what are your thoughts on nate robinson? It seems he will lose money but from a point perspective will match his alternatives.

Also on people stuck with azubuike. I moved him to mbah a moute which isnt a very exciting move but as I didnt have much cash to spare and also need to free money for dwight it was all there seemed to be.

Who are the upcoming attractive cheapies

Maybe not this week, but as an "upcoming" cheapie, Trevor Ariza looks interesting. Apparently just about to come out of gravity, but not likely to jump out entirely until after his 1-in-5 about to start.

he does look good. I remember noticing him when he strong together his first 4 20TSNP games. I forgot about him tho and it looks like he has increased his output. the minute are still low tho which is worrysome. Is there a reason he played more the last 2 games? should that continue?

But yes he does look like a decent pick up in a week and a good one in 2 weeks.

I'm really glad Robinson plays tonight, if he has a strong performance yesterday should be forgotten. I'm hoping he can make it to either the end of the week, or at least until Ariza's an option.

I have the same questions and thoughts about Robinson. Tonight may answer some questions. If he puts up 30 it shouldn't be too bad but if not, the slow bleed may start. The biggest challenge outside of few decent options to move too is the game spread.

Yeah, there are several highly owned cheapies with schedules running out. It'll be interesting to see how many people blow a trade on a relatively well performing cheapie for an inferior option.

Azu -> Brewer for me. Seems like an upgrade and Brewer can hopefully be held 25 days.

I don't have Robinson but have Chandler and would like to hold past tomorrow. A lot of Knicks fans in the house tonight I guess.

Also, what are Daniels chances to make it safely through the 1-in-5 ? The other side of the schedule is ok but not so great.

I think Daniels will take a decent hit that first day, a follow up hit the second day, and then he'll start going up in price again (provided Dunleavy doesn't magically come back).

For what it's worth, I finally decided to buy Daniels two nights ago and I usually never get on players that late.

If you do a little Sartables work you see that Daniels actually fares pretty well compared to the field. I looked at a time period starting with his first day off (11/16) and ending with his last back to back (12/3), a span of 18 days, and there are only two players under 5mil that project higher than him (using full season stats).

Of course, past performance is no guarantee of future returns, as they say, but it's something to consider...

I'm hoping all of the would-be Azubuike sellers get out today, a heavy trading day, thereby containing his losses.

We'll just have to wait and see on Daniels. I agree that you can't do much better than him, even with a temporary downturn in his schedule, so hopefully people either hold on or come back.

This early in the season, I'm gonna keep a couple cheapies, regardless of their schedule. Not enough trades to be bouncing in/out of guys because they may be heading into a 1-in-5.

#12 I went to Nene from him. Can't miss the money even though a lot is already gone. The potential swing could be like -100k and +100k, so a difference of ~200k.

yea looks like it. the column was incorrect anyways. yesterday it was showing hawes had over 100 percent ownership. was using something like 1500 in the denominator. Not sure if they are fixing it or jsut took it away

It came up in Game Issues and Questions. darnott explains "The percentage has been removed because it's not useful as it's currently calculated. For specific reasons too esoteric to explain (and really, I barely understand why it's this way myself), a simple percentage can't be displayed in its place at the moment, so it'll be left as is until a better solution is found."

Seems even the TSN guys didn't know what the problem was.

I remember the season that Jermaine O'Neil broke out in Portland, he was only 500k to begin with as well. The optimal strategy at that season was to have the two O'Neils throughout the entire season, it is appearing Hawes is heading that way too and we all compete with 9 positions.

Curious about managers' plans to hold the young, cheap and rather productive young Knicks (Chandler and Robinson) through this soft sked.

I'm thinking of holding Nate, but leaning toward turning Wilson into Luc Richard. Being in Milwaukee, I can see MaM's growing confidence as well as (and perhaps more important) Skiles' trust in him.

Show of hands?

11/30 is a really scary date.
Sell date for MIl, Sac, OKC
As well as possible one for UTA, MIA and SAC

I have 9 players on those teams

dpr,

I think you are like most but you actually have more trades to work with than most. An injury to a key players in the days leading up to the 30th could be very costly to those who aren't prepared.

Waiting until after the game on the 18th to lok at moving NY players. Not very good schedules with other teams the next couple days. MIL is getting Redd back, so those cheapies become questionable.

Skip2mylou

I am holding Chandler on 4 teams thru tomorrow. At that time I will see what happens. If Chandler goes for 40 on Tues it will be hard to sell and if he goes for 17 he will be hard to keep.

As for Luc M&M who you are considering today, isn't it too late? When I look at the schedule, I see Mil players starting to be sold off as early as 9 days from now and as late (but costly) as 13.

Do you really want a cheapie for 9-13 days?

I have a lot of trades and plan on holding both Knicks, at least for today. All of the guard options from Nate are heavily owned already or poop, and I think Chandler could end up being very holdable throughout all of this (and Nate too possibly).

Also, with Wade's status in the air, I'd hate to make a decision tonight only to have everything change if Wade is out tomorrow. People have been much more rational this year too in terms of giving players chances - I thought Salmons was going to be -150k the other night when I (foolishly?) sold him.

Re: 31

I agree that Sessions will most likely be gone by 11/30 largely due to the return of Redd, but if M&M manages to cement the 35-40 mpg he's been getting since starting I don't think it's overly optimistic to hold him into December.

Blooki,

We always buy these cheapies with intentions to hold them for forever don't we :).

I am just looking at Luc M&M and thinking that with 449 owners already he is the next Wilson Chandler in a few days.

Skiptomylou is talking about selling Wilson Chandler only to buy into another Wilson Chandler named Luc M&M in 9 days.

If he can't hold Wilson, is it realistic he could hold M&M.

Greed usually takes over and we have to sell for the money.

Holding Chandler for now, hopefully he'll avoid back2back stinkers. What are you guys planning to do with R. Mason?
I considered M&M but his schedule is too short for my taste. Thinking of getting Ariza early and see what happens with NY players tomorrow.

I have all these guys (NY duo, Hawes, Mason)in the same bowl. There aren't any "must have" cheapies to move to today. There are some interesting options available in the days to come but several of them are still 7 - 10 days away from reaching that ideal purchase date. Each day the ones I have perform at or above expectations is one more day I can keep them. If one of them tanks badly (see JR Smith), I am prepared to move them.

The issue, really, is money. We all have to consider and determine what is the reasonable cost of a trade.

Nate and Chandler have both played well and are widely held, but, starting today, they face a 1 in 4. And they will lose money as a result; combined the loss will be a minimum of $350 over the next 4 days, but could be as much as $650 -- depending on how they play tomorrow. Luc Richard is no better player than Chandler, but starting tomorrow, he has 8 in 13. So, he can't really compared to Chandler, whose trade inflection point is now, not two weeks from now.

All this being said, I think I am leaning toward holding both. But there certainly is risk in the decision to hold and the importance of their performance tomorrow is magnified. As others have said, if one or both play poorly again on the night of trade refresh, then holding will be more difficult.

Lots of good points and analysis though. Thanks for that.

Your one trade may have the most benefit on a Stoudemire to Howard move tonight. Thoughts on Robinson and Hawes are above. Neither need to be sold today since they play, but they need to be watched closely. Hawes is a C and entering a 5 in 7 so he may be safe for a while. If at least one of them performs, you should be able to save a trade or two next week with the rest of that line-up.

I would say Delonte West should go at the earliest opportunity. Gravity is too big a bullet to bite at this point in the season for mediocre production.

I would agree with Blooki if by earlist opportunity he means Thursday. Cle plays a B2B so i wouldn't trade West today and probably not tomorrow but would move him for sure on Thurs. Stoudemire is off for 2 days so you don't get any points from him and his losses the next two days will be far greater than any gravity hits West will see.

The crazy in me thinks the upswing in money and slight increase in points average makes a one week swap of Salmons for Rose viable.

Any thoughts?
