One night in the books.

I'm a little behind in my setup of the RIHC league summary page, including the split stats generator. I hope to have that ready by the end of today. I'll post the link when it's all set.

RIHC league summary page is up: link

You can also link to it from the RIHC icon on the RotoGuru front page.

Split standings are not yet activated. I also just put a link to the transactions page, rather than reproducing the most recent transactions (as in prior years). I may update that later. Or maybe not.

I'm doing ok to start with, but i'm being crippled by day-to-day style injuries - Covington, Noel, Rubio, Hood, Smart, Jack, Green and Miles Turner have all missed games for me so far. Just trying to string some games together at the moment.

Best pickup so far - Kent Bazemore!

So, losing Jarrett Jack for the season was a bummer. Cole Aldrich doesn't quite make up the difference.

Despite that, i have a sinking feeling that i will come out on the wrong end of any duel with Dave R, sho seems to be above me yet again. I probably can't compete with him over a season due to the fact he has a lot more high ownership, sustainable players. But we'll see.

How is everyone else finding the season?

I've been pretty pleased with my team so far. Some guys took awhile to catch stride, but the momentum has been good for the past month, and today is the first day I've climbed as high as 4th place.

I had similar progress last year, and then all hell broke loose after the All Star break, with Durant going out and several other injuries torpedoing any chance of contending.

Klay Thompson (1st rnd pick) got off to a slow start, but has really picked it up lately.

Brook Lopez (3.11) has been solid. I thought he would be good value if he could stay healthy, but I always worry about him going down to an injury.

Marc Gasol (2.02) has been a bit of a disappointment, and picking him early in round 2 looks like a mistake.

Reggie Jackson (4.02) seems to be earning his 4th round pick status.

My next two highest rated players so far are Antetokounmpo (6.02), and Jae Crowder (16.02!), both who have performed like 4th rounders.

Otto Porter has been up and down, but is ranked around #70 on average, great value for pick 10.02

Cody Zeller has been a great FA pickup, benefitting from the absence of Al Jefferson (who I had hoped to draft at 5.11, but got saved by KnicksFan snatching him at 5.10). Instead, I got Middleton and Antetokounmpo on that turn. I commented on Antetokounmpo earlier. Middleton started slowly, but has ranked #14 overall in the last month.

So the trend is my friend right now. I probably need some injuries on the top two teams to be able to catch them, however.

Well, Dave is home and dry in this thing barring a disaster, but i decided to make a move anyway. I'll keep chasing, but don't really see how it's possible to catch the man that is fueled by Curry and KAT.

I'm disappointed with deadline day. I spent most of the day refreshing Rotoworld feeds with nothing exciting to show for it.

I don't care where my team finishes this year, i'm proud of the way they've hung tough. Losing Jarrett Jack was a hammer blow, followed by Blake going down for half a season, but we're still hanging around.

Of course, no chance to catch Dave, nor does anyone else. But sometimes the achievement is in looking at your squad, and feeling like you scooped up some serious gems from the waiver wire.

I'm playing some risky fantasy basketball of late to try and hold my position ahead of the chasers for 2nd. I thought having those GP in the bank would be good at this stage, but now i'm not so sure.

The most interesting thing about my squad is that i now have 9 members that were not even furnished with an ADP to start the season. It's been an adventure!
