Subject: Tonight's 11/12 "BOS vs ATL Rematch" Action
Posted by: Blooki
- [119492312] Wed, Nov 12, 2008, 18:51
The undefeated Hawks team (6-0) that pushed the reigning NBA champions to the brink of elimination last postseason returns to Boston for the first time since losing in Game 7 of the 2008 playoffs.
As a basketball fan, of all the games on tap tonight, I will be most interested in the results of this one. |

Granger came down funny during pre-game shootaround. Went to get some treatment and is back on the court warming up. Indeterminate if it'll affect his status for the game.

Danny Granger did not start Wednesday's game against the Nets due to a quad cramp.
Brandon Rush got the start. We should know more on Granger's status later on, but the fact it's a "cramp" should mean he doesn't miss any more games with the injury.

Howard with a nice first half (barring a complete meltdown in the 2nd quarter).

D Wade is ridiculous; he should get 10 tsnp for some of those finishes.

And Howard, who I don't have yet, making me (and others) pay: 47 tsnp with 2 minutes left in the SECOND quarter. My God.

Doesn't look like Howard will be required much in the 2nd half, though.

Howard with a nice first half.
Howard actually played a lot of garbage minutes in the last. I wonder if he will play more simply because their schedule is spread out or if they will rest him because of his knee in this one.

Well, as soon as he gets 2 more blocks he can take the night off as far as I'm concerned.

Watching Howard tonight, knowing he is not on my team, is like watching Godzilla destroy Tokyo. I just feel helpless at the seeming inevitability of a 90+ night.
At least Chandler has 49.

It's fun for us fantasy whores to root for Howard, but if I was the owner, I would have pulled him out of the game long ago. Not worth having your franchise player get hurt in a blowout.

"I think you have to give our perimeter players a lot of credit to get beat off the dribble that many times to allow him to get 10 blocks," Van Gundy joked. "I think that they definitely did their part in that. They were very, very helpful, so I think he owes part of it to them."

Some credit should also go to Russ Westbrook, who managed to take 19 shots, making three, and getting five of the rest wiped away, presumably by Howard (although there were 16 Orlando blocks in the game)...
I like that Westbrook's getting the green light to shoot the ball, but 3 for 19? Pass the ball, fer pete's sake! Especially when I don't own Howard!!
