Educated guess based on last week's Ultimate Hoops price changes. Last time I did this (two weeks ago) all the same names came up as my predictions, but actual gains were way off, so if last time's experiment wasn't a fluke, this should be close to accurate, though there's no telling from this who will gain $10k and who will gain $300k.

Players I expect to be gainers (in no order):
Tim Duncan, Brad Miller, Elden Campbel, Lee Nailon, Derrek Coleman, Donyell Marshall, Barry Brent, Tracy McGrady, Gary Payton, Pau Gasol, Jumaine Jones, Tony Parker, Cliff Robinson, Vlade Divac, Kenny Thomas, Jamaal Tinsley, Radoslav Nesterovic, Moochie Norris, Mike Miller, Andre Miller.

Players I expect to lose cash (again no order):
Todd MacCulloch, Kenyon Martin, Kobe Bryant, Grant Hill, Steve Francis, Nazr Mohammed, Chris Webber, Terrell Brandon, Rasheed Wallace, Antonio McDyess, Karl Malone, Ray Allen, Andrei Kirilenko, Shaq, Jason Kidd, Joe Johnson, Robert Horry, Vince Carter, Eddie Robinson, Allen Iverson.

After only one partially successful experiment I'm not sure how much faith I'd put into this just yet.

Not a bad list, Mattingly. How did a baseball player learn this much about Hoops, anyway? Iverson is a possible gainer, IMHO, although not a huge gainer. Keep in mind that when trades were given out, Philly was starting a 4-4 schedule. Mutombo might see a small increase for the same reason. Certainly, some free gamers (who still had trades!) may have picked up Philly players last weekend, also adding to the possibility of them gaining. You already have Coleman as a gainer.

Iverson up 170k. Again, good list Mattingly.

Mike D,
Not a great list, either. Some glaring ones in there. I guess a lot of people panicked when Coleman hyperextended his knee. Also wrong about jason Williams and MacCulloch. That K Martin lost and MacCulloch gained has me really questioning the intelligence of people playing this game, and thus the predictability of these price changes.

I put this in the Price Change thread:

Coleman down so large (no pun intended) shows the delay in people moving him, likely due to either not having trades or not knowing he was injured until later. He was actually sold at a time when he could have been bought. Delayed reaction by some. This lag time is what has made the free game much, much different than the Ultimate (daily) game.

Regarding MacCulloch, he has a cult like following it would seem. He is bought and sold regardless of schedule in the Ultimate game. Being bought going into a 1 game week is certainly not prudent. This week he has 4 games. He'll be bought by many who see the 4 games, but he'll be sold by people that feel he didn't produce enough over the last week (due to having only 1 game). It's like a Seinfeld episode. He may also benefit from Miller/Foster sells this week. But--------he only has 2 games the following week.

J. Williams seemed to pick up steam over the course of the last week, and wasn't really being talked about around 11/27 that I can recall. Therefore his -20k isn't a real surprise. Remember, there are minimal mid-to late week buys in the free game, it would appear. He should see gains next week, as people will be buying him with their shiny new trades, IMHO.

That's what I thought about Williams too, but you must be looking at the free game or something, he earned $130k today.

I'm looking totally at the free game with my comments above Williams.

Referring to Williams, you said, "his -20k isn't a real surprise", but he didn't lose money today. He went up $130k.

Ah, now I get you. My mistake. It makes sense from the standpoint of Memphis having 4 games this past trade week (a la Gasol). Apparently, White Chocolate was on more people's minds circa 11/27 than I thought. Still makes a heckuva lot more sense than TmacII.
