Congratulations on winning TP1 all!

Unfortunately we had to bid farewell to Philsphan and Donkey Hunter.

Welcome to Soetal though! Looking forward to your help in repeating our winning ways.

really do not like that -20K from garnett last night... maybe I screwed up money wise..
Maybe I've been playing too long; the sage advice "do not make emotional decisions about fanatasy basketball players." For the last five years, Garnett has been the must have stud and my teams have always performed better when I've had him on my team. He looks cheap to me at $9M this year but maybe there are too many stars in boston for him to be fantasy relavent this year. I guess I'm gonna find out over the next couple of weeks; but night one is a BIG disappointment for me.. not so much because of the 39 TSNP but because of the minus 20K.

I had been planning to move Paul to Duncan today, and then Camby back to Paul later in the week.

The pricing snafu give me much less room to work with, but on the assumption that Paul-Camby price gap will narrow by at least $150K, I'll just barely make it. (It would have been much safer with an extra $500K in cash, however - which I should have had.)

I'm expecting that some teams will actually move Paul=>Camby=>Paul over the next 5 days, so that even to the extent that Paul gets some buys before 12/23 and Camby gets some sells after his 4-in 5 (12/21), the swing should still work out. Anyone disagree?

I suppose I should also factor in the possibility that Stuckey's price will be incorrectly inflated again tonight, and I'll lose another $270K in cash. That would screw things up.

At this point I have no faith in TSN's price swings working in our favor for narrow windows. I have the exact same problem as Guru. Was planning Paul>Duncan and Bosh>Paul on 12/23. That plan is history based on last night's glitch. I'm going to try and use this glitch as an opportunity to go a little cheaper into a longer term hold and free up a bit more cash.

Plan B: Paul>Yao
Not the player I wanted initially but not a bad alternative I believe.

The Raptors and Bosh are a mess right now, as a result I'm probably going Bosh>Paul on 12/20 instead of 12/23. I'll take my chances on 1 Paul vs. 2 Bosh right about now.

Re: 6

So you're essentially using 1 trade to gain 1 Bosh game and the net price swing of Bosh's gains and Paul's losses over the next two days.

Somehow I don't think that's the best use of a trade. Are you sure you wouldn't rather go Bosh to Yao directly if Yao is the guy you want?

Thanks for pointing that out Blooki. I guess I'm not thinking too clearly from being so steamed about this glitch affecting my original plans.
This would allow me to bank a trade(probably not) or address another issue this week.

Well, it's looking more and more like TSN isn't going to amend their "fix." Time to plan accordingly.

Would you rather have Yao and Rondo or Howard and Rose, assuming Howard plays?

I'm getting a pretty strong sense that TSN is not going to fix this mess, so I need to figure out how to adjust, if needed.

I still like the idea of Paul to Duncan, since I already have Camby queued up to move back into Paul. As long as I have no intervening injuries, my price projections are not unduly optimistic (re: Camby vs. Paul), and TSN doesn't make another error and take away more of my scarce cash, I should be able to follow through. Using one trade to get 3 Duncan games instead of 1 Paul game seems like a good tradeoff.

But if I'm wrong and the window closes, I'm not sure what my fallback will be. That's maddening, because I should have had plenty of margin for error.

I happaned to be online shortly before 7pm last night, and noticed the Granger illness - so quickly swapped him for Durant. I needed a GF in that slot - and hadn't been planning to sell Granger at all - but with the possibility of 4 straight off days (Murphy was already out for his second game in 3 days from the same bug, so BTB Granger DNPs seemed likely) - I figured I'd better act fast. I had already planned to swap Jamison into Durant on another team if Jamison DNP'd, so I was familiar with Durant's price, sched, and position flex - and it was an easy fit.

That leaves me with Camby to Paul on Tuesday, plus one contingency trade. Next week, Duncan and Bonner will go, probably to Camby and some cheap F. Charlie V was one thought, although he sputtered last night, against the Knicks, no less. Blatche may be a better option, and that move could efficiently happen as soon as tomorrow (wish I had taken Blatche instead of Bonner in the first place.) I may wait, though, as I don't really want to use my last available trade on Sunday. We'll see whether Bonner give me any reason to hold him after tonight's game.

All of which means that I'm pretty much wedded to Hawes for his next lull. That's OK.

At one point, I had been looking for ways to fit Paul and Wade both into the lineup. But with Rondo, Harris, and Stuckey all providing such good value, I'm tabling that idea for the time being.

Calderon to Rondo for me today. I might also move Hawes for Blatche in order to free up cash since my Camby to Paul window just barely closed. If I move Hawes today, I'd then have a window of $140k for Camby to Paul on Tuesday. Any chance that will be enough?

Now leaning to moving Hawes to Blatche today. Hawes is showing no reason to be held through the next 10 days - and there are other cheap options. Blatche should be center eligible in a couple more games as well.

I have a .24 buffer to get from Camby to Paul tomorrow. I should make it barring some insane price movements.

Camby to Paul for me today.

Wish I had gone with Yao instead of Duncan a few days ago.

In the next week, my moves will be Duncan and Bonner. Considering Yao or Camby from Duncan, and Diaw from Bonner.

Both Yao and Camby are injury risks. With Camby, I also have to assess the impact if/when Kaman returns.

Diaw's schedule isn't great, but at his price if he can put up 30s, it's good enough.

Re: 24

ki, even if you can't get Paul today I would recommend trying to get him tomorrow. I believe Paul is potent enough to warrant some pretty inefficient trading. I'm all for going against the grain, but passing on Chris Paul is not the spot to pick IMO.

I haven't crunched the numbers, but would Vince/Biedrins to Paul/Lee work tomorrow? Try not to be fixated on the game count. The way Biedrins and Lee have been playing, you're only giving up a handful of TSNP and you're sure to net a hefty TSND swing on that move alone. Upgrading Carter to Paul should be a big win in both TSNP and TSND.

blooki,
your suggestion in 28 would work... my only cost would be one Biedrins game... I do think the money should be there... got about 24 hours to think about it... thank you for the suggestion!

Whoops, I wasn't really paying attention the last few days and forgot to look at moving T-Mac. I see he's expected to play tonight so that's good but Houston has 8 games in 13 days where one of the off days is a non game holiday. Meh, I really don't want to have to check in before tip off every night so hopefully he can get it together.

I've got Biedrins to deal with. My most likely options are either Granger or Lee, and I could move today, or wait until Jan 1 for either. (I already have Camby.)

Any thoughts on the best one to get? From a GMD standpoint, I see that we are light on both players, relative to the other teams.

I like Granger alot and am getting him today for sure. Originally I planned T-Mac and Nene to Granger and Daniels which would put $5M on the bench with no imminent use. That Lee schedule is extra long term though so I may use him instead of Daniels whose numbers are probably inflated.

Making my first trades of the week...

Nene is going due to injury -> Lee
Biedrins is going due to schedule -> Camby (points were worth the wait)
Azubuike is going due to schedule -> Moute
