Just received the following:

Dear Manager,
Congratulations on your outstanding performance in The Sporting News .
Unfortunately, you are not eligible to receive a prize. Only residents of the US and Canada (excluding Montana, Vermont, Louisiana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Arizona, Florida, Maryland, Colorado and the province of Quebec) are eligible. Additionally, all players who fail to provide complete address information upon registering are disqualified from prize consideration. Please see our official rules for more information at:
http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/hoops/fullseason/ultimate/about/official_rules.html
Thank you for playing Sporting News Fantasy Games.
Sincerely,
The Commish

Problem is I can't find any reason that I'm not eligible. I played and won last year and was able to receive a prize. I have not changed my registration info since then. I don't live in one of the listed states. Did anyone else receive one of these? I've responded to the e-mail, but don't know if that address is setup to receive. Is there anyone else I should contact?

Thanks,
Jason

I finished around 170th or so, and I received an email saying I won a prize for 51-100th place. IS this correct? I thought maybe since several of the top teams have the same manager, maybe they give out prizes to the top 100 managers, not top 100 temas. Is this right?????

Thanks.

For #1 - #100, it is the top 100 managers (no multiple winners). However, you can win multiple division prizes.

slug, same thing happened to me (in hockey too). Just reply to the email and send a CC to ebarmack@sportingnews.com.

I think thats what I did for hockey and got it straightened out. Now I get to do it again for hoops :(

Thanks J. Do you know what the problem is? Can we do something different to avoid this in the future?

replied back already:

"I figured out the problem. In your profile, you left the country field blank, so when the system runs, it doesn't recognize the country (which is blank) as valid. If you go in and fix that, it won't happen again."

Thanks J

I was also without a state. TSN has already sent me a "disregard previous message" message, so everything should work out.

I finished at 110. I know there are at least 10, if not many more duplicate manager teams in the Top 100. I have received no email at all.

According to the game site, you should receive it today Bungers. I'd start sending e-mails tomorrow morning if I were you.

I finished 52nd and figured I was out of the top 50 prize money. Then I got an email today telling me I was getting $35 for finishing in the top 50. I forgot that you couldn't be a multiple top 100 winner. So I end up winning $75 and a T-Shirt. Way to go!!

Dunk-

Same for me. Finished 55th and still got the 35 bucks. I didn't count, but I would bet there are at least 10 duplicative teams in the top 50.

Man, I got lucky. I easily won 1 division, but finished 2nd in the other and another team was 149 overall. I guess the other team was ineligible and so were at least 48 other managers b/c I will receive 3 prizes (2 division and 1 51-100)!

Now I gotta fill out the tax forms. Once that is done, I will make a nice donation to the Guru.

Where you guy able to order your shirt from the link TSN provided? I entered my email address and password (TSN log in password) and both came up an invalid. What am I doing wrong?

I got two emails saying I wasn't eligible to win prizes (top 100 and division), which means there are at least two managers that can thank TSN for my ineligibility for living outside the US.

Sorry guys, I just had to vent a little.

I had to register a new account. I don't think the sportingnews shop is tied into your fantasy login.

It allowed me to order one T-shirt, although I won 3 divisions. I don't know if I can separately order the others or not. (Not sure if I want more than one T-shirt, although I suppose you can never have too many dust rags.)

DD:

Right above where you enter your e-mail/password, there is a link to register. Click it. You have to register separately with the shirt company as far as I can tell.

It took me a while to figure it out too.

Ok, just a couple questions. How do we go about getting shirts if we won multiple divisions? If we won multiple divisions, should we write division names on each tax form? Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the info rfs and Guru. Couldn't fit my entire name on the shirt, so C.THUNDER will have to do. Since I live in Connecticut, I'll be on the lookout for a "Guru" shirt :)

tommyd- I haven't, as a matter of fact, I still haven't received my prize from Nascar Season II from last year! I can't believe what I've had to go through to get a total of $30...but, I'll keep bugging them until I get it.
