Subject: Credit card availability

Paying for online purchases poses obstacles for teenagers and for some overseas Gurupies. On the other hand, I know that a number of international players do have eligible credit cards (and I can verify this via my GuruPatron results), and there are also ways that teenagers can get credit cards. Therefore, I thought a thread on this topic might be helpful for those of you who seem to be in a quandary.
What credit card issuers should these people be looking into? Does anyone have relevant experience with this? Are there any URLs that anyone can suggest? Let's see if we can provide some options for some of our credit-challenged Gurupies.

I don't know if this applies here, but: Guru, if you can accept credit card payments I'll gladly contribute to this site. I can't open a paypal account for some reason from the DR.

Not sure if it's an option for you DR, but Guru can also accept a check or money order (pretty sure he doesn't have the capacity to take credit cards).

Actually, I'm pretty surprised TSN doesn't appear to be taking checks. Bet a lot of people are not playing because of that. Only reason I used a card was due to lack of payment options. Used a check for my Hardball teams. Lots of reasons why people may choose not to use a credit card even if they have one. If check "rubberizes"-pull the teams.
Any chance of changing this policy Eric?

I can't take credit cards directly, but a check is OK. There's a mailing address on my GuruPatron page. See the link at the very top of this page.

I don't know for sure if any of our customers have used it, but I've seen advertisements where you can prepay a credit card. Kinda like a gift certificate - Visa Style. The commercial shows parents giving them to kids "as a way to learn fiscal responsibility"...
It does seem like a decent way to budget funds and be able to buy things online. - Chris A.
