Almost forgot to post this. Maybe it's too late for anyone to remember the draft!

Now that the RIHC draft has finished, I invite each of the participants to share any reactions that they have. Feel free to say as much or as little as you wish. As a guide, you might consider the following questions:

1) Did you have a specific strategy going in? Did it go as expected?
2) What surprised you?
3) How did your approach change as things unfolded?
4) If you had to do it over, what would you do differently?
5) Your best and worst pick, in retrospect.
6) The 2 or 3 picks by other managers that you thought were especially good steals.
7) 2 or 3 players that were selected higher than you had expected.
8) If you had to trade your own team for one other owner's team in the league, whose would you want it to be?

Outsiders who were not participating in the draft are also welcome to share their general reactions.

I was missing this thread. Wow Florian. You look like a genius for taking Hibbert. 15 boards and 4 blocks in the first half tonight. Let's hope he can keep it up.

Not sure we're going to get as much chatter on this one, but here goes.

1) Did you have a specific strategy going in? Did it go as expected?
Well I wanted to shoot for multicategoricality with a particular eye on percentages. I wanted to avoid over-reaching and to look for guys who were slipping. I tried to keep the roster balanced so I could pick up anyone who looked juicy instead of having to choose at a particular position. To a certain extent it did go as I expected as I was able to select Marc Gasol and Nicholas Batum early who provided a very balanced foundation. I felt folks were over-reaching on PG's so I was not happy about that but I just tried to stay the course and look for guys that contributed assists, 3's, and steals from other positions. So far it looks like I might have dropped the ball on steals. Paul Pierce was another guy who produces in multiple categories that I was able to get in the middle rounds which I felt was a value pick.

2) What surprised you?
I was surprised at how early Kahwi Leonard went off the board. I was surprised Isaiah Thomas was still available two rounds after I almost took him over Vasquez.

3) How did your approach change as things unfolded?
I also felt that quality big men were getting very scarce in the middle rounds. That led to me taking Robin Lopez which so far has been a total bust.

4) If you had to do it over, what would you do differently?
Not sure yet except probably paid a little more attention to steals.

5) Your best and worst pick, in retrospect.
So far, Isaiah Thomas at 10.06 and Lance Stephenson at 14.07 look pretty good. Robin Lopez in the 9th is looking like a wasted pick so far. So far Marc Gasol is looking more like a second or third round pick but hopefully he'll get it going sooner rather than later.

6) The 2 or 3 picks by other managers that you thought were especially good steals.
So far, Trevor Ariza was brilliant by Florian. Michael Carter-Williams by Jasonprof is looking pretty good. Oladipo can play.

7) 2 or 3 players that were selected higher than you had expected.
Leonard and Rubio. Teague. Rondo. PG's in general. Kobe.

8) If you had to trade your own team for one other owner's team in the league, whose would you want it to be?
Based on the past four seasons, I'd say Florian's.

1) Did you have a specific strategy going in? Did it go as expected?

I always vow to try and pay attention to %'s, but somehow I always manage to screw it up. I think I will probably end up dead last in FG%. Other than that I tried to take the best player available, or the top player ins Swish's queue.

2) What surprised you?

Nothing really

3) How did your approach change as things unfolded?

I suddenly realized at some point that I had no SF eligible player so I grabbed Wilson Chandler, who I hope manages to get on the court at some point.

4) If you had to do it over, what would you do differently?

I wish I had taken a chance on Westbrook with pick 4.05, it sounds like he may be back sooner than later

5) Your best and worst pick, in retrospect.

I hate to jinx him, but I think my best pick might be Spencer Hawes in round 6. So far at least. I also like Trey Burke in round 10, but that's just a guess as he has yet to play.

Worst pick may be the above mentioned Wilson Chandler.

6) The 2 or 3 picks by other managers that you thought were especially good steals

Trevor Ariza so far seems to be the steal of the year, as well as Faverani and Plumlee, both in round 15. Excellant picks.

I also think A Davis will outperform his draft position of 1.12

7) 2 or 3 players that were selected higher than you had expected.

Leonard
Otto Porter

8) If you had to trade your own team for one other owner's team in the league, whose would you want it to be?

I like Guru's team alot. I think he might be lacking in 3's and assists, but I'm sure he will be able to address the 3 point issue if he wants.

I also like Magic Air Bird's and Reeb's teams. Wonder why, they start the draft with Lebron and Durant, especially if they each get their PG's ( Rondo and Westbrook ) back soon

1) Did you have a specific strategy going in? Did it go as expected?

After the first round I was looking for the best player available with multi-cat ability in the first few rounds and trying to target trouble areas in the later rounds.

2) What surprised you?
After doing our hockey keeper league, which was really quick, I'd have to say how slow the draft was. In reality it wasn't slow but just comparitively.

3) How did your approach change as things unfolded?
Not really.

4) If you had to do it over, what would you do differently?
Probably focus on blocks a little more and get another big man in the middle rounds.

5) Your best and worst pick, in retrospect.
Best pick - Ginobili if he stays healthy. Worst pick - Tobias Harris so far, his injury was not documented as being this serious and Ilyasova was sitting right there waiting to be drafted.

6) The 2 or 3 picks by other managers that you thought were especially good steals.

Carter-Williams looks good so far as does Stephenson.

7) 2 or 3 players that were selected higher than you had expected.

Gotta be Kiwi Leonard, also some of the PG's were reaches in the middle round.

8) If you had to trade your own team for one other owner's team in the league, whose would you want it to be?

Florian's
