... I don't think it's that great of a trade. Billups and Hamilton are like brothers. They have amazing chemistry.

Both teams needed a shake-up. Billups will give the Nuggets a true pg that will pass first but also will still be Mr. Big Shot when needed down the stretch. Anthony becomes the teams primary scorer again and he doesn't need to share with A.I. anymore.
Detroit wants Stuckey to be a starter and eventually run the offense. My guess is Prince will end up as the 6th man either immediately or very soon, and Hamilton can stretch the defense more from the 3 spot. Prince will still be called on to play solid D against the other team's best player and so Hamilton/Prince will be used as matchups dictate. Prince will have his value dimished the most from a fantasy perspective I believe. Iverson gives them a reliable scorer and will bring more excitement to an otherwise boring team.

Just wondering what people think, if any, impact this will have on J.R. Smith. Last year Iverson played 42 mpg compared to Billups who played 32. Could this mean J.R. will get closer to 30 mpg than 25? If this is the case, his stock will rise soon, especially with Denver's great schedule that begins in a few days. He has already gone up money the last few days, and he is a great buy at under 2 million. Buy away boys!!!!

Don't forget about Anthony Carter. He's a stable vet, and will still get minutes, with or without Billups. Smith may stay around the same. Maybe increase slightly. But not a ton, IMHO. As always, his play with affect his minutes.
I'm happy about Billups though. I felt he was limited a bit this year in Detroit, and now he's being let out of prison. Can't wait.

I do not see how Detroit becomes a better team with Iverson...the team was great due to Chemistry between the guys. Billips could and knew how to feed the other players. Will be interesting how AI puts on a show for less wins as usual.

A motivated Iverson can basically will a team to victory. See the 2001 playoffs for an example. I'd be excited if I were a Detroit fan. I'll be rooting for them this year.

Yeah, I don't see this trade helping them at all this year. Iverson and Rasheed come off the books at the end of the year so they'll have $35M to work with. It's a rebuilding move and good for Cleveland/Boston/Philly/Orlando.
