Well, being an Aussie, I might be favouring her a little, but Lauren Jackson is my pick! Who do you think is the sexiest chick in women's basketball...

Lauren Jackson's a decent babe! =) I've never actually watched her play though. I've never even watched a WNBA game. But once I met her in person at a local mall.

Sexy and WNBA is an oxy moron. Watching the WNBA is worse than watching a JV game from a secrond rate 2a high school. Lets face it, when their claim to fame is "we're better than you are" you're scraping the bottom of the barrel. Who are they trying to convince, us or themselves?

According to some the women play a fundamentally sound game. They set screens, box-out, use the bounce-pass, make their lay-ups, and can hit the 20 ft jump-shot. Sounds like Karl Malone, please feel free to buy him in the pay game.

LOL, Heck, for that matter, add the Bulls, Heat and even the Wizards (2 game win streak not withstanding) they're playing like they belong in the WNBA

My vote goes to Becky Hammon.
She is a great player also. I remember watching her light up Jackie Stiles when Colorado State faced SMSU. She is the only player I ever saw who flat out embarrassed Stiles in college.

I am form a small town in Kansas, and I saw Jackie Stiles play high school ball three or fours times. She is so dominate. She set a single game scoring record with 67 points in 17 minutes of action. It was unbelievable. However, she looks like a horse. She is one of the uglier females on this planet. I remember when she set her NCAA scoring record, the local newspaper had a huge picture of her on the front. She had buck teeth, all sweaty, and ugly. It was the grossest pic I have seen in a long while. She can ball though.

I am a HUGE fan of NCAA Women's basketball, but I can't bring myself to watch the WNBA. My biggest gripe at this point is that it's too cut throat and not team oriented. Our HS varsity coach (I coach 8th grade girls for him) knows one of the WNBA players pretty well and he was telling me that they have incentive clauses based on per game achievements. For example a player will get extra $$$ if she scores 20 points in a game or per game etc... Basically you have individual players taking more shots etc... so they can make more money for themselves rather than making decisions based on what's best for the team to win a game.

Re Post 8: Purdue freshman Shereka Wright did pretty good job of putting the clamps on Stiles in the tournament last year. Wright didn't score a ton herself, but she kep Stiles in check the whole game and Purdue won.

Kerensa Barr. She doesn't play in the WNBA--yet, but she is one of my friends and she plays for Mizzou. She is pretty hot and she might be in the league in 2 years. Going to see her play here in St. Louis on Friday. Sorry the pic is so damned big.

THK- I would wager that most 3A high schools are better than WNBA. In all seriousness, I tried to watch the WNBA once, because there was nothing else on... I just couldn't do it. When the high light of the game is a LAY UP that is just not enough action for me. JMO

Hey Ender,
Being from Kansas I have to hear about Jackie Stiles all the time. I watched the Purdue game last year also, and Stiles did have a bad game but nobody has ever embarrassed Stiles like Hammon did. Stiles could not guard her, Hammon was scoring at will and Stiles could not stop her.
I have had to listen to everyone talk about Jackie Stiles but when I mention Becky Hammon and the Colorado State game everyone shuts up.
Also, I thought Becky was one of the best looking womens basketball players I have ever seen.

kcchief, I remember Hammon. I didn't see the game you're talking about, but will take your word for it. Jackie is a heck of a player, but I am sure it gets old in Kansas.

Judging from the two pictures, the WNBA does not have much to choose from!!! Dont get me wrong, they ARE cute.

Thanks, Samuli. much appreciated!

I'm surprised that the WNBA hasn't tried to spurt the ratings by switching to the same style of uniforms that the aussies wear.

She is an incredible athlete. Went to watch her in person last year, and she is up there with GP in terms of talent. She completely controlled the floor. If she had a little more depth of talent around her, she could take this team somewhere.

Some of most accessible, most exciting sports I have ever watched, women or men. Sue came back after the game and sat on the court for 20 minutes talking with the fans and taking questions. Refreshing to see the fans put before the players in this day and age.

bird wins this award hands down now. she is the only reason i can watch a WNBA game. I saw her play in HS and you could see her make all her teammates better, just as she did at UCONN and now in Seattle.

She the kinda girl you wouldn't mind playing with in pickup hoops. And yeah, it doesn't hurt to have a smile like that.
