I have been mentioning this point again and again but never heard any comment about it.
The purpose of price gravity is to adjust a player's price to his performance, hence, if a high-priced player doesn't produce, few managers pick him up - and the obvious result is that his proce gravitates until it is low enough to attract buyers. One issue is the gravity rate which I will leave open, but my concern is that the definition of who-is-in-gravity-mode ("gravitable"?) has to be slightly modified.
According to TSN rules, if a player is owned by a certain percentage of the Managers - he is not "gravitable". However, there are many teams which have been abandoned by their managers (dead teams), but the players in these teams continue to be considered as "owned by managers", and if a specific player is on many such dead-teams, he is non-gravitable, regardless of his performance.
A great example is Drew Gooden. He had a great pre-season and he was on the opening roster of many teams. As managers gradually lost interest in this season's game, many teams with Drew Gooden were abandoned - but as you can see here , he was never in gravity (his price dropped since managers gradually sold him in the first weeks of the season)
My suggestion to TSN is to define "dead teams" according to the number of available trades and/or according to the last time that the manager has accessed his team page. Obviously, a "dead team" will continue to score points, but its players will not be counted for the gravity calculation.

Kwame Brown is another example. He's stuck at $2 million.

Bobby Jackson's price didn't drop either during his time on the IL, IIRC.

Stackhouse, Hill, and the list goes on... Obviously this won't be changing in this year's environment, but I agree it is a very valid point that I feel TSN should take with serious consideration.

Actually, I just noticed something quite peculiar. Has anybody seen Grant Hill's price history in the Ultimate game? Is it just me or is the pricing algorithm not as simple as we thought? Does the gravity threshold change on any given day?! Hmmm... I find it hard to believe that on the days that Hill remains constant that people are actually buying into him...

Can't change it for this year, but this is definitely something we're looking into for future versions of this game.
