Subject: Lowest SWP for a Player

Just wondering what has been the lowest SWP for a player. I've seen from time to time -1 or -2. Just wondering. On a side note, Kobe played and goes 0-4. Does anybody know the exact rules about putting a player on the injured list? It seems to me that Kobe needed to at least make an appearance today to stay off. |

I have no idea what you're talking about. Kobe played, and that means the Lakers activated him off IR.

Addicted - It's up to a team to place a player on the injured list or "IR". It means that a player MUST miss at least 5 games before he can be re-activated. The team can elect to fill his roster spot with another player while the injured player is out.
The team may keep only 12 active roster players and (I believe) a limit of 3 players on IR. They do not have to place a player on IR, they can carry him on the active roster for as lomng as they like, but unless they make that move, they cannot replace him with a healthier player.
If a team (IE Golden State) has more than 3 IR players, the rest continue to be on the active roster and the team playes short-handed. That's why Hughes and Marc Jackson on this not on IR, GS has Mills, Fortson and some one (?) else on IR already.
make sense?

Thanks RockerFellerSank, I knew I had heard something about 5 and the IR list, but didn't remember the exact rules.

Re Addicted's first inquiry:
On December 3, 1999, Larry Hughes went off for an astounding -7.5.
I remembered the total without research because it was his first night on my main rival's team. Heh heh heh.
Needed the Guru's Player Lookup for the date, though. Another reason why this site is indispensable . . .
