I had originally intended to start this thread yesterday, but in true Art Jr. fashion, I forgot.
Anyway, if you'd like to be eligible to become the next Art Jr. of the basketball boards, please use this thread to tell us your most horrifying tales of personal stupidity. Remember, you cannot nominate someone else, you can only nominate yourself. And also remember that your self-deprecation does NOT have to focus only on fantasy basketball. Real-life screwups work for us, too.
Prior esteemed winners besides yours truly include J K Polk, Art Jr., Mark Felton, Art Jr, rockafART,jrSkank, and the somewhat invisible wongyjongyArtJr. I will close nominations later tonight (or tomorrow morning, whichever comes second) and start a voting thread. The Art Jr. has few true powers, but one of them is to narrow down the self-nominations into a reasonable list for voting, so I'll be choosing only the best stories to put up for popular vote. For more info on this prestigious award, you can view its immortal founder's prose.
We'll need to wrap this who process up by around 1:00pm eastern time tomorrow, so as to allow the new titlist to enter the weekend wearing the crown. Plus the fact that I may not have internet access for most of Friday, into Saturday. That's it. The floor is open for nominations. |

my team should take this hands down. i tried to win it for last week, but in true Art, Jr form i posted when nominations were closed. here's the synopsis:
I would like to nominate my team based on the fact that my co-owner picked up Odom after the Dec. 26 roster freeze (dropped duncan). We held him until yesterday, when I finally dropped him. He then announced he would play in the next game. :) We had him for 5 days, lost $100k and got no points.

yeah, my roomie at college and myself run a team together. so much easier when you have 2 brains. problem is, the 2 of us combined apparently have less than 1. :(

Lots of people (I think) have co-owners. I share one team with a friend, and I have 2 other friends that share a team.

My brother and I are interesting. I am much better at Basketball (because I follow it closely), while my brother is the same with Football. We both had started our own teamsin both, but due to our ineptitude in the opposite sports we have given "power of attorney" to each other in our stronger games. That is the closest we will ever come to "co-owning"...
