I am sorry that this thread doesn't have anything to do with "fantasy b-ball," but it is about basketball.
Does anyone know any cheats/codes for NBA Live 2002 (PS2 or Xbox version)? |

I couldn't configure the links cuz i'm an idiot but try www.videogames.com which is a site for Gamespot Magazine or www.ign.com. They both have a large amount of hints and what not. Btw, get GTA 3! =)

NBA Live 2002 sucks! If anyone's thinking about buying the game, save the money and go rent it at blockbuster. You'll get bored with it after a couple days. I'll never buy another live series game; it's flat out pathetic.

No doubt about that GP. The only hoops game i've come across that's cool is the NBA2k series' and the always classic original Nintendo "Double Dribble"

I like Live 2002. IMHO, the XBox version is better than the PS2 version though. This years is 10000% better than Live 2001.
I have Halo and it is awesome too. Good recommendation smallwhirled!!
Any codes/cheats would be apprecitated.
Thanks for the links Y2JS.

I LOVE Halo, there's only one thing that bothers me.....It can take up to 2 hours just to defeat a level. All of the time for nothing if you have to quit.
That game is so addicting, and I feel that X-box is the better machine IMHO.

I like NBA Live 2002, the only problem i think is the rebounding, it can be hard at times and very frustrating. But i dont play it anymore, damn laser in my PS2 somehow got dislodged and scratched the crap out of the game, not to mention All Star Baseball 2002. So now i have to get it fixed, and buy the game again.

How about that old game for the Apple ][ e, something like 'One on One with Dr. J and Larry Bird'. Now that was some fun.

I like Live 2002 for the PS2. My parents got it for me for christmas. I like ia a LOT better than 2001. And if NFL2k2 is any sign of how NBA2k2 was made...then Live should be about 20x better. NFL2k2 is one of the worst games I've ever played.
Gotta love the cheesy plays on the screen so your opponent knows what's going on, and the "it takes 30 minutes to figure out how to bring up more play calls and get around the menus."

BlackMagicBaller - I had that for my Commodore 128. It rocked. Also had the pre NBA live hoops games by EA Sports - Lakers vs. Celtics and the NBA Playoffs (that was an old DOS game). Though if we want to talk about old school video games, best sports game ever has to be baseball stars.

bonka, check through the guide. You can fake out your opponent using a user-selection of buttons one to pick and one to exit to huddle. You can move over a run, select it, move over a pass, and leave the screen. Really confuses people when they see it the first time. This option is in madden too.

I love Live 2002 - it has had its playability renewed too as some guys I work with have it too. It is pretty good playing against other people rather then just computer. BUT - my only one problem - is that there are too many offensive rebounds. The offense will sometimes get like 7 consecutive rebounds off of misses - and at least 3/4 overall. But rebounding is much easier than last year, which was my main complaint with 2001.
And are you guys not playing Final Fantasy X ?! It is insane!!

I wish all the PS2 modchips didnt require a degree in electronics, last thing i want is to burn out my new machine because im cheap, thought it would be somewhat ironic.
Does anyone know of an EZ-mod? Ie, less then 44 wires? or one you dont have to crack the case, or know if one is coming out?

PS2 is very unstable .. Mine broke down like 7 months ago and I got it when it first came out ... the DVD play is horrible too .. Playstation should have made the system more stable before releasing this $300 piece of junk.

airoar does have a point. if you have resently bought a ps2, you need to get the verticle stand. its much better for dvds.

If you are going to have ur PS2 verticle, u need to have the verticle stands, otherwise it vibrates too much (i couldnt tell) and it ruins the laser.
