0 Subject: OPINION: Free or Pay game is more challenging??

this hasn't really been discussed and i find it very interesting...while obviously in the pay game you have more players to take care of (and tougher comp) in the free game you have to run with that infamous "lemming" mentality and have less trades.......truthfully, i think the free game might be a little harder with the less trades which really is a huge factor and with the fact that every mistake you make will be magnified...

comments?

I think the FREE game involves a little more luck to go with strategies to win vs the PAY game where you can conserve and still have money makers.

This is my second year with the free game. I think last year, with daily price changes and 4 trades, is was easier to build roster value by following money trains early in the season. Then it was just a matter of roster management after that. This year, with weekly price changes and only two trades you can't do that. If you get stuck with 2 or 3 players that are not playing well or get injured, there's not alot you can do about it. With the price gain restructuring it's even harder to make money. So I would say the free game is a little harder. BTW, doe anyone know why an inactive player's price drops more in the pay game (i.e. Webber $10.34 vs $10.74)?

I have one team in the free game and am currently ranked #9 in the world. I have three teams in the pay game and they are all ranked between 250 and 600. I think its fair to say the pay game is quite a bit more challenging for me!!

Intimidator, it's simple. Webber is dropping due to low ownership. With daily price changes he drops 30K per day. With weekly price changes he drops 30K per week (or if it's more in the free game, it isn't enough to keep up with 210K per week total in the pay game).

i still think this is an interesting thing to think about and deserves more discussion...the whole idea is also rather ironic

I am somewhat Like t-man, I am 38 in the free game, but coasting all over the place in the Ultimate. I peaked at 11 and have been as low as 700+. Currently I am 419. I think in one way the free game is more "challenging". It is just that the pay game is much more competitive. I mean, there are 5,000 dollars on the line.

I'm not playing the free game so I'll just speculate in order to bring life to the discussion.

I'm thinking that with two trades a week the free game is more challenging to make the right moves with every trade and balance $ and points.

The pay game is more challenging for the competition, the constant attention it warrants, and hte expanded roster giving you more options you hae to weigh every single day.

interesting...but today sealed it for me...i think the logic behind price movers isnt even a lemming thing in this game YET its NOT a guru type of market either...verrrrry cool combo in my mind...this free game is getting better and better in my mind

Justa quick question in the pay game... does anybody know how many people are actually playing it??? It used to tell you your world rank and out of how many, but now it just says your world rank.....

Teams that have yet to accumulate any pts have a WWR of 5506. So basically 5506 players at least drafted a team, there are probably a few teams (100?) that didn't even bother filling their rosters.

Any idea on how many players in the free game.
I am in the free game and find that the two trades a week provide quite a challenge.
I also enjoy the fact that I am not a slave to the game.
