I was curious to see what players you guys thought would be on an all star team comprised soley of international players. According to an article I read on NBA.com Duncan is an international player coming from the U.S. Virgin Islands. I never knew this before...is it true? If that was the case..
My team would be:
Nash Stojakovic Duncan Nowitzki Divac
Do you guys think an all star game similar to the one in Hockey could be done? U.S. vs. the World possibly???? |

throw magloire on that team you got listed above, coming off the bench.

I think the International team is weak after that. You could add Gasol to the bench, but who else? Parker? Najera? Dasagna Diop?
Would Dikembe be able to play on the team?
Im pretty sure they would be taken to school by the American Team.

Some more forwards are Kirilenko, Turkoglu, and Mottola, but the team is hurting for guards. This was a question on TSN's ultimate hoops homepage awhile back.

Maybe we could get Wally Szczerbiak (born in Madrid) to play for the international team?
US would still be better. But then again - Lithuania came very close to beating the US in Sidney...

Yeah Urmas, I remember that...I hoped sooo much for it to happen that day... Really, the US team has been lucky... There was this Lithuanian guy who usually is a very good FT shooter who missed 2 out of 3 in the final minutes...That could have changed the face of the game...Anyway, it's bound to happen one day, amd I'd bet it will be pretty much sooner than later...The Euro competition this summer had a very high level, much better than what was displayed at the Sidney Olympics...We'll see.

Well, is Kobe eligible for the international team? If so, this game could actually be pretty interesting!

SweetGP;
I dont think he would be considered international since he was born in Philly, PA. And played HS ball there. (I realize he grew up in Italy) =)

maybe we should call kobe to play with our national team.....it would be amazing.....also because lately we haven't a real star here, while germany (nowitzky), spain (gasol) and yugoslavia (stojakovic, divac) have nice teams with a great star each.....
