Congratulations on winning the title in another down to the wire finish this year. I am sure it makes up for 2 years ago.

Copied from Bandwagon-Thread (overlooked this one):

Congratulations to dpr, was fun to watch the close race and seeing a slamdunker escaping a bandwagon!

Congrads DPR on a awesome season! It's one neither of us will ever forget. Like someone mentioned in another thread, we scored over 35,800 points, and it was decided by 23.5 points.

You were the man for most of the season, and you deserve this. Like I said before, I'm just thankful I could atleast make you very nervous the final month of the season.

I've played alot of competitive sports all my life, but I never thought the most competitive and strategic thing I would ever play would be on a computer against someone I couldn't see. This was a classic battle, and I enjoyed the heck out of it. I want to thank you for this great experience.

I'm not going to lie to you, I am sick this morning. 23.5 points is just one wrong move, and my mind is remembering every one of them. I will forever remember the night that Cleveland lost and won a game on the same night when after the game was over, the refs called them back out from the locker room to shoot the game winning free throws. That is classic!

Have a great off-season, and hopefully all of us will be competing again next season.

Congrats dpr.

Too bad TSN kept you from really concentrating on your RIBC draft....you suck! ;-)

Just messing with you. Great job and a mostly-dominant year that went down to the wire.

Kudos again, dpr.

23.5 points is close. Nothing like 2001 ( I think ), the year I won and nosed Blackjackis21 by 8.5. Now, that was close.
It all came down to Ricky Davis vs Michael Finley. Who would have thought.

Congrats dpr! A well-deserved victory after you've dominated all season long. Even more impressive as I believe you did it fielding only a single team and still held off many superstar managers with multiple teams. What a great job you did, so enjoy every bit of your victory!

You would've deserved it two years ago already and it's good to see you finally got your ring. And as a spectator I didn't mind at all that your race with Bandwagon was absolutely fun to watch and truly a classic! :)

With all the respect due to BW, well deserved win dpr. Taking the lead early January and hanging on 3 months and a half is very impressive, especially when you have a bulldozer right behind your neck with multiple options. Very solid nerves needed. Kudos.
Now you have the precious, I'm sure it's going to be difficult to claim it back next year!

#2 - It's amazing how much work and though goes into this game, I couldn't agree more. People who don't play or only played real casually back in the Smallworld days don't get it. My friends are always saying, "Can't you just take one night off? It's not the end of the world." I don't think I have to convince anyone here what a ridiculous suggestion that is. It's really a never-ending job from October to April, and so mentally draining. I really feel like there's a season and an off-season.

I know that sick feeling, it didn't go away for a long time for me. I still find myself thinking about when I sold Lebron for Duncan last year, if I had just gotten to my computer five seconds earlier or five seconds later... I still even think about taking Mourning over Nazr several years back. It looks like there will be a next year at least according to some post I read, something I was worried about all season long.

And congrats dpr, you've been putting on a clinic all season long. I remember back in December thinking holy crap, how is he 3 million ahead of everyone already.

Looking forward to next year already, have a great summer guys.

Thanks for all the congratulations guys. it was an enjoyable season. It is crazy how close things ended up as there are countless moves which could have been made to make up the small difference.

In refernece to post 6 I should point out that i did start the year with 2 teams, one day late and one normal. The day late team fell behind and with this team doing so well it fell to the back burner. I kept it up all year but didnt plan my moves like you need to and simply traded to win the division finihing with like 15 trades. So 2 teams.

With all the references to next year. Lets just hope it happens. Even a disapointing season would be better then none at all.

And yea Species if Ultimate basketball goes so does all my fantasy skills. That draft I took so many starting pitchers, Dave Bush, TIm Wakefield, El Duque...not sure how any of them can help a team ERA. Add in studs like CC with an ERA of watever and C Young over 5 and my pitchers arent getting it done. Hitters are alright but top 2 guys there even suck

I'm sure the $1250.00 you stole from the real 3rd and 4th place finishers will
be a consolation to you. Smug cheater.

Good heavens, leave it already and stop repeating yourself, boy! We got it that you are frustrated and want everybody to know. Now here's a hint that will help you to avoid frustration: Play the game for the love of the game and not for the money!

Think about it.
