Another rich moron makes a stupid decision. I expected a bit more from him after he graduated college to go Pro. He had more talent than Bobby Hurley, perhaps now the world will never know.

Are the reports that bad about his situation. I thought that it was imply a broken leg and maybe a fractured pelvis but expect him out till probably Christmas.

Rumor is he's paralyzed and the Bulls are trying to keep it on the low.

CHICAGO -- Chicago Bulls guard Jay Williams is listed in intensive care after undergoing pelvic surgery Friday, according to a source in a report in Saturday's editions of the Chicago Tribune.
Williams reportedly needed surgery to correct nerve damage in his pelvic area and might need reconstructive surgery on his left knee. He could also have several other procedures after crashing his week-old motorcyle Thursday afternoon.
While several team sources told the newspaper that the multiple injuries might jeopardize Williams' career, the unnamed source said he might only miss next season.

I definately sympathize for him, being a fellow rider and also recovering from an accident myself. From the article it sounds like this was his first bike and he had never rode before. I've seen the bike he was riding on T.V and it looked like a Yamaha YZF-R1000, definately not a beginners bike. Another Duke PG career ended.

Stupid and sad part is that he might be broke and without a job. I wish him the best but I believe most rookie contracts have a no motorcycle clause built in.
Will be interesting to see what the Bulls do.

"Jay Williams also had a wild streak that few seemed to know about. He was not wearing a helmet when he crashed. Nor was he licensed to drive a motorcycle in Illinois. Over the last 30 months, he has been ticketed at least three times for speeding and reckless driving violations"

I dont know whats wrong with that guy. Maybe hes just really bad at decision making. I also read somewhere that he does have a no bike-riding clause.. so we'll see whats gonna happen to his contract.

What an idiot, you have to be really dumb if you have no motorcycle clause and end up in a motorcycle wreck. If he wanted excitement he should've went skydiving or bungee jumping.

I just read an article saying that we are suppose to feel sorry for Jay. Ya, I guess I do in one sense. I don't rejoice over anyone's pain, but I find it hard to sympathize with people who are knowlingly doing things that are prohibited and are burnt in the process. We all make mistakes, but come, there are levels to mistakes and this one was much larger than leaving the milk out on the counter all day during the summer. Big risks have bigger consequences. There is no way this was worth it. Jay is very short-sighted in his decision making...This one may have cost him "dream" as referred to playing in the pros before he was drafted. Apparently, he was willing to piss it down the drain for a motorcycle, what was the bigger dream?

12 Rubalamp I agree.....I see it like this...When you are an NBA or any Professional Sports player...a team has invested money into you and mostly your body! Especially as a rookie....take it easy and cool.

I'm guessing nobody watches ESPN's Beg, Borrow, & Deal but it was, um, interesting on tonight's episode to see the two teams meet at the Bulls facilities for a basketball challenge with Jay Williams, and then see Williams about to leave on his motorcycle and say "I'm not supposed to have it, so...", then take off, without a helmet of course. You'd think maybe they would edit that out of the show.

this really sucked for the Bulls as Jay Williams was as good as traded...I had info from a good source that a deal was done that would have sent Williams and the 6th pick for the 3rd pick...Carmello Anthony...would have really set the Bulls up adding Carmello to the mix with Curry/Chandler/Crawford...
