0 Subject: Art Jr nominations for Art Jr IV

Sadly, my tenure as Art Jr must come to an end.

I have been both proud and humble to serve as the third Art Jr following the self appointed JKP and the elected Mark L.

I will be travelling over the next 24-36 hours so I will log in to create a voting thread from the nominations Thursday night or Friday morning. Voting will be done from then until Saturday morning.

The below is cut/paste from Mark L's post. Art Jr is generally lazy...........

Qualifications
This is easy. You must have done something dumb. Recently. And you must have enough good humor to post about it in the Art Jr. self-nomination thread. The act can be related to fantasy sports or real life. Feel free to share your most embarassing moments.

Responsibilities
You must proudly affix the "Art Jr." suffix to your message board handle. You must do your best to bring levity to the boards, entertaining where you can. You must start the nomination thread, the voting thread, and a thread to pass the Art Jr. torch. And you must stoically bear the burden of dumb moves by anyone not strong enough to accept their weakness and walk in the glorious path of Art. Therefore, any gurupie may absolve themselves of their own stupidity by blaming you.

Powers
Oh yeah, the good stuff. As Art Jr., you are one part Chris Farley and one part Siddhartha. One part rumblin' stumblin' bumblin', and one part zen master. You have become one with your mistakes, and they empower you. (And in my case, you are also one part Pierce Brosnan, who apparently is the sexiest man alive. According to People magazine. But that's me.) Anyway, this combination qualifies you to point out potential stupidity when you see it, hopefully to keep it from bearing its dangerous fruit. If you come across someone staring into the abyss of asininity, a simple, "You know, that's what Art Jr. would do," should suffice. If however, you are confronted with a truly stunning display of lameness, you are authorized to take drastic action. Threatening to label someone with the dreaded "Shakira Jr." title might work, but please use your own creativity. Beyond that, every Art Jr. also has the power of flight (it comes in handy more than you'd think), the power to predict nights when Adrian Griffin will outscore Tmac, and the power to narrow down the list of Art Jr. self-nominations to a manageable number for the voting thread. That's it. Unless you feel like giving yourself a new set of powers. These worked fine for me, but we all have our own needs. Above all, however, please use your Art Jr. powers for good, not evil.

----------------------------------------------
History of Art Jr Award:

I JKP - Self-Appointed creator of the award.

II Mark L - Elected for purchasing Felton Spencer on his original TSN team. For the record, Felton had about 2 more TSPN's tha Britney Spears for that period of time.

III rockafellerskank - Elected for wrecking a team by making 2 purchases of Calvin Booth, enduring seveal poor outings, DNP's and losing about $1,000,000 TSND's.

Feel you are (un)worth?

Tell us about it.

PS Art Jr makes lots of typos and he doesn't care.

RFS-
This is a bit off the subject, but you used to be on top of these boards answering every question, giving helpful information every second. You were always here, but now I see less and less of your posts. I am dissappointed by this and I am afraid it is becoming a regular pattern. Don't let this be so! Come back to the boards more often; we need (and want) you here!

THK - Just too much stuff going on with real life to be here as much as before.

I'll be around more after 1/1/02.

Happy Holidays to all.

PS PS ATTN: Druken Baller..... you may want to consider nominating yourself ....

Off topic too, but i gotta agree with THK here. RFS was a main helper for me when i first visited the boards last year. IIRC you said you might stick to lurking the rest of the year, nah don't do that. I could use your help as i know many others as well. Don't worry, not too many of us remember the bold Samaki Walker predictions ;)

I know this isn't Art Jr. quality, but I went off and sold Nesto -> Tmac2 last night and Nesto pulls 37 -> 27 out of his butt!

This last week, I sold a perfectly healthy, well-priced and active player for someone more expensive and less efficient ...

Just so that I would end up with zero dollars remaining.

Can we know what players?

Out - D. Marshall
In - G. Robinson
Cash Remaining - $0

The reason I think this is Art Jr. material is because I was overwhelmed by the coolness of using all my money, and not thinking about conserving that trade for a more important need. I know better too!

Heh... :) I've been overwhelmed by that coolness too. But usually only while drafting my original team (i.e. Picking Harrington over Jones, grrr...).

I'd like to make a "class action" nomination, Mr. Prez and reigning "Art Jr.," rockafART,jrSkank--whatever that is. It doesn't sound fragrant(RockaFart?)

I'd like to focus upon those, including myself, who held McGrady for Wednesday morning's freeze.

Well, it cost big time. Not so much McGrady missing the first game--everybody got burned on that one. But the second DNP resulted in a WWR drop this morning. Trades had been replenished--yet we blindly ignored the probablilties and assumed our trading plans were the center of the universe.

Another monetary bloodbath with today's price change pretty much gives signifies the remaining rats have jumped. He's to you all! I wonder if they ever made a movie about a rat named Art? If so, there'd we be.

So, with a WWR drop, a loss of over a half-million dollars, and eventually a trade burned in futility, I nominate the McGrady Rats! And if you bought Ray Allen, get in line right behind me for next week's award. :)

Somebody get wongyjongy in here, he would win hands down with trading McGrady-->McGrady and then having the invalid roster.

I'll second the McGrady Rats. At least I didn't go to Allen this morning.

As Blooki mentioned in "McGrady injured??" thread, I am relatively new to this message board and I don't post enough to qualify for Art Jr award.

Plus, it was a stupid move by me, but it happened on my worst team (that I don't care about anymore). So it's not that bad ;)

Don't be modest, wongyjongy.

You certainly qualify. ;)

LOL. Modest? Is winning this award an honor? :)

Plus what would I post under if I win? wongyArtJrJongy? I think my name sounds funny enough as it is.

I second that Pilewort. This week should be a class action nomination for us "rats".With a special mention to those of us who also had Webber at the same time.

(I had planned on pocketing 3 trades and moving into 1st in my division...All I can say is: Forget about it!)
