there is more to his handle than that but he can't fit it all in. i think the complete name is 'im better than marvel' because that is the name of one of his teams.

Age has nothing to do with it. Funny how some of the worst posts come from 24 year olds...

Having met your criteria . . . I advise you to chill and heed the advice espoused by the more senior members of this board. Contrary to what you might think, they know what their talking about. And, by the way, if you're going to talk a bunch of noise, you're going to have to better than "varsity as a sophmore."

Varsity Sophomore-
I bet I could take you on the court big boy. And FYI I'm a 20 year old college student, not a, and I quote, "(i aint no) unemployed 25 year old booze hound that sits on his damn computer the whole day." It's remarks such as this, of a nature which lacks cogency, that could lead to people thinking lowly of you. By the way, "ain't" is not a word that makes you sound like an intellectual giant. Have a good day.

Some of us are in our mid-thirties. Personally, I am on the DL with a hyper-extended left elbow, so my "activities" are somewhat limited.
The whole day? hell, even an hour a day would require bionics at my age.

So, is there no way of changing leagues once the game has started? My league sucks, I have been in first since it started. I need some competition.

No offense, alright take all the offense you want! Why does this guy and so many other "newbies" continue to make these pointless friggin posts! I know i'm contributing to it right now but it must be heard, self-edit this thread and the rest of them now! I know it won't get done so can we get QB, Guru, anyone with the power to erase this crap we're starting to see every day now. This is ridiculous, Marv and every other new user should read just read the Welcome New User page. If that doesn't help you check out a short but sweet thread from a Gurupie Vet: Species as this should also help you out with your posting. I used to come to the boards to find help from guys like Species, RFS, KB8ers, Shelby, AA, etc... Now all i can find is mind-numbing threads that just take up space. If your not gonna read those above links then at least just sit back and get used to using the boards before you make a horrible post like this and have people rip on you constantly. Whatever, i'm out

Don't you guys riot when you want to 'release tension'? My buddy was a student that year when that huge riot happened a couple years ago. Crazy stuff....I've only seen the police footage.

ahsbball05-

I've never seen someone use damn so much in one post :)

Just for info for you:
1)played bball varsity junior and senior year. (5A high school in Dallas)
2)married, child on the way
3)graduated from Texas A&M
4)work as an engineer in Austin

Being an engineer, I sit at a computer with a nice internet connection all day, so it isn't too hard to find an hour to do fantasy sports. Plus if I didn't do it I would go crazy if I actually had to work all day.

Just to give you an idea what some are like on the boards.

OK fine. Since you begged, here's my info:

1. Cut from the basketball team in 7th grade.
2. Cut from the basketball team in 8th grade.
3. Working for ESPN, the total sports network.

Funny how life works.

Interesting, my hoops career:

5th grade: dressed for 2 games, scored 1 pt
6th grade: dressed for all but 2 games, 2 pts
7th grade: didn't tryout, kept stats
8th grade: didn't tryout, kept stats
9th - 12th grade: watched from the sidelines

Fast forward:
Coached 7th and 8th grade for 8 years now. Teams have been very successful.

Bottom line, you don't have to play to understand the game.

Never played BBALL, can only run in a straight line.

Another point, I'm in the same situation as Tom -kid on the way. However, I've been playing fantasy sports for 12-13 years now in some form. That's way before the internet when you mailed stuff into the paper on tuesday for a Sunday NFL game or called it in for 2.99. However, playing fantasy for a long time nor playing well doesn't mean you aren't a newbie here. I consider myself one here and I don't think it's a negative term and you shouldn't take it that way either.
