The league has been activated at Yahoo. Be sure to setup your active lineup by Oct. 30.

All undrafted players were placed on waivers, which will cleared early Monday. Waiver priorities begin the season in the same order as the draft sequence for even numbered rounds.

If you drafted players who are eligible to open the season in an injury slot, you may add a player via waivers (or free agency). Any player who is designated for an injury slot must be on your bench, and his injury status must be documented in the injury thread. If you do not have any injury slot players, then you should have two vacant bench slots.

I'm going to try to get the rationale thread in order today. I had too many things going on yesterday to get to it - many related to making preparations for the advancing hurricane. We'll see how long power remains. The CT coastline is going to get flooded out (and has already been evacuated). I'm far enough inland that flooding will not be an issue here - just rains and heavy wind gusts for the next 36 hours. As long as cell phone service isn't interrupted, I should be able to stay web-connected, at least intermittently.

Swish - you can add any player directly to complete your draft. I could not award Bledsoe to you because he was no longer available at the time you posted his name. He had already been added as a free agent to another team.

Swinganamiss - I see you already compensated for my "Trevor switch". Thanks. I didn't see your note until this morning.

If anyone else still has uncompleted rationales, please post them in the draft thread ASAP.

I finally got the RIHC league summary page up:
http://rotoguru1.com/hoop/RIHC.html

You can also access it from the RIHC icon on the blurb page.

The split stats generator is also operational (use the link on that page), although I don't have splits available for 10/30-11/4. You can also use that tool to rank teams on per-game averages, rather than total stats.

Quite a competitive start to the season at the top.

I had a look at player rankings on ESPN, Yahoo and Basketball Monster today, and was pleasantly surprised that to see that i have 3 of the top 5 players based on per game averages in Batum, Kobe and Lowry.

Dave R was motoring even before Love returned. Florian with an excellent start also, with Dirk still to return. I'm waiting patiently on Bogut, hopefully he can be a difference maker if/when he gets back on the court.

How does everyone see their season thus far?

The top players are off to a very good start and may be hard to catch especially with significant injured players returning.

Off to slow start as only 3 players rated above drafted position and one is injured currently. Hopefully, those numbers will improve or it will be a long season. I cannot believe how far behind in steals I am already and will probably have to write that one off.

I'm really tired of Dalembert(should have known better with that coach), man what a waste, I'm the only one with under 1000 rebounds and my blocks look sad too haha.

Trade secrets, Dave. Literally.

I do hope the trade will help to address my crappy FG%, though. I'm in a decent position right now, but to keep competitive, i needed to do something about that quickly. Bogut is not coming back anytime soon, so i needed a Plan B.

Now Brook just needs to get that foot healed up!

I agree with Dave R. That trade should work out great for you Swish. It's going to make catching you more difficult.

I'm happy with my team so far. Most years I seem to start really slow, so this is a nice change.

Florian, i was just reading up on some Rotoguru HOF blurbs, and realised that you won this thing 3 of the last 4 years.

Considering Dave R won it twice in the past (i think!) as well, i'm the rookie up there at the moment with only 1 win.

Scary stuff!

Dave R won the inaugural RIHC season in 2003-04.
Swish won season #2.

In the seven seasons sine then, Mike D won 3, Florian won 3, and I won once. Mike D retired from action after the 2010-11 season, so Florian is the only repeat winner who is still active.

You can find links to the final standings for each RIHC season on the RIHC page.

Apparently, my team is never going to work itself into shape on its own. I've done OK in past seasons by intentionally punting in one cat, but never two. Of course, from where my team sits, just getting into the middle of the pack looks like a monumental challenge.

With the trade I just accepted, I'm essentially punting on both FG% and assists, in hopes of crawling out of the basement with the other six cats.

Having said that, I probably have more work to do, so if you are proposing any trades to me, don't expect me to place any value on additional FG% or assists.

Obviously, I'm glad you accepted this, Guru.

From my perspective, getting the full value from Holiday is dependent on Kobe getting SF eligibility, which i hope will happen in the next week or so. That will clear up a G spot for me to just plug in Curry, Lowry, Vasquez and Holiday at G and forget about those slots.

I probably still need Favors or Drummond to fall into a bigger role, or Bogut to return, to have a real chance.

Let's see how this thing plays out.

This is beginning to look a bit like points in the bag vs games played, Florian.

Dave and Jasonprof still not out of it, of course.

Getting Bogut back was a major unexpected bonus.

It's going to be fascinating to see how this plays out.

Your team looks like the stronger one right now Swish. Most of my free agent moves have turned out poorly. Dropped Calderon and Dudley (who Dave R somehow managed to trade for Howard) and haven't managed to pick anyone that has really helped my team. I need my team to stay healthy and get lucky in free agent acquisitions to have any chance of beating you.

It looks to me like the two pickups today by Bingo Bango Bongo are invalid, as I don't find any bench players on that roster who are eligible for an injury slot.

I sent the manager an email for an explanation. If I don't hear a satisfactory response, I'll void the additions.

Always the way after a trade!

I'm not sure how i feel about my position right now. I think i'm happy to be ahead of GP, as Florian has a few guys that could be potential rest candidates as the playoffs draw nearer.

Losing Kobe is not great, but i'm running a thin rotation out there anyway to keep track of my games.

It still looks 50-50 to me. There are still a couple of categories out there that Florian can force a 2 point swing in by overtaking me, so i need to stay very alert and hope my team doesn't hit the skids health or production-wise.

It has probably been over ten years since I played Roto Hoops, so I thought I would ask the last dozen guys who still do a question:

Is LeBron having the greatest fantasy basketball season ever? Better than Shaq's from the 90's, if you take away position scarcity? What say you, sages?

Been on vacation for the last week (and fortunately still am for a few more days), so I haven't been monitoring my team very closely. I think it is going to be a very tight finish between Swish and I. It really depends on injuries/resting players and how much production I can squeeze out of the scrubs I'll be using to make up my games deficit. And who knows how well those scrubs will produce since I figure I'll pick some of them up over the next few weeks.

Last night was a pleasant surprise! I didn't expect to jump 4 points in one night.

I agree with you Swish. If my team can stay injury free and my top players aren't rested too many games I will hopefully be able to squeeze out a really tight victory. However I can easily envision a few things going wrong for my team and Swish winning.

It'll be an interesting final few weeks. In terms of points, we're both pretty much on the upper limit of our potential, so it's all about who can hold it together. Obviously you have a big advantage in that you can throw more games at the situation!

I travelled home from vacation yesterday. I knew Marion was expected to return, so I put Marion back in my lineup yesterday morning. I thought I had dropped Barea yesterday to compensate, but apparently he was still in my lineup (instead of Kirilenko). I didn't discover this until this morning. I did not make it home until 4am and was without internet after making my lineup changes yesterday morning. My apologies.

19 days left. I need to try and squeeze an extra point or 2 out from somewhere. Cue Andre Drummond!

Florian is running out of time to make up his GP. The health of his squad is not helping.

It's still going to be mighty close, and probably one of those horrid last-day-who'll-play-and-who-won't kinda things.

Lebron is having a great season but I have had the Cavalier teamates instead of the Heat ones as a supporting cast. However, his recent DNPa have been frustrating since I was hoping to move up a spot or two.

It looks like an interesting final week+. Florian looks like he will be hard to catch barring injuries or DNPs as he has fewer games played and in good relative postion in most of the stats. The league looks like buches of 3 with potentially the the fourth spot up for grabs. The seventh spot is very close, too but not as signficant as the fourth spot.

I agree, twolves. My absolute best case scenario is probably 79 points, but that is almost impossible given my GP situation. Something like 75 or 76 looks more likely. I can't see Florian giving up his position considering he still has lots of games in hand.

I won't pretend that this won't be a devastating loss. I don't think i have ever felt more helpless in any fantasy league than i have over the last couple of weeks.

It is looking pretty good for my team right now. There were long periods of time where I thought I'd never be able to catch Swish, but it seems my team has managed to squeeze out just enough production to catch him. Just hoping my team manages to hold Swish off for the next week.

I'm going to run out of games, which is a shame, as those 5 points i need are within reach and could probably all be obtained if there were a few more weeks left.
