This thread will be used exclusively for draft picks in the RotoGuru Invitation Hoops Challenge (RIHC) league. When it is your turn to pick, simply enter the player's name, and list the eligible Yahoo position(s) as well. As the draft unfolds, I will be updating a draft recap page which lists all picks in order, and also lists all rosters as they are developing. Hopefully, this will make it easier for people - both league managers and observers - to keep tabs on the draft progress of each team.
The draft clock will not officially start until October 11th, but we can begin drafting now if managers are ready to go. Once the draft clock starts, there will be a 24 hour time limit between picks. If there is a 24 hour gap, that pick is skipped and the next manager can select. Skipped picks can be made up at any time. Hopefully, there will be little need to invoke the clock. Managers are encouraged to make arrangements to have someone else make their next pick if they expect to be away for an extended period. This could be a different manager (perhaps one without an intervening pick), or some who is otherwise unaffiliated with this league.
Draft pick trading is permitted. If a trade involving draft picks has been agreed upon by two (or more) managers, please post that trade here. If any manager believes a trade involving a draft pick is inappropriate, that can also be posted in this thread. If a challenge is raised here, the draft will temporarily stop while we sort it out. Trades will be vetoed based upon the vote of 6 managers. This standard will also apply to any player trade during the draft or during the season.
To recap, here is the draft order:
1 coldwater coyotes

4 Swish & Edgar

6 ukula
7 Doug
8 Guru
9 blackjackis21
10 Philflyboy
11 Lionprideguy
12 Rand
Even numbered rounds will be in reverse order. The draft will proceed for 15 rounds.
Roster requirements will be as follows:
4 guards
4 forwards
2 centers
2 utility
3 bench
Each manager must draft a roster which can meet these eligibility requirements. Yahoo position eligibility will be used. Players who are not yet listed by Yahoo may be drafted. If so, the drafting manager should also declare the position which he believes will be appropriate for that player. Drafting an unlisted player will protect that player from a waiver claim when he becomes listed. Instead, the player will be added the the drafting team's roster as soon as the player is available.
As a courtesy to other managers, it is good practice to send an email to the next picker once you have made your selection. This helps to keep things moving without the need to continually check here. I will attempt to keep the draft recap page current, but there will be times when I am unavailable, and this thread will get ahead of the recap page.
A separate thread will be established for discussion of draft picks. Do not use this thread for any purpose other than announcing a pick, challenging a pick, announcing a trade, or challenging a trade.
Coldwater coyote may announce his opening pick whenever he is ready. The clock will not start until 12:01 am EDT on Saturday, October 11.
