoint, there is certainly no reason to move him. But the trend is not good, whether due to the finger dislocation or the addition of Gasol. He's probably not worth $12M - and I wouldn't buy him now at that price. But is he worth selling?

I guess that depends on two factors: (1) how much will his price decline in the near term, and (2) how would the funds be redeployed?

That's the issue I have to grapple with today. After the spate of DNPs, I hate to blow a trade on a reasonably healthy player near the beginning of a trade week.

Is anyone else thinking of torpedoing Kobe?

I am Guru (torpedoing Kobe) He isn't worth his price and I would love to upgrade Daniels. However, I am struggling with weather or not it is worth a trade or two in this case. I think his weak production is more due to his finger than Gasol.

I think the schedule for Kobe is too good to be trading.
If you could effectively redeploy those funds then it might be worth considering, but all too often we sell a high price player who isnt living up to his price and dont use the funds to gain any points.
I would look at it from the standpoint of who do you really want to get and then decide if getting those players would require the funds from Kobe.
If I didnt find any killer moves I would just hold Kobe.

I will probably move Dwight to Z today and use the money to upgrade Nate.

Thought about trading Kobe so I could upgrade A. Johnson. However I couldn't find any replacements for Kobe today that I actually wanted on my team. Thought about Bosh, but that loses me a game. Thought about Jefferson or Paul, but if I wait until the 12th I gain a game. Thought about Z, but I'd be surprised if he keeps up his recent production (his season average is only 31 points/game). A. Johnson would be upgraded to Calderon (now that Ford is back he's still a good value, but I doubt he'll average more than 32-34 points/game with the reduced minutes) or Rondo.

I also would like to dump Jamison, but his next three matchups (Den, GS, Pho) are extremely fantasy friendly.

Currently I plan on holding, but when significant numbers people start talking about dumping a player it sometimes quickly becomes very expensive to do so.

I guess my "Plan B" would be this:

Move Kobe/Nate to Calderon/Roy today (or tomorrow). Hold Deron until Sunday, and then move him to someone - probably Dirk.

That would also free up about $3m that I could eventually use to upgrade Boone to a mid-priced player.

I don't consider Kobe to be a "must sell", but with back-to-back games in the 20s, a dislocated pinkie, and high ownership, there are certainly reasons to take evasive action.

Feeling trade-happy, so I've been trying to find some way to trade Kobe or Jamison that makes sense, but I haven't been able to come up with anything. And Kobe is liable to put up 60 or 70 TSN points at any time, so I'm holding both players until at least the 12th then reassessing. Briefly thought about Brad Miller to Z, but at this point in the season I want my center spots to be occupied by players who regularly average more than 40 TSN points/game (ie. Miller, Kaman, Duncan, Jefferson, Yao, possibly Gasol, etc.). Ideally these players wouldn't miss any games with injury either, but since Miller was considering playing yesterday, I expect he'll play tomorrow.

Guru - I agree with you with respect to Kobe. My problem is that on my team the money from Kobe would be used to upgrade Johnson. I have Josh Smith as a F, so I need to buy at least one guard as part of the package. I already have Roy. That means I would have to buy either Calderon or Rondo for Johnson and either Jefferson or Z or Bosh for Kobe. At this point I don't feel it worth two trades to do that. Kobe for Paul on the 12th works much more smoothly for my team.

I will probably move Kobe on the 12th for Paul or Miller. I do agree with Guru that he isn't worth the 12M. I don't see any reason to sell him today as that doesn't gain me a game. At this point in the season, I am trying not to make a trade unless it has a significant point game to it. I'm also trying to make past saturday with 2 trades because it's injury season.

I forgot to mention, the main reason I'm not selling him today is that to make use of his cash would require the use of 2 trades, and there is no way I'm leaving myself with 1 trade this early in the week. As WK pointed out, you need to make use of that cash and if I'm not doing it before Tuesday, then I'm not selling Kobe before Tuesday.

The good news is that I followed my own long-standing advice yesterday and "when in doubt, did nothing". So I didn't get stuck with Roy.

I did make the move on a couple of my teams, but not this one.

I'm confused as to what I should do with Howard and A Johnson. I have had Howard for 6 games now and he has not reached his average for even one of those games. He has underperformed for a total of 60 tsnp averaging 38/g over that stretch. I was initially going to hold, but I really don't see the point with his current production. He is one of my differential players, so a poor performance from him hurts.

Johnson is another problem. His minutes have significantly dropped. Despite him being a tsnp/minute guy, it doesn't help much when he is playign 18 minutes a game and only seeing the bench in the second half.

Problem is, I don't see any worthwhile outs for them and Howard does have a 6 in 9 right after the break.

Yehosh i got same ordeal ... i fell 1 trade short last week to go the universal HOWARD>DUNCAN

whats funny is YOU were the one that suggested taking him but then trading to duncan that day lol

anyways i dont know what to do either ... a smart move might have been to trade to nowitzki after last refresh .... if he was averaging 45 then he would no doubt be a hold til after break but now im thinking of dropping him too

things to keep in mind though is that no1 really sticks out shechule and performancewise unless you downgrade him and upgrade a cheapie

another thing is that he has already lost considerably and i can't see him losing much more anymore

Yehosh,
I've been thinking about Howard all day... I have the flexibility (and you do too!!!) to move Howard to Chris Paul toady.... My biggest mistake so far this year has been to not have Paul on my team yet.
I have fixed that today!!! Paul is OUTPERFORMING Howard on a TSNP/gm recently.. Schedules are pretty equal; and the move protects some TSN$$$$.
That cash allows me to go A.Johnson to Calderon. Only bad thing for me is I have to skip AJ's game today because my cash window is ZERO and I see the two going opposite direction tonight.
My $0.02.. from the bottom looking up!

thanks for the advice

JMISA, that was the plan, but with all the injuries, I had to hold Howawrd and sell an injured player for Duncan. Also, I bought Dirk from the injured Butler 9 days ago. Come to think of it, like everybody else, all of my recent moves were due to injuries.

Another factor is, Howard was supposed to be my IN for Duncan on the 28th when I rebuy duncan on the 28th, and I really like that smooth transition.

Regaring Paul, I was also considering

AJ+Kobe+Jamison->Paul+Miller+Calderon on tuesday (except for AJ->Calderon which is wednesday)
My current window for this move is 1.3M which I think should hold, although I can see if being close with Calderon and Paul gaining early.

If move Howard instead of Kobe, that prevents me from having cash to upgrade AJ to Calderon on Wednesday.

The only reason I survived last week was by following Guru's philisophy of "when in doubt, hold", so I think I'll stick to this plan and hold Howard.

I am moving Crawford to Calderon tomorrow. I have Daniels and can't wait to move him. Getting him a couple of weeks ago is the main reason for my freefall down the standings. However, I wont have the $$ to get someone worth the trade until later this week. Even if he misses the next two games I am going to hold. He's been averaging about 10 TSNp since I picked him up so it is only likely to cost me 20 points and a few $$ since he has low ownership.

I don't know if I want to sell Carter. I really feel like I can make better use of that trade elsewhere. Diaw only gains 1 game over Carter and Carter has a 12 in 20 after his 6 in 14

Overall, he is getting minutes and producing reasonably well. so unless Diaw starts producing at a 30/g rate, I don't think going Carter->Diaw would be worth the trade.

We've gotten crushed by Soulman's team over the past two days. They outscored us by about 750! And we're now almost 500 behind them. Wha' happened?

Without a lot of analysis, it looks like a relative shortage of Duncan, Jamison, and Kobe were the main culprits.

I had all of those but my Daniels DNP's have not helped.

My dilema for today.
I have two trades left.
My piorities are to drop AD and get Paul.
Obviously I dont have the cash for that move.

So the question is do I Drop Antwan and get a Forward for 3.26.....or do I drop Kobe and get someone like Rondo?
Dropping Kobe will give me 7.14 for a G or F.

My tentative plans...

Kobe to Paul today.
Duncan to Rondo today.
Boone to Amare tomorrow.

Duncan doesn't have to be moved (and certainly not to Rondo!) But the real moves are Kobe=>Paul, Duncan=>Amare, and Boone=>Rondo. Doing them in the sequence listed above allows me to pick up an extra game from Rondo in the process.

Moving Duncan to Amare isn't really necessary, but it will pick up 2 games through Feb 27, when I'd plan to move from Amare to Duncan. I could simply hold Duncan for awhile longer - possibly even moving to Amare sometime next week for the same relative pickup in GP. But doing it this way gets me the extra Rondo game tonight, and also optimizes the financial swings.

Frankly, moving out of (a healthy and productive) Duncan now doesn't seem quite right, given all of the recent DNP turmoil. But I'll have three trades holding over the break, which will become seven before the next planned move. Duncan's ownership has probably peaked, and with no back-to-back games to stimulate any temporary buying prior to his BTB off days, I'm concerned that his price will be heading into steady decline over the next week.

thinking about using my last one for this week on a gimpy Ilgauskas into a cut finger Brad Miller... just feels like "inspired moves" like this might be what's slowing my progress down!! Any thoughts?

part of the drop in our team standings is due to my team having a bad week. Should have sold Howard and picked up Calderon earlier. Oh well, nothing I can do to change the past.

So now I'm trying to figure out which option is better:

1) 8 Kobe + 2 AJ

2) 7 Howard + 1 Duncan + 1 Calderon

Regardless, I'm going Jamison->Miller to gain a game.

If I sell Howard instead of Kobe, I can't get Calderon until WEdnesday, so I hold AJ throughout the ASB week. If I sell Kobe, I can go AJ->Calderon tomorrow.

Trading Carter for either Stojakovic or Rondo today. Want to pick up Rondo because of his recent production and slighly better schedule. Stojakovic allows me to save money and use his GF status to pick up Deron Williams instead of Boozer from Nowitzki on the 26th (which would save another 1.5 million as well). If I picked up Rondo I could trade Nowitzki to Al Jefferson on the 19th instead.

Which option does my team prefer:
A. Stojakovic/D.williams
B. Rondo/Boozer on the 26th
C. Rondo/Jefferson on the 19th

Will be trading Duncan to Amare today as well.

Thought of another option:
D. Rondo/Jefferson on the 26th

A chunk of the drop is me too. Been really busy the last little bit and haven't had much time to spend on teh teams, sorry guys...

I seem to have most of the main guys, but my secondary trades have all fallen flat - a lot of bad performances, trading for Roy and getting 2 DNPs, now J Howard.

Am looking at making 3 moves to try to get back into synch...

Nowitzki(hate to move him, but....) becomes Stoudamire

Josh Howard -> Warrick

Anthony Johnson -> Nash

Any thoughts?

well I guess I deserved it. Howard iwth 60+ and obviously the day after I sell him. For ****s sake, I have him for 7 games and he doesnt reach his average once and even fights with his coach.

ok, I went Dirk and AJ to Roy and Turk with the Turk->Gino move planned for next thursday

I have a 350K window for going

Duncan+Carter->West+Calderon

The reason I dont have Calderon yet is because I'm an idiot, so feel free to bash me for it. I think the window will hold, but its a tuesday and crazier things have happened.
