0 Subject: DPR's GMD (TP3)

Posted by: bd

I hope DPR is off enjoying the New Year somewhere (Maineac is guessing Aruba). In the meantime, here is a new TP3 thread for us.
TP3 we welcome Wolfer to the squad and bid good luck to DrD.

My team is hurting right now.... I have Harris, Mbah a Moute, & Blatche that are immediate concerns. Was going to go Harris back to Rondo but with having to go through these other trades I think I'll go Duhon instead for more $ for upgrades and a longer hold.
I couldn't fnd anything more than "questionable" for Blatche, so I am hoping to find out for sure if he is missing before pulling the trigger on trading him.
Toronto/Orlando tip off real early and there are other afternoon games. Good Luck guys.

On my moves:

I think I am going to move paul. Rondo makes a good reentry so I weas planning to move out of him for a triangle in a few days anyways. Hate doing it early but moving to duhon now allows me to get a respectable player out of mbah a moute/blatche which should exceed the points lost moving paul. Plus money will be with me.

Hello.... Hello... anyone out there?

Went Howard/Diaw --> Lee/Dirk today
I know I am very late getting into Lee but his schedule is still good for a while and his output has been great. Now I just need to hope that Curry coming back won't effect him very much.
What are plans for Granger...his schedule near the end of the week slows down? He has been great, are you holding? Selling? If selling, for whom and when?
Transition into Phoenix player is nice, but I have him at guard with no forward with flex so my option in Nash who hasn't been playing like the Nash of old.

Gonna play Granger by ear.

If he keeps his play up, will likely hold.

Bd,

You are not the only one without Lee. Debating when and if to get him. Really would like to keep Howard another game or two as he will certainly outscore Lee. I suspect you will be money ahead with the trade. Dirk is basically a 5 game hold to transition into Amare or Lebron, I assume for you.

Granger has been playing so well that I think I could hold him till all star if nothing better comes along. If traded I would be looking at a rotation to get him back or I would be tempted to hold which is similar to any move made with Camby at present.

bd,

Lee's schedule is just now getting good so you should at least make some money, and he's playing so well I think he's worth getting even though you missed the train.

I have no plans to trade Granger until after the All-Star break. His schedule picks right up after a minor downturn, his production has been awesome and there's a real dearth of G-F's worth owning this year. One of my teams has had Granger since November 11.

I am actually looking at granger in a few days out of Ming. Not too many options that I see and he still projects well over a couple weeks. I ahte getting into players late but the guard forward will also help future plans

that's a good point dpr...he'll gain on sunday...he'll lose a lot on tuesday, but he'll gain again on wednesday.

it actually looks like a pretty pain-free hold. less painful than Camby IMO.

I'm wondering what people are doing with Camby (I have him on my other teams but not my GMD team).

The player to get from Stuckey seems to clearly be Tyrus Thomas, who scares the hell out of me but is averaging 30.4 in his last 9 and has a 7 in 11.

I have no idea where to go from stuckey. I moved howard to millsap so I have enough money for anyone but the player must be a gaurd. I am planning to pick up granger tomorrow so I could jsut get him today but then tomorrow I will be facing the same problem. I wont need to get a guard then but getting one and having granger at forwardf helps facilitate future moves.

dpr,

Would Ben Gordon work or would his 4.09 price tag mess up next week's plans? Could Derrick Rose (who's been way down lately) fit? Or, if you really want to roll the dice there's Dunleavy, who has the added benefit of being a G/F. There's always the dreaded Luke Ridnour. How much can you spend on Stuckey's replacement?

Forgive me mates for I have sinned and will agin. I may end up skipping Millsap! I had planned all along to take him today for SPEIGHTS and now the Stuckey (to Thomas) injury has created a new plan where I keep SPEIGHTS and save the cash to get Lebron for Camby on the 12th and then a perfect move back to Camby on the 25th. I will be the only player in GMD with SPEIGHTS and without Millsap.

well for my immediate planned move i ahve about an extra million to move out of stuckey. I guess I could free up more by passing on amare and finding a cheaper option tho. Ideally tho I wouldn't use that extra million tho because I want to pick up lebron and camby in the next week and those moves I am currently .4 short of.

if I take dunleavy instead of granger or amare today then I can [pick up a player like gordon while also definitely allowing me to make my window in a week. i currently ahve ridnour on my team and dont really like it.

There's also Nate, who's been even colder than Ridnour.
Would Amare just be a bridge to Camby or would you keep him long term? I'd look for a cheaper alternative unless he's filling Camby's future spot.

Would Millsap figure to outscore Speights by more than LeBron would outscore Camby during the time you would figure to have one of them? Would you get Camby back from LeBron?
Millsap should make more than LeBron but Camby will lose money and Speights can't. However, Camby will start making money back well before the 25th and Speights you won't want back.
Without knowing who else you have, I'm not positive what I think you should do, but I thought I'd give you some food for thought.

First, is Stuckey definately out? I don't see him on injury reports and he shows up on probable line-ups (although I think those are made a few days in advance). I did see the article saying he was probably out but was hoping maybe his back loosened up overnight.
Second, I don't have flex to get T. Thomas and already have Duhon, Chandler & Lee from NY so not real excited about getting Nate.
Ridnour has been bad lately.
May just hold and see what happens as he starts a 4 in 5 in a few days.

One option I haven't heard mentioned is Steve Blake in Portland. He starts and his numbers have been better than Nate's or Luke's lately. I doubt he breaks out of gravity though.

I have pretty much decided to hold until game time and then go to Chalmers if need be. He has the same number of games as Thomas until I can get to someone I want next week.

I probably won't be here at gametime so went to Ben Gordon. Figured with Stuckey's ownership and two days off he would lose a bunch (even if he does play).

The article in the Detroit News says that Stuckey considers himself "highly doubtful", not just "doubtful" as Rotoworld says:

http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090110/SPORTS0102/901100342/1127

What Stuckey said could just reflect how he felt at that moment, and I can't find any updates (it's harder to on weekends) but I would sure guess that he won't play and it will be safe to drop him just because so many other people will.

CBG,

I came to my senses. It really is to complex to explain the projections but Speights to Millsap projects a lot better. I'll worry about Camby and Lebron later.

I don't think the recent Millsap news looks great. Hopefully we don't have to wait until the last minute to find out.

It would be nice to know by 7 as I would consider Bargnani who goes back into Millsap nicely on either 1/20 or 1/24 if he bounces back to the dominant form he had before I bought him.

I am going Perkins/Kidd to Stuckey/Duncan

The plan would be hold Duncan for the 5 game week and then go to Lebron but after last night will 5 Duncan be higher than 3 Lebron?

debatable...but it almost certainly wouldn't be better than 1 Kidd and 3 Lebron.

I would think about moving perkins for a cheap F today assuming he's not playing and moving Kidd for Lebron tomorrow. I think Lebron is a must on every team tomorrow...that's not a differentiator (that's not a word) that you want.

I might think about Perkins for Blatche...he only has 3 games this week but his long term schedule is a dream as are his matchups this week.

Then tomorrow move Granger to G and Kidd for Lebron.

I can trade Ariza for a player costing up to 4.66. Should I trade him for Bargnani before the freeze tomorrow or should I wait in case there's positive news on Millsap?

I'm very pleased to get Foye on the first possible logical day and to be rid of Kidd forever (eccch!)
