Subject: Virtual Division for ACC Fan's
Posted by: Addicted
- Sustainer [610441810] Sun, Nov 18, 2001, 12:33
I've noticed that we've got a few ACC transplants here in RotoGuru Land. Is anybody interested in starting a virtual division using RFS's division tracker. We could talk ACC hoops / NBA ball and might even hook up with each other. Let me know what you think and I'll organize a division. Post your Team ID if you're interested. |

TaRhEElKiD, I was thinking running it from Sunday to Saturday on the ACC bonus. That way I'll have more time to get the totals and grab team changes for the bonus points. I'll post the Bonus points on Sundays.
On the number of games per week deal. I'll have to dig a link for it, but I know there's some. I played in a Fantasy College Bball league last year, very similar TSN points (except they counted fouls!!!). Anyways it has since folded, I'll look for my other sources. (BTW I finished like 24th in that league last year).
Heels / Tech tied at 36 at the half

THK, I was listening to the radio the other day and one of the guys was saying how his friend said look at the football team, they were 0-3 and they won 7 games. He told his friend, yeah I think the Heels will win 7 games.

Our football team did really well this season, and as for 7 gms...
@ Kentucky vs Binghampton vs North Carolina A & T vs Texas A&M vs Wake Forest @ Maryland vs Virginia
Doesn't seem likely, but I sure hope it happens!
:-)
Go HeeLs! We are on track now!

THK- UNCCH did show improvement but hardly a cause for jubilation since it took a career day from a reserve to beat a .500 GaTech team w/o its starting center in last two minutes at home. I hope you can win 3 of next 7 and don't embarass the conference against kentucky. Take heart my beloved Blue Devils didn't look very good against Clemson either. Question - is that good for Heels since Clemson looked better than expected ?

Kentucky blew us out last year and we started 2-3 after that game (at home)...nobody was embarrassed then, but of course we went on to take a string of 17 gms together INCLUDING Puke @ Cameron...
Weather or not we are embarrassing to some stupid ignorant people makes no difference, just because we are in a rebuilding yr and just waiting for our new recruits shouldn't warrant any embarrassment. The whole country knows what we are going through, but they also know that we will be back next year...and if our rookies get it together...we could be there this yr (but I doubt it, just hope it!).
The fact of you saying it is embarrassing makes me think your IQ is that of a baby. Just shutup and be happy that we are in a down yr.

Frankly I'm just happy Carolina finally got a win, and I don't really care what anyone else thinks or says. At least I no longer have to live with the burden of trying to feel excited about watching a winless team!

THK- "Weather or not we are embarrassing to some stupid ignorant people makes no difference"- I have supported and continue to sympathize with and support the Tarheels. I would expect much better from a Carolina student or alum but I do understand the quality of a Carolina education doesn't automatically extend to all its fans. The fact is you do have a lot of talent on your team but you haven't yet come close to playing up to your potential- that is embarrassing.

First of all I am a freshman in highschool...not a student or alum and second...we DON'T have the talent this yr, that is what I am saying!

Don't go calling anyone stupid when you incorrectly use the word "weather."
Even if you're just in high school (and a Heel follower at that) that's pretty dumb. You're lucky valkyrie, as a Duke alum, didn't flame you for that alone.

I agree with them, THK. It's all in good fun. You don't need to go calling other people stupid and ignorant, even if they did go to Dook. ;) Really though, I mean that. No need to start name-calling, etc., especially when it's completely inconsiderate and undeserved.

THK- I really like your passion- I wish your team showed as much. I also like and respect Carolina and its past and present student body a lot (perhaps because I live in SoCal and am not surrounded by them on a daily basis LOL but more likely because I remember the great times we had together). I admit I have been baiting you a bit for quite a while but you do have a lot more talent than you acknowledge. Hampton, Davidson and even IU would love to have your roster. Maybe the talent isn't up to Carolina standards but that doesn't excuse not playing up to the level of talent you do have. Here's hoping you hit the books the next 3 1/2 yrs so that you can join Carolina's elite student body or at least that your passion enables you to absorb some of the wisdom by osmosis GO HEELS- BEAT Kentucky THK- UNC-G has a lot of really beautiful women if you don't make UNCCH LOL.

Whether*** I didn't even see that mistake. As a matter of fact I go to a college prep school (best in Oklahoma) and I have straight A's at that, so I feel pretty embarrassed for calling somebody stupid right about now. My apologies...
But my point was that UNC is having a yr that they aren't accustom to, but I also know that we don't have the players or expierence that we are accustom to either.
Valkyrie-You are correct, I have a huge passion for UNC, sorry if I got carried away.

THK, I haven't thought much about it yet. I know some players have 2 or 3 teams. I was really hoping we'd get a bigger division. We'll start the Bonus Points Starting Sunday. Schedule next week (Exams)Dec 9th - 15th Clemson - 1 game Duke - 0 games FSU - 0 GaTech - 1 Md - 1 NCSU - 1 UVa - 0 Wake - 0 So not much to pick from next week. But it's a start

DR, Yes 2 players from any position from any ACC team. But only 2 players. Hopefully I can work out a way to gather stats, etc. to make it easier. But I don't think tracking 12 players is that bad of a deal..

Wait I just re-read the post above, and you're suppossed to pick someone from the school you're representing/rooting for, so I guess I have to Pick a bluedevil, but they don't play, so I'll just go with Dixon. If we're not considering that then go by my previous selection.

Wait, I thought we could pick any players. However, it would make sense to limit the players to the team you have chosen. Let's have a ruling Addicted. I assume you're in charge of this.

See post 42. I changed my mind since we couldn't get representation from the league. So any 2 players from the ACC. Also note in post 42 I wrote But you can have those previous 2 players the following week. It should be you can't. I think that makes it more interesting, otherwise everyone (but THK) would have J-Will on his team every week.
