We welcome:
illmatic to the team.
Time for us to get up off the mat.
Im sure we will have a much better showing if the captain can avoid any more incomplete rosters.
Time to close the gap team......

Frye is certainly making a strong case for himself to be held. Glad I avoided D. Wright, though I'd like to find a way into Howard but don't know if it's possible. I'll reevaluate after a couple more games I guess.

Looking ahead, are you guys planning on holding or selling the Lakers at the refresh?

Trying to pull my team out of a slump, I've been making a ton of moves that have blown up in my face. Paul (of course) and Speights I'll be sticking with. Not having any flex also really sucks. Some questions for you guys:

- Hold or sell Frye? Likely replacement would be Howard.

- Are either of the Lakers holdable? I'm feeling as if I should keep one, but I'm not sure yet and the next two games will reveal a lot I'm sure. But that forces me to pick between...

- Boozer or Deron. The only way I can get both is if I give up both Lakers. I have a feeling a lot of us are going to be making this decision in a couple days.

- Tyreke's poor game came at a really bad time, but I'm just not seeing any good replacements. No good guards in his price range or lower it seems. I feel as if I have to hold until at least the refresh and I'm hoping many others do the same.

I should also note that one of my two trades is reserved as of now for Nash to either Wade or Deron depending on the Frye decision and the Deron / Boozer decision. Hate to see Nash go, he's really been my MVP this season.

Would I be insane to go tradeless right now by moving Frye for Juwan Howard and Nash for Wade?

I'm strongly considering moving Frye for Howard today regardless. As much as I'd like to keep Frye, looking ahead in two or three weeks when his schedule gets good I'm worried that his 2.5 price vs. Howard's 500k price essentially guarantees I have to give up one of my essentials in that period.

Am I overrating Howard? I'd be buying him with intentions of holding for weeks and weeks and weeks.

Ok, good thing I didn't go tradeless. Tyreke is listed as doubtful tomorrow. I'm pretty much officially screwed now, as I kind of wanted to dump Nash and Frye with my last two trades. By having to move Tyreke now I'm forced to take a guard, and this guard I'd need to hold until 1/21. Even if I move Frye to Howard and go tradeless, my best two options are showing up as Deng and Westbrook.

A) Deng. If I take him, I have the option of either moving Frye to Howard or Nash to Deron before the refresh.

B) Westbrook. If I take him, I'd have to hold Nash until the refresh due to flex issues and use my last trade I guess on Frye to Howard.

C) Or...grab Arenas now (ugh) who I've been ignoring by moving Frye to Howard. He has 13 games in that timespan, same as Westbrook. None of my plans really called for Arenas because of his poor schedule this upcoming week, but given this emergency, maybe this is how I get him in. I'm thinking this may somehow end up netting me the most poitns and money strangely. Given the weird schedules, the most I could even get burning an extra trade (which I don't have) is one extra game.

As of now I'm leaning towards going tradeless with C. The only downside to it is I can't sell Nash until the refresh. That early Durant trade absolutely killed me. Anyone want to talk me out of it?

Yet another post. Went to Westbrook, 40 minutes to change my mind. Of the three he's the only one without a nagging injury (and also doesn't have that firearms issue hanging out there). He can also be held for a long time and transitions nicely into other players should the situation call for it.

This does force me to hold Nash until the refresh, but depending on how the next few days play out, I'm thinking Nash could in fact be holdable.

Guess the last decision of the night now is whether to move Frye to Juwan Howard, or wait another day and move to Blair instead. If anyone's awake, any thoughts?

Ended up holding Frye for what it's worth. Seeing one more Howard game I feel would be very beneficial. It would suck to grab him and see him put up an 8 (aka Speights) when Blair (and others) would be available instead the day after. Everything's so up in the air right now too, I'm tired of locking myself into guys I won't want a day or two later. Looking through the list of 500k guys there are just a ton who have strung together a couple good games when thrust into a new role, and then just fizzled out.

I think every single trade I made except for one or two no-brainers the past few weeks has been the absolute worst move possible. But hopefully after the refresh I should be back on track and after the next one I'll be rolling (And not filling up this thread)

I have Kobe, Gasol, Ariza and $2.6 -- not enough to go Deron, Boozer and Wade after Tuesday's games.
I am thinking of adding LeBron --> Howard to gain enough cash.
Any thoughts?

I'm probably in the minority who thinks Lebron is a hold (and Kobe is a possible one too). Do you have enough to do Kobe and Gasol to Wade and Boozer, and then move Ariza for someone you like in that price range? Deron I'm trying to figure out myself - I'm not convinced he's going to be a big moneymaker.

Pretty sure I'm going Frye to Blair today. I want to keep Frye, but looking four weeks ahead I'm going to want 7 studs and 3 cheapies and Frye is a bit too expensive. At current prices and going with Speights, Blair, and Casspi as my cheapies I'd be 1.13 short for this roster, but I feel that with price changes over that time I'll be able to hit it.

The big risk in this of course is that the cheap guys suck, but I figure Speights has to turn it around, Blair seems like he has the starting job now and should make a lot of money, and Casspi has proven to be solid. If I have to bail on one of them either due to injury or due to money, I'm hoping there will be a decent 500k guy available (maybe Juwan Howard eventually, maybe CDR will keep falling in price and become an option again, maybe an injury will open up another option, etc.).

I just can't imagine passing on any one of the seven guys I've targeted in a few weeks.

Also, the plan as of now is to hold Nash through the red (I should also note I can't sell him today). His biggest hit will be today, but I think he could start gaining big as early as a week from today. It's tempting to take Deron tomorrow but it would leave me with zero emergency trades, and as I said before I'm not convinced Deron is going to make a lot of money and while he's one of my favorite players to own it doesn't seem worth putting myself at risk right now. I hate playing trade strapped, but if all goes to plan (it never does) I should have a big trade surplus in the near future.

Anyone want to talk me out of Blair and into someone else?

As an option for Blair have you considered Wilkins for Min. He has been getting over 30 minutes a game playing time and using 30 day averages in the Sartibles he projects a about 10 points higher than Blair over the next 3 weeks (although with 1 less game). He also has G/F flex.
I will admit that I haven't been keeping up with players too much lately, so I don't know if his playing time is increased due to another injured player or not.

Wilkins is one of those players that I keep wanting to grab but I know will disappear the second I do. His original boost in playing time came with Gomes being out. He still had a good game last time with Gomes back, but I'm worried his minutes are going to disappear quickly as Gomes gets worked back into the rotation.

Now that Bonner's out for a month it seems as if Blair has a chance to start doing some real damage in the starting lineup. As long as he isn't pulled from the game it seems as if the minutes should be there. I'm still nervous about buying him, but I'd also be nervous skipping him with that schedule and potential production.

he has G/F flex and is only 500k with great recent production

I Didn't get him though because ryan gomes is back so i feel he will lose his starting spot and will revert back to his 12-14 tsnp games, kind of like at the start of the season

Kind of locked into Kobe and Gasol to Wade and Boozer today. It's the only Wade-getting combination that leaves enough in the bank to complete future moves. Looks like I'll be going with a lineup of

Paul, Wade, Nash, Westbrook
Lebron, Speights, Blair, Casspi
Duncan, Boozer

for this week. I'm hoping yesterday was Nash's worst loss, but I'm convinced he'll be a big gainer on Tuesday at the latest and moving him locks me out of future moves that are feeling essential.

So my longterm safe pick of Speights ended up being a bust. If I move him today, I'm left with no emergency trades and a move I have to make on Tuesday.

I'd need to take a forward at Speights' price or preferrably lower. Debating whether to take Juwan Howard, to really roll the dice with Pendergraph, or to just lock in CDR and hope for no more injuries.

Ideally I'd like to hold him through the week but I'm afraid he'll be top loser tonight. Hopefully my last trade will still be available to grab Arenas on Tuesday (provided he's not suspended for allegedly pulling a gun on his backup, unbelievable).

I'm leaning towards going CDR from Speights for a theoretical very longterm hold. Anyone want to talk me out of it?

Very tempted to take Tyrus but doing so officially locks me out of the Wesbtrook to Arenas move. If this gun pulling thing is just speculation not having Arenas could be crippling.

By taking CDR instead of Howard, I'd be able to take a F from Westbrook if I wanted if Arenas is unavailable. But if Arenas isn't on the board, Westbrook is certainly holdable at this point.

getting cdr tommorrow could be a popular move from those outting out of gallinari, only thing is that nets have the least amount of games in the next 4 weeks that any team can have ...of course cdr's sub mill 25 tsnp average somewhat equalizes that

i have 1 trade left on all my teams this week to grab arenas from gallo tommorrow...but with all this news im not sure if i should do that ...i was contemplating just getting kobe tonight from another cheapie or to just wait it out and go to someone else if arenas is suspendedm will probably be either z randolph or gerard wallace

I have a feeling the incident is BS, but who knows. Everything I've read says he's still practicing with the team, and for something as serious as this, if they really believed it was true wouldn't they send him home? I get the sense a rumor got started, they're investigating it because they have to, and it'll be cleared up. Don't have much evidence to base that on, but there are some articles buried in the wall of "Let's terminate his contract!" posts on realgm that have people saying it never happened.

I was hoping more news would come out today. One trade left. My original plan was Westbrook to Arenas tomorrow, with a backup plan of Westbrook to Gasol. So that's kind of a mess right now. Westbrook is definitely holdable though. The other two question marks on my roster are Blair and Duncan. Duncan I feel is a hold, Blair is a bit more questionable. I'd have 4.43 for a replacement and not really liking any of them right now.

Would you guys hold out for the possibility of Westbrook to Arenas (or Odom maybe if Gasol's out, eh...), or move Blair for say...Jennings (who hasn't exactly been that good lately).
30Qwerty123

Tough spot, but then again just about everyone's in a tough spot now.

Barring a breakout game against Detroit on Wednesday, Blair is most likely not going to be holdable past then. He'll lose today and tomorrow on light trading days. The schedule is good after that, but fresh trades will probably bring a new wave of sellers. It just depends if you want to pay to see if he does something to warrant holding past Wednesday.

Westbrook will probably take less of a beating, but the issue is locking down a guard spot with him. With Wade and Paul's schedules, everyone is basically down to 2 guard spots. Over the next few weeks, there are ample choices like Kobe, Nash, Westbrook, Jennings, Evans, etc.

Not sure what I'd do, but I'm pretty much writing off Arenas since he's already admitted to bringing guns into the locker room, and that's saying nothing about any potential more serious charges. I expect he'll be suspended at least for that once the DA's investigation is complete (possibly today).

Yeah, I think I agree with you. I'm leaning towards moving Blair and holding Westbrook at the moment. Whomever I take, assuming things go to plan, would only be held until 1/21 or so and probably be packaged with Westbrook to get Kobe and a super cheapie. I need to generate some money in order to afford everyone I want too. The four options standing out to me today are Tyreke, Jennings, Haywood, and Yi.

I don't like Yi's matchups. Haywood has been crap lately.

Unfortunately taking a non-G would be much more convenient in terms of having the option to take Kobe early if I want. I like the layout of Jennings's schedule better, but of course Tyreke has been better.

What it comes down to is I have to plan long-term here when everything is completely up in the air. I don't think the old "when in doubt, do nothing" applies here because that's just going to lose me money. Would you guys go for Tyreke or Jennings? Or roll the dice with Haywood or Yi?

It doesn't look like you can get a guard from Blair. You have Wade, Paul, Nash, and Westbrook at guard. Did you move one of them? Between Haywood and Yi, I'd go with Yi, or maybe consider Thomas.

Wow, that was a complete brainfart. Somehow I had assumed Westbrook was gone and had CDR in a guard slot. Thanks for the catch.

How good do you feel about Thomas? I wonder if the other night was just a bad matchup or if Del Negro is going to start yanking his minutes around again.

Have it down between Tyrus and Haywood I guess. They have 1 and 2 games over Yi respectively for my holding period, and both are essentially unowned. Haywood probably bleeds by my desired selling point (and given history, probably will "Beasley" his way off a lot of teams before then). Hibbert's an option too I guess, but I think Dwight has a good chance of killing that train and creating doubt quickly. Frye I'm ignoring out of rage.

Right now I'm leaning Tyrus...

It's between Tyrus and Frye for me. If everything goes right, Tyrus puts up better numbers, but will Del Negro allow it? Frye's flex could come in handy, although I don't currently foresee a need for it.

Leaning towards Blair and Duncan to Thomas and Nash. I'd then hold Westbrook until the 21st for Kobe.

Dwight killed Chicago's front line last game, Noah had reduced minutes also. It is a small sample size though with Tyrus, but it seems as if he has the highest potential out of anyone we're considering. I think at worst he'll be a little bit better than Frye and at best he could be the next Love. I'm thinking of rolling the dice.

That's what I originally planned on, but I'm a little nervous about Duncan playing well enough to make it to the 21st. The other consideration is the extra cash that trading Duncan instead of Westbrook frees up in the meantime.

Ended up grabbing Tyrus. Westbrook, who has really been amazing now that I look at it, should stay until the 21st hopefully. I can't imagine Arenas not getting suspended at this point now that he's admitted taking out guns as a joke, so Blair is the one to go. Players have gotten suspended for less. Getting Gilbert was the major reason for selling Kobe and Frye but holding Nash. Oh well. Can't really plan for guys playing with guns.

Tradeless now, see you guys on Wednesday.

Probably just standing pat for now and hoping Tyrus will get more minutes next game. If it gets really bad, selling Boozer for Kaman will free up some more money on Sunday and hopefully some better options will present themselves. They're really all atrocious right now. Or I could just go to Frye in a fit of rage and regret.
