I will activate the draft momentarily. The clock will not start until the completion of round #1, barring an inordinate delay

Although in past seasons we have used a 6-hour clock, I am going to try this draft with a 4-hour clock. The draft clock will continue through weekends. There will be an 8-hour clock moratorium each night from midnight until 8:00am Eastern time. Picks can continue to be made during the moratorium period, but the clock will be paused. Those picking at the endpoints do not get a double clock. In addition, if anyone is already in arrears for a pick when their next pick is due, they do not necessarily get a second clock period. This will be subject to Commissioner discretion.

The draft is configured for only PG, SG, SF, PF, and C. Many players will be eligible for multiple positions; just choose the position designation that seems most appropriate. This is only for the purposes of displaying the draft results, and has no bearing on your eventual usage options.

Our roster configuration will be as follows:
PG, SG, G, G
PF, SF, F, F
C, C
Util, Util
3 bench
2 DL

Since our league is hosted at Yahoo.com, Yahoo position eligibility will be used throughout the season. You are advised to check the Yahoo league site prior to selecting any player to ensure that you know that player's position eligibility at the start of the season.

You do not need to draft a completely valid roster.

Following the draft, all undrafted players will be placed on waivers, and waiver priorities will start out in inverse draft order.

You may draft a player who is not currently listed at Yahoo. If you do so, you will be assigned a placeholder player at Yahoo until the drafted player is made available, at which time you must pick up that player as a free agent (without using a waiver priority). After the 15 rounds of the draft are completed, you can no longer claim an unlisted player.

This league will have a limit of 68 games per position. Since there are 2 slots for each of G, F, C, and U, those position slots will be subject to a combined limit of 136 games.

Here are my ground rules for selecting from a queue: If you have a queue and make it available, and it is your turn to pick, I will make your pick if I'm around - unless you have provided specific instructions via email or in this thread. Therefore, do not make (or leave) your queue available if you do not want it used. Note that I will be able to pick from your available queue whether you have designated me as a DP (“designated picker”) or not.

You can specify that only the top name on your queue is to be displayed, or that the entire queue is to be shown. If you make the entire queue visible, I'll certainly check for any emails that might provide additional instructions. You can also authorize a DP to make a selection "free-form" (i.e., typing in the name, rather than selecting from a preset list.) Presumably, you would elect this only if you provide specific instructions to your DP(s).

Regardless, be aware that your queue is not visible to me or to any other designated picker until it is your turn to pick.

In addition to the traditional use of a designated picker, the software now allows for “auto-picks” to be made by the system from your queue. Also, queues can be separate for each pick. Please review the Draftime help page for a more complete description of queue management and designated pickers.

You can use this thread to alert others about your availability, to request volunteers to accept a queue, to raise questions about draft rules or mechanics, to solicit trade offers or announce trades, etc. Please refrain from mentioning any undrafted player in this thread.

Based on last year’s baseball draft (the first one to use the enhanced Draftime software) it is reasonable to expect that we will average approximately 24-30 picks (2-2.5 rounds) per day. Do not assume that you'll have a day off. Please be prepared to make 2-3 picks per day.

After two rounds have been completed, I will start a separate thread for draft rationales. We will then try to keep the rationale thread on a 2 round delay.

FYI I'm leaving the country now until the 20th. I should have pretty regular Internet access so drafting shouldn't be a problem. I will unfortunately not be able to research my picks too much but I figure overall that will just put me on more of a level playing field with the rest of you ;)

Will also do pick rationales when I'm back.

I will have no access on Monday between 3 and 9 and Tuesday between 9 and 6. Will leave a big queue for both, hopefully they last.

Im on the road this weekend, so will post my rationales when I get back. It's tough enough following the draft and making picks on my IPhone, so will catch up when able.

Thanks to those of you who are staying current on rationales.

For the rest of you - rationales are already due through pick 4.04. Part of your commitment in joining this league was to provide timely rationales.

By the way, if you are posting rationales in arrears, please post them in this thread. Do not insert them out of order in the other thread. They are harder for me to notice over there is they are buried out of sequence.

Since we have been making good time, and Da Bomb is know to be traveling, and he has two picks about to come due, I decided to extend his clock by 2 hours.

I'll reset back to 4 hours after this.

Draftime just went completely haywire. I had to stop the draft to see if I could fix it.

Immediately after my pick at 13.09, Draftime starting going bonkers, flashing wildly, and trying to skip picks. I managed to stop it after 3 skipped picks. I'll need to enter those manually, turn off the clock, and then see if I can restart it.

I'll email Skinneej, Gescom, and Great One individually when it is their turn to pick, so I can put in those players manually. Then we'll see what happens.

I emailed GO and asked him to post his two picks here. I have to go out for a few hours, so if he posts his picks, feel free to carry on drafting manually here. I'll try to resurrect Draftime after I get home.

I emailed Dave, I am working strictly off the Draftime que at this point so I'm not sure who i planned on taking really... and I can't view it with the draft stopped. Let me go over to the G20 draft and try and use that que to see who might be available...

OK. I reactivated the draft, and turned off the clock, just to be safe. We only have 2 rounds to go, so we should hopefully finish tomorrow.

Even though the Draftime clock is not operating, I will continue to enforce the 4-hour clock manually.

Draftime now says we have averaged a little over 4600 hours per pick, and at that pace, we will finish on June 20, 2022 (at 9:37pm, no less).

Obviously, the draft glitch last round was related to some sort of clock failure.

Great to see your number 3 pick, and first center possibly done for the year. Even better when he's part of the team you root for :(

Please review your team as I've entered it into Yahoo (still awaiting the final three picks.) Report any discrepancies ASAP.

I plan to activate the league shortly after the draft is completed.
