0 Subject: Week 5 Trade Thread

As always, it should be an interesting week. Injuries and poor performances/choices have robbed me of that elusive "banked trade". I put the belief in the existence of a "banked trade" in the same category as Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny.

Morrow --> ??
Mil players --> ??
Sakmons, Hawes, Miller --> ??
Wade --> ??

Just a few of the questions that will have to be asked this week.

You should be more pleased day after day as he gets cheaper and cheaper.

Holding for now and reevaluating tomorrow. Washington got destroyed by Orlando last time, and tomorrow's options I think stand to gain more money over the next few days. Jamison I could see remaining in gravity until Tuesday.

I did 50-50.

Bynum --> Jamison x 2

Bynum holding thru 1 DNP x 2

I held Azu thru 1 DNP and it is one of the best decisions I made this year.

Maybe that says something about the year I have had :(

I really don't know what to do about Thaddeus Young. In five days I'll have a lot of money to upgrade him, but right now I only have 5.12. I don't think he's holdable for five more days, especially with him having lost already last night and then putting up a 5.5. Holding Chandler in the first place I guess was the right move. I'm thinking about cutting my losses and just grabbing Ariza for the money. I may have as much as 7 million sitting in the bank for awhile, but that may not even be a bad thing, things tend to go wrong suddenly. Meh.

I am dealing young for chandler today to avoid the massive $$ loss... Sucks to have to do it with his good schedule.
I am planning to grab ariza from hawes Sunday...

Just wondering when people are trading Wade. I hate the thought of dropping him when his next game is against Golden State. Do you guys think Wade's losses will be particularly bad considering how many players will be widely sold tomorrow (Hawes, Salmons, Mbah a Moute, Sessions, Biedrins, Stephen Jackson even with low ownership)?

I doubt Wade would take any significant hit today, maybe at between 30k to 50k, given how all these must moves you mentioned above. Also I think by observing the Hawes sell off tonight and Wednesday we should have a pretty good gauge of how many dead teams out there early in the season.

Anyone concerned that Rasho has begin to play like, well, Rasho, and is starting a 4-10?

Following a -20K last night on a game day, I'm thinking maybe -100K today.

Rasho owner here and I'm going to move him to Ariza today. He's just not getting enough minutes to be productive, and the matchups in those upcoming 4 games aren't exactly fantasy friendly either, Boston twice, Bynum/Gasol, Z.

I'm stuck with Rasho until new trades. I had too many must moves already this week. I haven't been doing very well $$$-wise lately :(

Rasho's matchups are actually favorable in a way: the Celtics and Lakers may be great teams but they play big lineups, unlike the last two teams the Pacers played. Rasho played very well in March and April last year and I'd like to stay with him at least through Wednesday, but he's on a short leash.

I agree. Boston, LAL, and Cleveland could be real good for him, and he was great at the end of last year. I'm hoping his losses today will be muted due to the other must sells today.

I wonder how bad of a hit Biedrins and Wade are going to take. The options after their next games are a lot more attractive than the options today, so I'm hoping people are going to be patient with them. Also I'd like to think the mass selling of the Sacramento players will mute any of their losses.

I agree, there are so many players to move that the loss on any given player will be muted.

I wonder if I'd be crazy to go Nesterovic to David Lee today. In a perfect world I'd like to hold Nesterovic forever, but he's moved so much and I don't know if some 20s are going to be enough to stop a long bleed out. Argh.

I just tried mapping out my rotations for the next month or so and it's impossible. Every transition is ugly and it doesn't seem like there's a way to get all of the must haves. Maybe I should just grab Lee now for the money, and then pick Nesterovic back up at a cheaper price in a couple weeks.

It does feel wrong to buy into a player with two days off, but he did go off in a noticeable way last night so you know there's some money that's going to be made on him. Kind of wish I made the move yesterday...but at that point I was still holding Nesterovic until March. Ugh.

SU: what's your opinion of Lee vs Harrington? They are now both FC and pretty much the same price. There's this floating theory out there that Jefferies may start at center once returns from injury, which is prompting me to lean towards Harrington over Lee.

Yeah I'm trying to figure that out too. What worries me about Harrington is that traditionally he seems to be pretty reliant on scoring, though he's no longer in Nelson's system. Lee I get the sense is more likely to have big explosions, but yeah, there is the Jeffries factor. I'm still leaning towards grabbing Lee but I could be insane. I'm really glad I didn't make the Rasho-Przybilla move that was probably pretty popular today.

I should also note that due to my horrible rotations, I'll probably only need Lee for five or so games.

Went to Lee. I thought Nesterovic would be at -100k at least. Also great to see Bynum go up and put up two good games in a row after I sell him, thinking he's done for awhile. Ugh.
