Since wongyjongy has apparently abandoned the boards (?), I'll start the thread to find an (un)suitable replacement as a retired Art, Jr.

By now, you know the drill....

1. Nominate yourself.
2. Explain your bonehead move (BBall or real life)
3. Nominations will continue until I get around to startng a voting thread.
4. If wongyjongy reappears, he can veto this thread or do whatever the heck he wants.

I am here by nominating myself for Art Jr. V for restating the moves of another Gurupie because I was thinking New Year's Eve was on 12/26.

I made a very stupid mistake therefore qualifying me for Art Jr. V. I think I have this one hands down...LoL

Id like to nominate my friend Drunken Ballers
for an Art Jr.award.

He went Nesterovic->Haywood pre-freeze on
wednesday the 26th. He gets 4 games for
Haywood and he would have gotten 4 games
for Nesterovic. Nasty Nesto had a 40 TSNP
game last night while Haywood hasn't
compiled that much TSNP in the last two
games and he is playing terrible tonite.
Drunken Ballers will also have to trade
Haywood on the 2nd because he used up all
his trades getting him. This means he is
going to lose about 200K and burn 2 trades
for a less amount of points!!!

Sorry Drunken Ballers but I had to do it

My team on Dec 22

I avoided the Lee Nailon craze until about 2 weeks ago. Got him at 960 and have now lost 100,000 on him.

OK, OK, OK. This series of moves/nonmoves has bugged me:

Start with holding AGriffin for a few DNPs from back spasms (or something). Loose SWPs and SWDs! I figure I'll wait it out and avoid the cheapie shuffle.

Then, folding like a cheap deck of cards, I move him to GAnthony. Great looking Sched, hey this can't be too bad. Doh, just in time for a DNP or two and one week outing.

Well, the cheapie shuffle has started, I might as well dance a while longer. GAnthony to KAnderson. Well, this isn't too bad, but the Champion would have been nicer.

Well, thats it. Nothing to obnoxous, but definitely a pain in the arse!

I went from J. Williams to Bonzi this week just to be different.....well I'm different alright, I have lost about 120,000 on him, he has scored a grand total of 15 swp, while J Will has scored about 96 and I just dropped out of the top 50 today after a good month and a half run in the top 20. For not being smart enough to leave well enough alone and make a stupid pick up like that plus holding Baron Davis for the last week while he was losing about 100,000 a day, I nominate myself for Bonzart Jr of the week. BTW....I still have Bonzi....I am out of trades!

I nominate myself because yesterday I had 3 trades and could have traded brendon haywood for another center but I thought that Haywood wouldnt drop that much and I was supposedly gonna wait to trade after his game on monday but after I saw that he dropped 90K traded today for kandi. Definately a stupid move, so for that I nominate myself.

I have to say that although there is some fairly brain-dead stuff in this set of nominations, the selection and 10-day holding of Felton Spencer absolutely nukes all of these pretenders' tales of woe.

I nominate myself because I suck. No other reason. (And because despite the fact that there was a beautiful girl passed out and wasted in my bed on my birthday and I didn't take advantage of her at any point in the night - but thats not really basketball related, so...)

Well at least if the girl remembers that you didn't take advantage of her you actually have done the right thing. Besides you getting some...you didn't get some with a girl that may or may not wanted some from you.

THK

I commend you for not, personally...

After reading Mark L.'s comments, I feel I may as well nominate myself for calling the action on Christmas Eve.

Sure, I used a cookie cutter approach, mainly lifting the same expressions and euphemisms from all the other "tonight's action" threads. Sure, anybody could have done it. In fact, every night, everyone does it, collectively. I seem to have gone on a mission of one, a throwback of sorts to the days of radio, when one person captivated the masses who huddled by their one true owned piece of media. Even on a night when there was no action, there was action, for a short period of time.

Update: J Will scored about 43swp tonight and Bonzi has yet to play through one quarter...I may not be the next Art Jr but after a season of good moves I am just dumbfounded about my stupid move! If I don't make this one bonehead move, I'm still in the top 20 AND I could have got rid of Haywood pre-freeze today and picked up B. Wallace for today and 5 this week...Wallace had about 43swp today too, but I'm out of trades because I had to get rid of Shaq, Marion and Carter this past week plus B Davis yesterday. I haven't added up the numbers but I estimate that this one move to Bonzi has lost me about 175swp and a loss of about 200K. I also had a headache all day yesterday!

i would like to nominate my team based on the fact that my co-owner picked up Odom after the Dec. 26 roster freeze (dropped duncan). We are still holding him (that may change in 2 mins). We have had him 5 days, lost $100k and gotten no points.

We should take this one hands down. (If we do, bare with me as I try to support the crown. I am in NYC for NYE so I might not respond til tomorrow.)

Farn -

Hold this one until next week. I closed nominations last night and the voting has begin, but in true Art JR fashion, you posted anyway.

LOL
