Lee needs to stop this at once. What a crucial mistake. |

It's so funny when people make such dire pronouncements about players early in a game. Kidd wound up having a good first quarter (15.5). And as a Blatche owner I could use a laugh. He's my only chance to stay in the Top 5 managers with comparatively low money and there still isn't even a meaningful report on him.

News: Andray Blatche played eight minutes in the first half on Tuesday before checking out -- he did not start the second half and seems doubtful to return. Impact: It's not exactly clear whether he aggravated his ankle injury -- he wasn't playing with much energy and this could be a case of Flip Saunders sending him a message/getting him some rest. The Wizards began a period of four games in five days on Monday.

I thought that because tonight's schedule was so light it would make it less likely for all the terrible things that have been happening lately to continue, but no such luck. First Blatche, and now Dirk is ejected for arguing with officials early in the second half.

Yahoo's game recap confirms that Blatche was benched, not injured. I suppose that's good news unless Flip is going to carry a lingering grudge. The weird thing is that when I first clicked on the Was-Cha box score I was jazzed because Blatche had 2 blocks and a hoop 1:19 in.

Wizards' Blatche benched after spat with coach
WASHINGTON (AP) Washington forward Andray Blatche was benched after the first 7 1/2 minutes of the Wizards' 95-86 loss to the Charlotte Bobcats on Tuesday night.
Coach Flip Saunders said Blatche didn't want to listen when the coach wanted to talk to him about playing better defense. Saunders said Blatche then didn't want to play the rest of the game.
Saunders said he's never seen anything like it in his 15 years of coaching in the NBA. He said Blatche let the team down and the forward probably won't play Wednesday night at Indiana.
Blatche had become the go-to scorer for the Wizards in recent weeks. Washington has lost 12 straight.
What a f-ing knucklehead.

Un f-ing believable. A complete disaster. I'm still holding out hope that they work this out before tomorrows game but I guess that is unlikely.

Andray Blatche played less than eight minutes on Monday because he gave the coaching staff attitude -- coach Flip Saunders doubts he'll play at all on Wednesday."Coaches went up to [Blatche] three different times, just said he didn't want to play," said Saunders after the game. "He can be pissed at me, but you never leave your teammates hanging out to dry like that." We're left hoping that Blatche recognizes the error of his ways quickly -- if not, James Singleton could have a big night.

The really annoying thing is that if Blatche is out tomorrow I'll feel compelled to trade him in case there are lingering after-effects, even though he could easily come back Friday, play the rest of the season and out-point whoever I trade him for while costing less.

This thread started off being about knee tendinitis, and now all we're talking about is a guy with head tendinitis.

He really needs to play tomorrow. If not any worth he has is out the window despite his price. I wonder if SU personally knows this guy and paid him off. :)

Damn you Blatche.... You are the future MVP of the CBA! I remember when I was in college back in the 1980's... I kept statistics for the Detroit Spirit in the CBA... The smart college players who were not good enough for the NBA, would play abroad... the CBA had some great physical talent that was too dumb to play abroad and thought they could play in the NBA. The other CBA players were NBA players who were passed there prime... I remember "Campy" Russell, the guy with no knees! Incredible talent; he scored and made some of the most incredible passes. He moved fine on the floor, but he could only play half the game. He limped on and off the court at time outs and would limp from the bench to the scorers table to sign in! He is the one guy that I bet i could beat him in a 100yd dash today!

To show how smart Blatche apparently is, after high school he spent a year at prep school, which is where guys who don't qualify academically for the NCAA go to make up their missing requirements. Then he went into the draft which makes me think he still couldn't qualify for college. Dorell Wright has the same story.

i said it before, i will say it again: gotta love the last couple of weeks before the playoffs. let's see what's next. james with a dnp, howard with a broken leg and duncan with 20 rebounds and 20 points. think about it, all possible.

#24 - I actually have Blatche on my ESPN team and it's the last week of our playoffs. Not that my level of caring for that league is anything resembling this one, but last night probably cost me $200. (In typical style, last year I lost the season by ONE point).
But I'm surprised I (or any of us) haven't sunk to that level.
But yeah, this is obviously getting ridiculous, sorry about Blatche. Much like CBG I checked the boxscore a minute into the game and saw him with 2 points and 2 blocks (different reactions to seeing that, obviously). I was actually terrified when I saw you took him. Add "player being an idiot and refusing to play" to the list of things that you just have to try to laugh off I guess. Some things you just have no control over.
Selling Lee looks to have been devastating for me though. Unless I use my very last trade of the season to gain 80 points, I needlessly shot myself in the foot. If Lee had DNP'd it would have worked out to losing two games and a trade so I felt I had to go for it at the time. Blah. I still think you're the favorite at this point.
