0 Subject: (Untimely) Art Jr. Voting

Posted by: Mark Felton, Art Jr - Leader [4444938] Fri, Dec 14, 2001, 10:56

It would have been altogether inappropriate for this post to be up on time, so without further ado, here are this week's self-nominees for the coveted Art Jr. title. Please review the "Nominations" thread for the gory details.

Joe Suspect - plumber extraordinaire

rockafellerskank: long-term holder and repeat buyer of Calvin Booth

Y2JS - master of the English language

smallwhirled - traded into Vince Carter on the day he got hurt (although last night demonstrated that this ain't too bad)

SweetGP20 - Al who?

highlander643 - a masterfully-executed three-day hold of Adrian Griffin

allhair allstars - drafted me, has kept me, is named Art, complained about not getting a SW hat

culdeus - hardware genius just so long as the computer is actually turned on

Vote early and wisely. Voting will be open until 5 pm CST today. I will carefully consider the election results, and promise to count most of the ballots.

As a member of AA's GMD team, I feel a certain loyalty to give him my vote, but after reading his worthy qualities in this thread, I'm sure it's just a matter of time until the crown of Art Jr makes it his way.

Since, at one time I had Booth on all three TSN teams, sold Ref on him for good measure, and picked him up off waivers in a couple of Yahoo leagues, I have to go with rfs.

I would have nominated myself, but I couldn't top a double dip into Big Cal.

My vote goes to allhair allstars. I can't think of any reasons why, at the moment. Oh yeah, here's a couple:

1) He drafted Mark L. onto his GMD squad.
II) Although he's risen from last place to second to last in his GMD division since last week, his team still blows after falling from first place quicker than Y2JS could spell Mark Felton.
C) Mark L.'s Mark Felton team is beating his Art Glover team. (Ouch!!)
3.14) He actually held Art Glover on one of his teams for almost 3 weeks.
#) His first name really is Art, so the convergence of himself with the Art Jr. award is so completely synchronistic he'd practically be a walking harmonic convergence.
14) He runs the standings everyday. Tell me that's not moronic.
b-a) He didn't reply to SW's prize distribution mail soon enough to redeem his hat last year.

I have to stop now. Trust me, there's plenty of corroborative evidence. After seeing some of the nominees, and their impressive credentials, allhair even made the comment that "if I'd have thought the competition would be so tough I would have held onto Art Glover another week!"

Now that, my friends, is someone that will wear this crown with honor. And no, I'm not his agent. I just have to point out the obvious so that no one sees it. I mean misses it.

RFS gets the nod over several worthy contenders. Let's hope the competition remains this strong all year -- the entertainment value is extraordinary.

Some of these are truly great. I don't know how i can't vote for my man GP but one stands above all the rest. Since the man's name is already Art and he complained that he didn't get a SW Hat, i find that way too hilarious! Even though he dissed me in the GMD Draft my vote goes out to AA!

Not only did RFS draft Samaki, but there was a whole blurb about how great a pick he was on the SW homepage.

Also, I may have drafted Rod Strickland, but that's a story for another time . . .

Samaki and Booth would both be great pickups in most European amateur midget leagues.

Usually a toilet snafu would be enough to get my vote, but joe suspect doesn't rise to the level of rfs and double-A this time around.

Gonna go with arthair. A double Booth buy with a full gainer makes for some mad schadenfreude, but complaining about a hat that you'd probably never wear puts you over the top.

DR, I think that kind of logic is what got Florida in so much trouble! Of course that logic is commonplace here in the Chicago area ;)
