After the picks I've made the past 3 weeks, I deserve to lose my league. I had a 50 pt lead and a 5 trade advantage. After last night, he has a .5 pt lead and trades are even at 3. Ugh!

Bogut is playing today which now is a differntial pick by default as there were 26 owners in GMD 2 days ago and now there are 4.

Bogut playing well so far too. If his back holds up the people who missed the news and held may be better off saving the trade. I'd be getting only a one game advantage of Amare, Lopez buyers probably get a two game advantage for two trades, and Lee buyers actually give up a game in the short run albeit for a better player.

It is intersting how players repond to injury news. Early in the season with lots of active players any injury to any widely held player is "must sell".

Later in the season, are injuries may be looked at differently?

Does the type of injury determine whether to sell or not? Bogut missed one game with mild "back strain" and considered day-to-day.

If it were a "mild ankle sprain" day to day done the same for him?

Bosh will get 45+ because I still do NOT have him on my team.

I'm more inclined to hold injured players than most, but it's hard to take the risk that a player will miss multiple games. Kobe, Carmelo and Bosh all missed 5+ games with what sounded like minor ankle sprains this season. I wish Bogut's DNP was last minute and off of people's radar, not reported in the morning. Then I would have held him to see if he was back today.

Did you hold Bogut by choice, or were you busy on Friday and unaware that he would miss the game?

We were all thinking a Sacramento guard might get a triple double in the closing weeks and sure enough it happened!

Did Beno sell his soul or what? Thankfully not many people have him.

I like that Rondo move. It's weird, in a two minute span I went from wanting him to throw up an 80 to wanting him to go after a ref Van Exel style.

Wade's been on a tear lately. Too bad their sched hasn't been great. That 3-in-4 looks good coming up though.

SU, I have all but given up. Monta was completely devastating. It just wasn't meant to be I guess. Only reason I got Rondo was because i knew he would come aboard at some point anyways and I didn't feel like thinking that much after yesterday.

I'm actually confused by your competition's moves: Smoove for a one-game advantage of Monta and going tradeless today by getting Rondo (can't tell from whom. Monta who's merely sick? Boozer with NY and GS coming up?).

Looking forward to reading Reeb's reasoning. I'm guessing he's largely trying to differentiate but unless I'm missing something I don't think he's getting enough for the risks he's taking.

CBG, The only way I felt I could win was being aggressive. It obviously didn't work but it was pretty much the way I managed all year. Call it bad luck or bad judgement, either way it didn't work. I could second guess myself until the cows come home but it wouldn't do any good. You of all people should know as you were looking very good to take down the top spot at one point.

Amare making me feel like a non-idiot for taking him instead of Lee, who I may not fit in until (GASP!) next Sunday

CBG - I'm with ya on Amare. He's a beast again. Only chance I'm gonna get him is from B Lopez after tomorrow's game.

Amare was good tonight as was Love. It looked like a blowout initially, so Amsre holders were happy the twolves got back in the game although since I do not own him was hoping the blowout would continue.

CBG,

I did see the news on Bogut and decided to hold since I could not get to Lee. Stoudamire was out of reach too but still might require a trade 4/4 which I looked at.

If Bogut plays and there was indication that the injury was not too serious("mild strain") and thought he might play Sunday in the original report on Rotoworld. I felt since they were not talking MRI or CT for him that there was a reasonable chance he could play today. My concern was how well and maybe how long is still to be determined.

He has a 5 in 7 starting today which was as many games as I could get from someone else. In 20/20 hindsight, I took a bigger calculated risk than I probably should have and realized today would have been in big trouble if he had not played today

Oh, I never had a real chance to take down the top spot (though I realize everyone who's been a contender has said that). While I was #1 I had much less money than SU, no LeBron and then a bad string of injuries. I compounded that with what now feels like a very foolish gamble on Noah.

Your luck has been terrible lately but you haven't truly over-traded until you have an injury you can't get out of so let's hope that doesn't happen.

Congrats on having the guts to stick it out with Bogut.

I didn't say that, though I think there were a couple of weeks there when I had a couple more injuries than anyone else. Everyone's injuries are probably pretty close through the year.

Still a good season for me and a great one for you even though the Senator now has enough of an advantage that even he would admit he's sure to win.

The Ellis thing was just horrible, poorly-timed luck. I don't think there's much of anything for you to second guess there. You wouldn't have bought him if you had known he'd suddenly get the flu a few minutes into the game.

A similar thing happened to me a few years ago (2004-2005 season I think?), there was a Lebron injury right near the end of the season and I moved him to Webber at gametime. A minute after the freeze Webber disappeared from the lineup, and Lebron ended up playing (and dominating if I recall).

A lot can still happen though. While the Ellis thing was a big break for me, I don't think this is anywhere close to being over yet.

SU,
There was another Lebron injury that I remember with our season together. Sometimes too many trades can be a bad thing. I think it was Duncan who had a matching schedule(and playing well) with Lebron definitely sitting and it narrowed the trade gap to near even and tight for both of us particularly me. I think you had just taken the lead within the week and it looked like a move to bury me. I was on pins and needles to see if he would play next game a couple of days later in Minnesota which was a game time decision. The difference was you were stuck with Duncan for a few games vs. Lebron and I was able to get back in the race with a big game.

I'll never forget that one. The single worst moment in all the years I've played this. I remember I was driving from Pittsburgh to Philly and got there with seemingly five minutes left. Gerald Wallace and Bosh each had an extra game over Lebron even if Lebron did end up playing. Given my history with Lebron at that time of year (or more accurately, the Cleveland coaching staff) it seemed like a sell. Back then selling was a two-step process as it is now - I sold Lebron and the list of forwards came up, and Bosh and Wallace had already frozen. Duncan was the best option, and I could have just waited to buy him after seeing if Lebron would be in the lineup the next day without losing any games (and as you said, Lebron played and much better than Duncan obviously). If I had gotten to my computer five seconds earlier or five seconds later...man, that's less than one traffic light over a 7 hour drive.
