Subject: Starting Team?

Hm... the new layout and design of TSN confuses the hell out of me. Apart from that, who to buy for the season start? Any cheapies that you recommend? As for the starting stud I was thinking Chris Paul, as for midrange I have Greg Oden and lower end is Brandon Bass at the moment. Still need another 7... lol. |

Paul is a must have, but only if he is over the respiratory problems that have caused him to miss the last few preseason games.

I'm finding coming up with a starting team this year to be really challenging. Every time I settle on something, I realize I'm overlooking another two or three players. TSN really did a great job with the pricing this year I think, especially in the lower half of the price spectrum. We should see a lot of different rosters.

SU - this is my roster from another post (no one responded), but I'm doing the same thing. Keep changing 2-3 players repeatedly.
CP3, Flynn, Rondo, Douglas-Roberts Bass, Chandler, C Lee, Hollins Frye, Howard

I am sure you know this, but Bass is not starting.

Yup, that's one I keep switching. R Anderson is starting, but Bass does more skill from what I've seen.

I suspect whether he starts or not he will see between 20 and 25 minutes and get about 25 TSNP per game.

I sure would like to know whether Pecherov or Hollins will be starting for Twolves.

The toughest decision of all is not having LBJ. I keep waffling between him and Howard. Knowing that LBJ starts off a bit slower (even for him), I'll probably stick with Howard.

Most of what I've read has Hollins starting. He's got a more polished game than Pecherov.

Any thoughts on Demarre Carroll of Memphis?

Carroll's on my list too, but I can't find enough good info on him. Also digging for info on Butler and Jordan from the Clippers.

Agreed. He has no value unless there is an injury or 2 to the big 3 for the Clippers.

Jubo - looks like Hollins is backing up Gomes @ PF for now. Also looks like Bass is backing up Anderson @ PF.

Why do the stupid Clippers have to have such a good early schedule? Now Griffin busts his kneecap, and maybe Camby broke a rib turning over in his sleep. The Butler/Thornton thing is a mess. DeAndre Jordan is a beast when he plays but who knows how many minutes he will get. Kaman can be a stud at times but is he truly healthy and ready to play like he did 2 years ago? Somebody on this team will end up being a steal to start the year, but who?????

There are so many different good ways to put a team together this year because there is an abundance of cheapies (ie. less than 2.5 million). I agree with Senator Urine that TSN did an excellent job with pricing this year and as a result we will see a lot of different rosters

Man, this is fun.
Two guys that I haven't seen mentioned much are Corey Brewer and Julian Wright. They are also in the mix for my cheapie selection. Wright has been nicked a bit, but looks sets to start at SF for the Hornets, has a good schedule and fills the stat sheet in interesting ways. I also like Brewer -- who has an excellent schedule and produced very well in the (admittedly meaningless) pre-season -- but I'm undecided as to whether he or Gomes is the man to own in Minny. (Flynn is also on my roster). Finally, I'm passing on both Bass and Ryan Anderson because I just don't have a good enough feel as to how minutes will be split up between those two and Gortat.
Like I said, this is fun...

Gortat should not affect Bass or Anderson much since he normally plays at center. Barnes is another player that could hamper the other 2 though...

Does anyone know if DeAndre Jordan will be getting any minutes now that Griffin is hurt?

Its hard to predict because the clips have soooo many bigs. I worry about craig smith taking his mins even with blake out. That said, the lakers will blow out the clips tonight and there will be lots of garbage time for someone to put up a good line
