No songs came to mind this week, but as I was driving home and thinking about all the injuries, DNP's, suspensions, etc. I came up with this.
Hope it cheers up Gurupieland. (;

Once upon a time in a small small world.
There lived a Gurupie named Addicted.
He wasn't always a Gurupie, in fact he used to be a Lemming.
But that is all in the past now.
He had moved to Gurupieland and his world was getting a lot better.

In this Smallworld each person is judged by his rank, and with that rank usually came points and money.
When he was a Lemming he never got a high rank, he had thought that
he'd never make any money. He would watch the top 100 players everyday and wonder who they were, and how they got to be so rich. They must have better tools than him, he thought. So he went on a quest to find better tools.

That was the day he found Gurupieland. This place had all the tools he could use. And it was free. (Well not really, you had to click every so often, but it was worth it). Well months went by and Addicted learned to use the Gurupie tools and also talked strategy with other Gurupies at the RotoGuru Barbershop.

Then tragedy struck. Addicted discovered the Tradeless Tavern. He lost all his money and points and was very sad.
But he went back to the RotoGuru Barbershop and they cheered him up and told him about their horror stories at the Tradeless Tavern.

Well Addicted was determined now, the All Star Siesta was approaching and he wasn't going to visit the Tradeless Tavern any more. The fantasy gods saw this and tempted him, time and time again but to no avail.

His roster started to look better and his rank was finally moving up.
He had the great players like King Webber, Sir Duncan, and Prince Marion. The world was great again.

Then Addicted wanted to start playing the schedule. And the fantasy gods saw this and smiled. Let him play the schedule, we'll make sure he learns his lesson. Well first Addicted got Francis for his 5 game week. And he knew what player he'd trade into next, Iverson. But before that he saw that Sir Duncan was going to take a couple of days off, so why not get Sir Brand. And the fantasy gods smiled. Brand's elbow started hurting and his points went down. Then Sir Kobe of the Lake got sick, and Iverson went down. All his plans were going south.

Okay, he said, so I won't play the schedule to get out of players with some dips. I'll even hold Garnett through his 1 in 5. But it was trade day and Addicted was figuring his next moves, when he saw he could get six games from Sir Stackhouse and Iverson (when he came back). And the fantasy gods smiled again. He's holding McGrady, let's see what we can do to mess him up.

Well you know the rest of the story.

So if you happen to be in a smallworld and even visit Gurupieland,
just remember one thing.

The fantasy gods will figure out a way to stop you.

Nice work! It'll take all the doings of the fantasy gods to slow you down enough for me to catch up...

Hey TD, Do you know the password to the division?
I'm thinking of moving my "B" team to it (If that's allright with the other members)
That'll give you someone to look at from behind also.

Hey Addicted,

I don't recall a password being required (for either MS or FS), although my memory at this point is a little bit foggy on how, when, and where this whole journey started.

First things first, I gotta navigate my way up from 8th place. Unwise planning has led me to burn up all those trades I had stockpiled. Anyhow, feel free to bring in your other team. The more the merrier!

... so we're all part of a fairytale. I guess my girlfriend will love to throw that phrase in my face :-)

Great stuff, Addicted. Glad you remembered Tradeless Tavern in there. It's oh so nasty in that joint.

Addicted,
Your story is nice but I really dont feel sorry for you man.
You and me are going to finish in the top 2 spots in the CBA division and both in the top 100.
There are people who read this thread and are saying "wow man this guy with an RV of 95 mil and in the top 300 thinks the fantasy gods are after him, he should check my team".

;-)

IG.
Wasn't asking anybody to feel sorry for me.
Was writing story 'cause I know others that were thinking the same way with trades, injuries etc.
And decided this was a way to let off steam.

Shhh, I'm supposed to be in stealth mode.
I still don't think I've got a chance at top 100 though.

Butt,
I thought some recent gurupies might enjoy this, given the last couple of weeks.
