I am new to these boards so I apologize if this issue has been discussed before. I was wondering if online sports gambling is legal in the US (for citizens and for residents). There are so many we sites so-called registered in the Carribeans that offer such services and it looks pretty much reliable and legal. Anyone has any experience? and advise will be welcomed. Thanks a lot!

I'm not knocking you in the slightest here, smartone, but I just love the irony of a gambling thread started by someone called the "smartone". :-)

As for the actual answer, I don't have a clue. A while back (couple of years) I did do some stuff on one site (intentionally forgetting the details). Seemed on the legit side, I mean, hey, they kept taking my money without any problems.

I'd ask these guys. And then go bet against them.

i use sportsbook for my sports bets, and play blackjack with them all the time.
The guy who helped me when I had a problem logging in told me the card games are fixed, -
BUT that doesn't mean you can't make any money playing them. I was up to 2000 (2x) and 5000 in the past few weeks, but blew it all when the computer decided to win every time. You just need control to quit that I don't possess.
The company is legit, they send me money whenever I win sportsbook.com however rare those wins might be when I don't try and double it and lose it all!

Let me know if you sign up, I get a referral bonus.

Stay away from sportsinteraction.com they will do EVERYTHING to stop you from getting your payout.

For starters, they asked me to call them to varify. Then, two forms of ID needed to be faxed, including
drivers licence. Then, they had to have a notorized copy.. and still nothing. Very shady practice, got so
sick of it, i wrote off the 60$.

sportsbook has been pretty good, they credit back your initial credit card payments, and then FedEx a check for the difference.

I borrowed this article from Mario LeMoose on the Baseball Boards. As he notes, "Worthwhile reading, especially if your legal residence lies within one of the "forbidden" states."

You are going to want to do one that takes paypal. Most CC companies don't allow transactions to known gambling sites.
