12.11 Barnes, Harrison - GSW - SF
Barnes made me a believer in last years playoffs. On the biggest stage of his young career, playing in place of starting PF David Lee, Harrison stepped up and looked like he belonged in the spotlight. He looks like he could be a future DTA (Defense-Three's-Athletecism) All-Star. More and more coaches are looking for these DTA guys for the wing position because they help spread the floor, they can fill the passing lanes on the break, and they won't give up anything on the defensive end. These are fill-in guys that you don't have to run plays for, but will compliment almost all types of players. As more teams are moving to the stretch-four (rather than the more traditional post-four), players like Barnes value increase. Another reason I like this is pick is the fact that Bogut and Lee have struggled with staying healthy over the past few years and if either goes down Barnes is the favorite to slide from that 6th man spot to starting PF.

12.12 Seraphin, Kevin - WAS - C
Was looking for a couple of young bigs with these 2 picks. Seraphin seemed to be in line for decent minutes at the 4 and 5 spots but that all changed when Washington acquired Gortat the same day I made this pick. Sadly he is looking like my first dump of the year.

13.01 Sullinger, Jared - BOS - PF
I like this pick a lot. All of the local Boston writers are expecting Sully to take a big leap this year in both minutes and production. I was mainly targeting rebounds and that seems to be the best part of his game. If I can get something along the lines of 12 points and 8 boards a game with good big man percentages then he will be worth this pick.

Burks is set to start in place of injured rookie Trey Burke, so he should play a fair amount of minutes early in the season.

13.03 Williams, Shawne - LAL - PF
Shawne is expected to start for a D'antoni offense which will mean ample opportunities, it just remains to be seen if Williams can capitalize. The potential for 3s, steals, and blocks is there.

13.04 Carroll, Demarre - ATL - SF
Carroll is going to be the starting SF in Atlanta. He has never gotten significant playing time in the past, but Danny Ferry signed him as a free agent. I'm hoping for a bunch of 3PTM and steals (he had .9 steals per game last year in only 16 mins of playing time) along with decent percentages.

I really don't like this pick. What was I thinking? A little desperate for 3pts. Should supply a few 3pts until Kobe returns and then I will dump him.

13.06 Ginobili, Manu - SAS - SF
I'd be loving this pick in 2008 but in 2013 I'm not sure what to expect. Ginobili is being pushed by Danny Green, Bellinelli (sp) but I'm hoping he will have a little renaissance of sorts and his poor play last year was due to injuries. I really considered Averly Bradley here but have a feeling Rondo is coming back sooner than later but who knows.

13.07 Granger, Danny - IND - SF
I was considering a bunch of guys with this pick who ended up going before me - Gerald Wallace, Harrison Barnes, even Nick Young - and a few who went after me - Taj Gibson, Jason Thompson - but in the end I decided it was time to pick up Granger if I really wanted to make sure I got him. None of the other guys here came without risk or with guarantees, and I really do believe Granger is going to get around 65 to 70 games this year at around 30 minutes, and he has looked good at times in preseason action, so I could see him returning for something like 14 points, 5 reb, 2 ast, 1.5 threes, 1 steal, 0.7 blocks and good FT% off the Indiana bench. Yeah, it's a bit of a homer pick I suppose, but it's also entirely possible he returns 8th round value or something this year.

13.08 Carter, Vince - DAL - SG
Another elder statesman to mentor some of the younger players on team SANFORDORS. Most likely the Mav's 6th man, I don't look for VC to get much more than 25 minutes per game. In a similar role last year he averaged 13.4 points, 4 boards, a steal and" 2 treys per game. I almost took Taj Gibson here who has PT limitations of his own.

Nothing sexy about this pick, Carter should give me this year just about what he did last year"

13.09 Williams, Mo - POR - PG
New scenery, same old Mo. Backing up Lillard and Matthews in Portland, should earn Mo his usual 25-30 mins. That should be good enough to secure his usual 11 and 5 assists. I've gambled quite a bit on the injury bug and upside, so it's quite a relief to have a solid veteran as my 3rd PG. I actually considered Mo with my round 11 and 12 picks, so pretty pleased to get him here.

13.10 Gibson, Taj - CHI - PF
Taj is one of those guys I have watched in the box score for a few years. He rarely gets 20 minutes but he has been fairly productive when he plays. Noah is often injured and this preseason has been no exception. Not only that, Boozer is getting old. I decided my 13th pick would be used on Gibson and while I don't wish that Noah is hurt, I will be ready to capitalize with my 4th Bull of the draft shud the opportunity present itself

13.11 Bradley, Avery - BOS - PG
I think I’d have taken Vince Carter if he had still been available. Once he disappeared, I put Taj Gibson at the top of my queue. Missed again. I expect this in the earlier rounds, but not so much in round 13. Ah well…

I don’t know what to expect from Bradley, other than that he’ll start at PG for Boston until Rondo returns. I don’t know what to expect from Boston, except that they’ll struggle to win games. I don’t know when Rondo will return. Early reports are sometime in December, but he says he doesn’t want to return until he’s ready to go full out. Remember Derrick Rose? I do – because he languished on my bench for the entire season last year. I think I’ll take the gamble in the other direction this year.

13.12 Bargnani, Andrea - NYK - PF
I had some experience with Bargnani last years. I would have liked him becuse he was capable for threes as a center, and he was good at points, FT%, and blocks too. Although Bargnani's last seasons were not to strong I hope this year will be the comback year.

14.01 Lamb, Jeremy - OKC - SG
I hope this year he'll get a chance enough to show what he can do in the rotation, but he's going to split time with Sefolosha. The potential is there and he could have a big role with the Thunder is without Martin and termporarly Westbrook.

14.02 Thompson, Jason - SAC - PF
Unbelievable. I had just decided to pick Lamb, and then I see he was snatched right out from under me.

So I went back to the drawing board. Jason Thompson lacks the potential upside of someone like Lamb, but should be able to come off my bench if I need some rebounding without getting killed in scoring. With the loss of Carl Landry for most of the season, he should get similar minutes to last year, when he ranked #124 on the ESPN player rater.

Still bummed about missing out on Lamb – even though I know there’s a good chance that Lamb will be of little value.

14.03 Collison, Darren - LAC - PG
This pick was purely a "preseason" performance pick. Collison is new to LAC this year so it is unclear how many minutes he will see when Paul is healthy. My guess is 10-15 per night for now which will keep him on the bench for me. However, in the event that he starts to see 18-22, I think he can produce in scoring assists and steals to get a utility spot. If not, he could be cut for a pick up later.

14.04 Len, Alex - PHO - C
So, the interesting thing about the RIHC draft is that the final rounds seem to fall right on my wedding anniversary. Last year, I didn't make my final pick as i was actually getting married at the time. This time, I was away in a remote wee village called Kirkmichael. Beautiful place, great time with the family. No wifi and uber-dodgy phone signal, though.

During a fleeting moment of signal, i saw on a partially loaded Rotoworld player news page that Gortat had been traded and Len would be the primary beneficiary. Of course, it now looks like Miles Plumlee that landed that gig, so I feel a bit cheated in that regard, but I didn't know about that at the time and pulled the trigger.

Well, I say I pulled the trigger; it took me almost an hour of reloading Draftime before I managed to get the player search page to load and make the selection. My wife wasn't best pleased about that, so this selection better be worth it!

14.05 Frye, Channing - PHO - PF
Frye has played remarkably well this preseason. After missing a year with heart issues, he has been cleared to resume his career. Now 30, he is the elder statesman on an you and rebuilding Suns teams. Who knows, he might even be traded away.

Going back to his last three years of play, Channing averaged around 12 points, 2 threes and a block per game. His FG% is suspect, but his FT% exceptionable which means he should fit right in with the rest of my team.

This could be a wasted pick, but time will tell

14.06 Scola, Luis - IND - PF
I would have liked to pick Len here, especially now with the Gortat trade he would have been good value. I'm still happy with Scola, he has a simple game and will really only help in points and rebounds with decent %'s but in round 14 what do you expect. If either West or Hibbert get hurt he could get some major run. I'm hoping for double digit scoring with 6+ rebounds per game.

14.07 Stephenson, Lance - IND - SG
Ok I'm sure I'll get the homer tag for this pick, but I really think his game has continued to mature each year and he may finish higher than Granger on the year, so that is how I rationalized taking him next. His FT% is poor and I hope he can improve that, but his FG% is really nice for a SG, primarily b/c he gets so many of his points on the break as he is a load to cover in the open court. He rebounds it well for a guard, should average in double figures scoring, and gets some assists and hustle stats even if he's not a three shooter. He'll get starters minutes this season no matter what happens with Granger.

14.08 Aminu, Al-farouq - NOR - SF
Coming off a breakout year and only 23. His minutes will probably be reduced this year with the addition of Evans. A solid back up for my team and I will start him if I get behind on RBs.

14.09 Thornton, Marcus - SAC - SG
Thornton was ranked 20th on Yahoo! player rater for 2011-2012 on a per game basis on the strength of 18.7 ppg, 2.1 3PTM and 1.4 steals in 34 minutes per game. Last year he was moved to the bench and only put up 12.7 ppg, 2.0 3PTM and 0.8 in 23 minutes per game. If Thornton ends up starting I will be very happy with this pick. If Thornton comes off the bench he will still likely match his numbers from last year.

14.11 Adams, Steven - OKC - C
Adams has looked pretty nice in the preseason; a mobile big than can run the floor and keep up with his athletic teammates. Perkins's minutes continue to decrease and Thabeet doesn't seem to be progressing in any timely manner, so Adams could get those starter minutes.

14.12 Allen, Tony - MEM - 0
At this point in the draft I was just looking for roster filler who could give me some reliable stats if a starter goes down. TA is basically a steals specialist in fantasy but gets consistent minutes. He should get me 8 to 10 points a game and a couple of boards to go along with his elite steal production if I need to use him.

I took a flyer on a very talented player here. I expect him to get at least 20 to 25 minutes a game and average around 12 points with 4 to 5 RB's a game. If injuries happen to the Minnesota frountcourt he should be first in line for heavy minutes and good fantasy production.

15.02 Schroder, Dennis - ATL - PG
Schroeder has got great vision and looks like he could be a very productive pro PG. In most situations he would probably be taken along slowly, but the Hawks don't have many efficient ball handlers outside of Teague, so Dennis could get a chance to show what he's got early.

Ridnour can produce some decent #'s if he's given a chance to play and has had some nice pre-season games. I'm not sold on Brandon Knight but Milwaukee is in Wiggins mode so even if he sucks they will still play him. Hoping for some assists and a steal a game with a chance to move into a starting role.

15.07 Caldwell-Pope, Kentavious - DET - SG
I often don't go for rookies, esp. not projected to start, but we're in the fifteenth round here and I am mostly looking for upside b/c I don't see too many players out there with stat profiles I like (percentages in particular) or who are guaranteed to be productive. He's been getting a ton of run in the preseason and his coach likes his defensive moxy. Cheeks seems to feel he's got more poise than the typical rookie. Hopefully once the other guards on the roster are healthy, he still gets some opportunities and works his way into useful stats sooner rather than later.

15.08 Motiejunas, Donatas - HOU - PF
I feel like I'm throwing darts at this point, but in the next to last round, at least I found someone who should start for Houston. In reading reports, it seems the Rockets attempt to pair Howard and Asik was less than a success and supposedly leaving Donatas as the starter at the PF slot.

Not sure what the upside is here other than 10 points and a 3 per game, but in round 15 what can you expect. I would have taken Plumlee after the Gortat trade was announced but as usual Coldwater jumped on that news. I gave consideration to Faverani here, but he's no lock to start, and I doubt his stats will be much different than my guy.

I've read some chat that Fav could be dark horse for ROY. He has loads of experience from playing in Europe, and is a big man in the true sense - something that is desperately lacking on the Celtics roster. His 6 block game also helped persuade that he could be worth a punt at this point.

The news had just broke that Gortat was traded and Plumlee was the new starting center in Pho. Unfortunately there were 5 picks in front of me. Mullens started hot last year and has been shooting a lot of 3's. Being weak in this category and thinking he could get 18-20 backing up both griffin and Jordan it seemed reasonable to add my 3rd Clipper. With my 15th pick I welcome BM to the Chicago Clippers

Crapshoot time. I have no idea if Green will continue his strong preseason, but i need a shot of 3s and the waiver wire is calling if he doesn't hit the ground running.

16.05 Davis, Ed - MEM - PF
I really wanted Gallo with this pick but he went a couple selections earlier. Last pick, one we wouldn't even have had last year. Davis probably won't get meaningful minutes behind Randolph, but who knows.

Pre the Rudy Gay trade Ed appeared to be primed for a breakout season. In 23 games as a starter he averaged 13 points, 8 boards, and a block per game, shooting 55% from the floor. Given a shot, the potential is there and in round 16 I can't expect much else.

Maybe he becomes waiver fodder, maybe Zach gets traded, or, keep in mind he is just one year removed from only playing 28 games.

I am a Raptors fan ( I know pray for me) and I really like to have at least one on the roster. Ross has been given the green light in the pre-season and has been shooting well. He won't give me much outside of points and three's but hey it's round 16 I could have drafted Jordan hoping for the comeback and it would have been a good pick.

Blake has been starting at shooting guard the last few preseason games. Hopefully he will continue to start until Kobe returns, which likely is still weeks away. He should be good for some assists and a bunch of 3PTM. After Kobe returns Blake is Steve Nash's backup. I'm hoping that he won't be needed because Nash misses minimal time this year, but that is not realistic.

I can't believe how happy I am with a 16th round pick. I had Ramon queued up since my last selection and though no way he would survive all the way until the end of the draft. He has been fantasy gold for years when given good minutes so if injuries strike in Charlotte this could be a very good pick.
