1.04 Anthony Davis, LAL, FC

This was pretty easy. I see him going anywhere from first to third in a lot of drafts, so this was a nice surprise at #4.

He's an MVP candidate this year, and was incredible last year before he decided to tank his season. He's a positive contributor in almost every category. Only downside is he has 50% of the league average number of eyebrows, so I'll have to make up for that with my next few picks.

Russell Westbrook. Although not likely to duplicate last year felt best Pg left.
2.02
Vucich debated vs Gobert and more all around stats. Did consider top SGs who I knew would be gone by next pick .

1.07 Joel Embiid, PHI, C

Ah, pick #7. Took the highest available knowing there was a clear top 6 group but hoped one of them would slip. No such luck. Prepared in advance for it at least in terms of thinking about the options. Narrowed my choices to Embiid, Dame, and LeBron. I was all set in my mind to take Lebron but had Dame last year at #10 and he was a stud. Ultimately, decided to go with the center since I felt that a major failure in drafting the position derailed my season last year. I passed on picking a center through the first 4 rounds seeing a fair number still available to get to my 5th round pick. I watched all of the ones I wanted go and ended up drafting someone who actually had a great start to the season only to get shut down by his own tanking team. I also drafted Cousins too early (Round 8) thinking he'd come back and half a season of him paired with a late pick would be a fine Center 2 combo. Having a shortened bench caused me to lag in games played and only aggressive manipulation of my lineup late got me to 5th place. And, as a 76ers fan, I will be watching all the Sixers games on League Pass anyway. Final nail in the coffin was that my son bought me an EMbiid jersey for Christmas last year. Game, set and match.

1.05 (Pick 5) - Stephen Curry, PG, GSW
ESPN ADP - 6.1
I see 5 guys at the top. Jokic was #6. I was going to just take whichever of the 5 was available. Without Durant or Thompson, Curry might be better than ever, since the ball will always be in his hands.

2.08 (pick 20) - Luka Doncic, SF, DAL
ESPN ADP - 18.8
The 2018-19 Rookie of the Year. In fact, the first rookie ever to average at least 20 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 1 steal. Hopefully he keeps it up.

3.05 (pick 29) - Andre Drummond, C, DET
ESPN ADP - 11.3
I'm not sure why his Avg. Draft Position at ESPN is higher than Embiid, Lilliard, Siakam, Westbrook, and Beal ... but that's what the website says. Drummond is coming off a quality season, setting career highs in points (17.3) and steals (1.7) while leading the NBA in total rebounds (1,232) for a fourth-straight year.

4.08 (pick 44) - Jayson Tatum, PF/SF, BOS
ESPN ADP - 33.5
After a third-place finish for Rookie of the Year in 17-18, he didn't make the big leap many were expecting last year. It looks like Boston might be looking towards the future this year, so maybe Tatum will become the offensive leader they are looking for.

5.05 (pick 53) - DeMar DeRozan, SF/SG, SAS
ESPN ADP - 27.2
Compared to ESPN Avg. Draft positions, I've got a lot of value through 5 rounds. I had my eye on someone else for this pick, but I love a discount. DeRozan isn't an exciting pick, but he's consistent and productive. It would be nice if he'll start shooting 3s again this year.

1.10 (10) LeBron James, F, LAL
ESPN ADP - 5.5
I heard he was pretty good. Never had him before (that I recall). Hoping for a not so crazy "load management" schedule, especially coming off his first lengthy offseason in a decade+.

2.03 (15) Devin Booker, G, PHO
ESPN ADP - 33.8
Playing with a living, breathing point guard for the first time, hope he has incremental improvement. Way earlier than his ESPN ADP of 33.8, but well...so what. I'll gamble on the upside.

3.10 (34) De'aaron Fox, G, SAC
ESPN ADP - 34.4
Just wanting improvement from the whole of the Sactown Youth Movements. Mr. Speed, I hope Luke runs things full throttle. Still love this guy since blowing up UCLA with 39 point in the 2017 Sweet 16. Eat it Lonzo.

4.03 (39) Clint Capela, C, HOU
ESPN ADP - 31.1
Not sure how losing the Point God and replacing him with Mr Triple Double will impact the Lobster. Double Double machine with decent blocks, silly FG% and (hopefully) continuing improved FT%.

5.10 (58) Jamal Murray, G, DEN
ESPN ADP - 53.0
Denver's depth is a concern, they aren't paying him to be meek and meager. Anyone read his back story? If not, find it. Pretty interesting. Still just a punk kid at 22, similar to Fox and Booker, so looking for natural progression here.

6.03 (63) Montrezl Harrell, F, LAC
ESPN ADP - 41.4
Had a mancrush on him since when he was in Houston. So glad to see his high-motor skills translating. Should be interesting with the new Clips in town. His deal will be minutes, but if he can approximate last years minutes/numbers, I'll be pleased. Will concede that I really hoped Bob Covington was going to drop here. So close.

1.12-Kawhi Leonard- Kawhi, when healthy, is a great roto player to get. He provides solid stats across the board, and can be elite in the elusive steal cat. The only question is his health and how much load management he'll get this year. Since the west is so loaded, I think he'll have to play at the end of the year when he can if the Clips want a high seed and home court advantage. We shall see.

2.01-Kyrie Irving- Another guy who produces across the multiple cats when healthy. Also love the efficiency of my first two picks. If he can stay on the court I like him here.

3.12-Jaren Jackson Jr.- I reached for JJJ a bit here, but I love his potential in Memphis who wants to up the pace this year. He's their cornerstone so he won't lack for opportunity. Sky's the limit.

4.01 Buddy Hield- Rock solid guard stats, good health history and good efficiency. Also talk of him getting to the line more, and shooting more threes. Yes please.

5.12-Bam Adebayo- The center spot is all his in Miami, and in per 36 are fantastic. He was rosterable last year at less than 20 mins a game, so he should be solid to great this year (I hope).

6.01-Shai-Gilgeous Alexander- Good upside pick here. Efficient, good in steals and lots of minutes in OKC. I think he could be great this year, but just improving steadily from last years numbers would just fine.
