RE 13
Nah, I was just mentioning that he doesn't suck ;)
Speaking of Lebron, he has lost 670K over the last 11 days during a stretch he has played his best basketball.
That my friends is what is wrong with this game
TSN SUCKS for not recognizing the problem

Not sure I see the problem there G. Everyone knew he was going to lose a lot of money and score a ton of points over that stretch. It was a personal preference what an individual manager chose to do. For sure there are flaws with the game but I don't see this as one.

Rob
Of course under the current formula everyone knew he would lose and will continue to lose a large amount of cash. In fact I predict Lebron Lebron will lose over 1 million from the last 11 days and the next next 11 days. That fact s not in question.
What is and question and what has always been in question is the fact that when you look at all the TSN sports, be it baseball, basketball, football or hockey, a guy who is top 3-5 in pt production will not be losing 1 million during that time period.
So you may not see that as a flaw in the game but I do. Personally, I traded him because the 1 mil will be more valuable under the current structure than his points will be in the 2nd half of the season.
Just plain wrong IMO

The problem in this instance is the teams who don't have money. They sold LeBron to raise cash for other moves. If they had Blooki money, theyd've likely held like most of us did.
Gotta agree with Rob. I don't see it as a problem. The cash-poor teams are simply gonna lose points by trading out of superstars before their time. The real "problem" is learning to play the early season RV game.

I agree with Reeb.... You can choose to pick a lesser player, with a better schedule, or use banked money from selling a player like Lebron to upgrade, hold someone through a 1-5 etc. Some will sell, some will hold and sometimes it's based on how you manage trades. Sometime people just get " stuck " . It's all part of the strategy of the game, and the price swings are the consequences.
What I think has become a bigger problem is the pricing formula, especially with a smaller base of participants, and exaggerated later in the week.
Last night Lebron lost 60K based on only 8 sells. A loss of 8 owners ( or less in the case of multiple teams, one owner ) shouldn't impact the pricing to that extent IMO. Heck, in a normal year where Blooki had 10 teams, he could have really caused havoc ;)
Maybe what TSN has to do is simply alter the way the price changes are calculated

Garrett, in football and baseball the very top players lose money all the time. The reason is they are ridiculously owned so they have nowhere to go but down, same as Lebron. Isn't the debate between points and rv decisions the reason we all love this game? Eliminate that and we all have the same 10 players with good schedules. That would be a real boring game.

I don't disagree with anyone's choices given what we know about the current price movement. Many managers make choices based on the game format. I think Dave R says it best. I remember not that long ago when Blooki (and not to pick on him) sold a player on all 5 of his teams and that player lost 50K. He was the only manager to sell that day. 30% of the managers held and Blooki sold as a strategic move that worked for him. I would imagine if the bulk of us in this forum were creating this game from scratch, it wouldn't look like it does right now.

Based on rotoworld comments:
The Heat continue to bench Michael Beasley during the fourth quarter, preferring Udonis Haslem's sturdy defense.
I would guess that includes OT too.

I just read this thread right now and to add to the debate, I have to say I agree with G, not so much on the Lebron thing but just the "Structure" in general
while it is true that it does come to manager preference for $ loss or point production the current structure makes it so that $>points and basically the real game for most of us occurs mainly in the first 2 months of the season where they separate the blooki/SU's from the crowd. It is almost impossible after a certain time period to make much gains otherwise. I played this game random seasons over the past ten years and it hasn't been so much a problem as I see it now, probably due to less managers. If more people played, especially casual managers, Lebron would not have dropped so much as he is right now.
