Do you guys know that Manute Bol is almost broke? He used all his money up trying to help his people in Nigeria. Saw it on ESPN.

I saw the same thing. Really interesting stuff, and made me respect him a whole lot.

OT -- Is "Minute Bol" the mini-me version of "Manute Bol"? And if so, is that mini-me as tall as a regular human male? :)

Manute Bol is from Sudan. It's correct he spend all his money to held his country. He also was a minister of sport for a short while. Nice career move to go to celebrity boxing.

I heard on ESPN radio that he donated the money he was paid to do celebrity boxing to the Ring True Foundation. The man's heart is in the right place if you ask me.

REAL SPORTS STORY ON MANUTE BOL
Manute Bol, the 7-foot-7 center who played 10 years in the NBA, has established a charity to help victims of the civil war that has raged in his native Sudan for nearly 20 years. The Ring True Foundation is dedicated to providing aid to displaced Sudanese families, particularly for the education of their children, many of whom were orphaned by the war and have since been resettled as refugees in the United States.
