Haven't posted a parody in a while. Wish I had time to post this earlier, but here it is. The Tin Man Sometimes when a player's hurt And Gurupies share the gift of gab between themselves Some will hold and some will sell And catch the perfect prize that waits among the shelves But no one knows what to do with the Tin Man Is he injured or just playing bad? And that's the reason why he's done for the evening So please, please don't get mad So please believe in me When I say that trading him is sound, sound, sound, sound Ron Artest and Jason Terry Tinsley's price is going down, down, down, down Kenny Anderson is for me But no one knows what to do with the Tin Man Is he injured or just playing bad? And that's the reason why he's done for the evening So please, please don't get mad So please believe in me When I say that trading him is sound, sound, sound, sound Ron Artest and Jason Terry Tinsley's price is going down, down, down, down Kenny Anderson is for me But no one knows what to do with the Tin Man Is he injured or just playing bad? And that's the reason why he's done for the evening So please, please don't get mad So please believe in me |

Is this a ballad or possibly a somber rap?

I remember being really high, many years ago, and trying very hard to impress an old girlfriend with how sensitive I was.
"Just listen to those lyrics" I said, "They are so frikkin deep. 'OZ never did give nothin' to the Tin Man, that he didn't, didn't already have!" You see! The Tin Man had the biggest heart of them all...The Wizard of Oz did not give him anything that he didn't already have! You see what I'm saying here?!
Old girlfriend replied, "Are you stupid or something? That was the whole point of the bloody movie! They all had the attributes they were seeking. They just needed to look inside to discover them. They just had to believe in themselves. The Tin Man was no different from the Scarecrow, or The Lion, I just don't see why 'America' sings all sad and sappy about the Tin Man, but totally ignores The Scarecrow and The Cowardly Lion. Like the Tin Man's story was more ironic or something. Give me a break."
Me, "So I guess this means we are breaking up? Cool, I mean, hey, baby, it'll be OK, don't you worry none, we'll always be friends."
Hey, there was just no way I could be bothered dating a chick who didn't get a little misty-eyed over an America ballad
